I have tried gyms before and even a personal trainer. Wisco fit is the first place to get me excited about working out and to actually have the motivation to stick with it. The staff is amazing, every coach is there for you and wants to see you succeed. The other members are also awesome and will motivate the hell out of you, especially when you're struggling. Never done CrossFit before? Doesn't matter! I didn't know the first thing about it but everyone is so helpful and welcoming. I can't say enough good things about this place and I really hope they can continue on after all this Covid stuff has passed. Try this place out, you will be so glad you did.

There are a variety of programs going on in the gym, not just CrossFit. At any time you could find a CrossFit class happening, one on one personal training and kids watching their parents, "having fun!" Yes, one of the few facilities I know where kids are welcome. Why not set a good example for kids, showing them fitness is fun. If you're looking into starting CrossFit or looking for a change, I strongly encourage you to give this place a try!

Besides the friendly front desk and on-site masseuse, I love having the option of the outdoor running/ walking track and the outdoor pool during the summer months. This location still has an indoor pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna as well. Of course hand towels and bath towels are complimentary and the locker rooms are clean & I have zero complaints with the lockers themselves. There is a variety of fitness classes offered throughout the week and plenty of equipment to use for both cardio and strength training. Early mornings I can relax for a few minutes before a spin class with a cup of coffee in the seating area. Personal trainers, premium classes and childcare services are also offered. The WAC apps allow for a quick and easy check in to the club as well as for classes signed up for through the app (at any of their locations). Having been a member here for a number of years, I appreciate the number of amenities and the flexibility to use the different locations. The pricing seems fair for what I get and how well maintained the equipment and overall facilities are, plus the variety of classes I get to choose from.

I first discovered Orangetheory Fitness when I was living in Minneapolis. When I moved to…read moreMilwaukee I was devastated to discover that there were no locations here. Devastated. Seriously. I won't say that finding out that Orangetheory was finally opening in Milwaukee was the happiest day of my life, but it probably makes the top five. This is the best workout I have ever had. It's hour-long group fitness that blends cardio and strength training and is all based on your heart rate (everyone wears a heart rate monitor with the results posted on screens in the studio so both you and the trainer can see what's going on). I've been in other group fitness classes where the trainer might tell you to do 6.0 mph on the treadmill. Trouble is, one person's 6.0 leaves them gasping for air and ready to puke while another person's 6.0 is a nice little warm up. Here the trainer will tell you what heart rate zone to get to and whether you get there running 6.0 or walking 3.0 at an incline of 7% is up to you. Because it's so individualized this workout is for anyone - those new to working out, those recovering from an injury, and hard core gym rats alike will all get a good workout here. Though every workout incorporates the treadmill (or bike or elliptical if you are treadmill averse or have an injury that prevents you from getting on the treadmill), rowing machine, TRX and weights, every class is different so you won't get bored. The workout is based on the theory of EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) which finds that getting your heart rate above 84% of your maximum heart rate for 12-20 minutes will boost the calories you burn for up to 36 hours after you've stopped working out. At the end of every class you get a report with your results which shows you how many minutes you spent in each heart rate zone as well as an estimate of calories burned. I don't really think about this too much, all I know is that Orangetheory got me in the best shape of my life. And your first workout is free and there's no contract to sign. What have you got to lose? Try it.

I was required to provide additional documentation and jump through hoops, with no proper follow-up. I never received a copy of my contract upon signing it despite requesting it. The studio showed no concern for member well-being and came across as money-hungry and unethical. Proceed with caution.

The bad side: you can't play basketball with the kids, because the adult games don't care about kids and will run them over without thinking twice. If the kids aren't in a class, not a whole lot they can do. The fix: make the upper gym for families and kids. The downstairs for adult pickup basketball games.

We signed her up for the 25/26 school year and she has been flourishing, making friends, and learning Spanish under the supervision & support of her teacher. This past Friday, we walked into what I can only describe as the most unprofessional & shocking incident. The teacher was no longer employed there and the management was extremely rude and disrespectful. Not to mention there's literally one week of school left....and now the kids cannot graduate with the teacher they have been with since the beginning. I don't understand how the management, Chris Ardent and Hope Delaney, can do something so harmful to our children especially when they decided to do this all on a school day when we were all there to witness the mess they created. They said they were always thinking of the children but then why would they pick a school day to let their teacher go in front of them? Totally unprofessional. I am heartbroken and shocked that this "faith based" organization would do something so hurtful . I'd also like to mention that Chris Ardent stated he would be available to sit down with us parents but he was conveniently at a golf outing.... Needless to say, An email will be sent to Katy Groh who is the executive director of the Southwest YMCA. The way this was handled should never have happened in front of our children. We expect a faith based organization to conduct themselves in a better manner.
