As someone who hates the gym and has had very little physical activity, walking into a place like…read morethis can feel really intimidating. Luckily, the instructors are insanely supportive (and won't pressure you), and the attendees are various skill levels. There are two main rooms to this facility - one with a soft floor for jujitsu or yoga and one with punching bags, ropes, a big tire, etc. for hardcore training. While I've only had the chance to participate in one class so far, I'll definitely update my review as I have a chance to explore the diverse schedule that's available. I will say, it was a bit of an ego blow trying to keep up with people who have been in the program for a while, but my teacher made sure I understood he was there to help me reach my personal goals, no comparing, no judgement... just one step at a time. Also, he taught me the PROPER way to do even simple things like squats (which I was doing totally wrong). One word to the wise... if you don't have your own boxing gloves, get some! My hands smelled like dirty feet for three days (even after washing them multiple times).

Nice and clean place with two sections: Mats for BJJ and a CrossFit ish section. This is definitely…read morethe go-to place for Jiujitsu in town. I had no previous experience with BJJ but the class didn't make me feel uncomfortable and had lots of fun. The equipments on the other side of the gym is pretty cool and people were doing some kickass workout. Might try the bootcamp or kickboxing next soon.

I have been attending Becka's boot camp since Nov 2017 for 4 days a week. Her workouts are about 45…read moremins long, and include anything from Tabata style to CrossFit-like sessions. What I love most is that she provides Polar heart rate monitors to wear during the workout, and your heart rate zones are always projected on her TV in the gym. This is helpful when you're trying to not only get fit and burn calories, but get heart healthy, too! It's an excellent benchmark to see how far you've come, as well. She has a clean gym with tons of equipment; free weights/bar, dumbbells, medicine balls, ropes, jump ropes, resistance bands, TRX, rowing machine, pull up bar, boxes, you name it- she has it! Becka is wise beyond her years in nutrition and fitness. Most personal trainers focus only on your form and weight when you attend. She cares so much more about you than your weight. She encourages you to set attainable goals, and be more in tune with your well-being. She's gentle, kind and so knowledgeable! I'm so happy I've found her, and that she's just down the road from me, too! Give Becka a try, she offers a free first week, free coaching and workouts online, too! The perfect fitness and nutrition package is right here in Grayslake!

I was able to get a free class and also took advantage of their $69 during the month of January! I…read morereally enjoyed their motivational atmosphere, good music selections, group support with high fives, and awesome instructors to help with either modifications or make sure I was doing the movements correctly. I like how the exercises can be personalized to one's own fitness and intensity levels and we can usually go at our own pace while going through different stations. We sometimes would get paired with someone - I guess so if we had a questions, we could ask them? Sometimes I would lose my partner if my pace was too slow or if I went to another area looking for the right weight to lift for the given exercise, but other than that, everything was fine. The bathrooms were clean, cubbies were available to store our jackets and personal belongings (no locks because no one steals here - I'm not entirely used to this since I am from the hood but I suppose with the membership fees, people have higher income brackets so no one is going to steal petty things. Overall, this gym has a great formula - good app for tracking workouts, help desk with support staff, child care area, motivational walk of fitness testimonials, and positive quotes on the walls of the gym. It is a great gym although the price is on the higher end for me. I will advise gym attendees to be careful with proper form and using the best dumbbell weight for each exercise to avoid injury. My month has ended and I will consider joining this gym in the future. Finally, I always look at the fitness level of the instructor for different programs and classes and the fitness levels amor these instructors are great so I definitely looked to them for inspiration and workout directions.

I had seen some of my friends posting videos of their workouts on their Instagram stories, so I had an idea of what to expect, and it encouraged me to finally try one out. (They do come and take videos during each workout to post online, so if this is something you would not be okay with...don't go.) There are people of all ages and fitness levels, but mostly women and they do have child watch services during your work out. I was also lucky to come during a cheap first month promotion, so I took advantage of that before signing up for an actual membership. The instructors are well trained and they come around and try to help correct technique as much as possible, but the class sizes are fairly large and the workouts are pretty fast paced, so it may not be a great gym for true beginners who do not have an idea of what proper form should be on a variety of exercises. It is an encouraging atmosphere, almost too many high fives if you ask me, but I take the good with the bad. I do enjoy the music, programming, variety of workouts, equipment available, and overall welcoming and motivational vibes.
