About the trip: We…read moreleft on a Monday morning at 8:30 and came back at about 1:30. It was no more than 20 minutes out to our first spot and 20 minutes back. The boat is on the smaller end but pretty roomy and absolutely perfect for four people to fish. Never once did we catch each others lines or need more room. You'll be fishing with squid and shrimp. Captain Brett made this a fun and relaxing day. There really isn't anything he can improve upon. Maybe he could find some "lagniappe", but really he has everything down pat. I go out on a couple of fishing charters a year and I would choose Sunrise every time if I was in the Tampa area. Brett is as cool as a cucumber and handles the charter with low key ease. He is able to place his boat extremely well. Certainly the best driver I've ever been with. Never did we smack the boat on waves or have water come over. He set the boat extremely well and once he put it there it was game on until we moved spots. We caught enough fish for four grown men to struggle through. All of our catch was "grey snapper" or grunts. They were a really great and mild fish. He had an excellent recommendation of taking our catch to Sea Critters Cafe. We all caught many fish, and really was never in a spot where we didn't get action. We never spent more than a minute getting baited, getting our fish off, or putting on a new line. He told us he gets dinged on reviews for cancelling, but as someone who has been out and got skunked I understand. He wants you to catch fish and won't put you in bad conditions. Trust me if he cancels you are better off.
