It's a niche exercise facility obviously...you're basically coming there for hot yoga -- the regular class, slow flow, candlelight or beginner - all those are pretty self explanatory. They also do lots of workshops that are fun and generally on the weekends. Their sound system always seems on point- never too loud or too soft. Each teacher has their own style of playlist but I usually love all the music choices here. if you haven't take yoga classes (esp hot yoga classes) you may balk at prices but from going to other places, their prices are some of the most reasonable in the city. And if you're not sure and are new you can try the "10 days for $10" special where you can try out as many classes as you like in 10 daysfor 10$. It's hot in the studio (seems to go anywhere from the 80s to over 100)so bring a mat sized towel (and maybe a small one too)a long with your mat cuz you're probably gonna sweat! Don't have one? bring a beach towel - that works too! or rent or buy one from the studio. You can also rent or buy mats, and they sell other little accessories and water. Props for class are free for use. Only thing to remember is there's no showers-just changing rooms and bathrooms, and parking is pretty much street-only (with a lot of it being metered.) Even in the dead of winter, my best friends and I made a commitment to attending hot yoga sessions. When we arrived, we walked into the facility, and there were areas to place our belongings and shoes. The room we did yoga in was large, and had mirrors lining the walls. The classes were packed, so spacing our mats was hard, but we made room. Shows how popular it was! We began with beginner sessions and moved up to harder classes. I had a great time and loved how calm I felt after! We also took classes that were simple flow and stretch. I have not returned since COVID but I did enjoy my time at this facility! I was aiming to be 10 minutes early (which would have definitely been more ideal) but I'm a disaster in the morning (maybe disaster is a bit harsh but, let's just say--I'm not a morning person). They have mats for you to borrow or you can bring your own. They also have blocks, straps, and blankets. If you go to a class you'll need all of the above. Fortunately, I met a friend there who gave me the lay of the land. I went to their Tosa Yoga Flow class, which is a great class for beginners. I'm 100% a beginner and felt quite comfortable. They also have a gentle yoga flow as well as a mellow flow + restorative, which are both also good for beginners. If you're more advanced, their strong flow class may just be for you! After getting situated with my mat and props, the class began. Our instructor was clear, kind, and inclusive. She provided judgement free alternatives to moves so that you could do what feels comfortable. After the class, they informed me that they have a deal where newbies get one month of unlimited classes for $49! Even better? My $21 that I paid for the drop in could be applied toward the newbie rate. I signed up and am looking forward to trying a variety of classes this month! I'd always been a little intimidated by group fitness classes full of women, but one day I just said "screw it!" and I attended my first (FREE!) class. I expected a tough, full-body workout, and I got it! But what I DIDN'T expect was such a warm, welcoming, judgement-free, and encouraging group of women. The owners, Nikki and Christina, will know your name the second you walk in the door and can always be found chatting with clients. I can talk all about the physical results I've experienced from barre classes (because they're there!), but it's so much more than that. It's a lifestyle studio. More importantly, I've gained confidence, I've found a workout that I look forward to doing, and I've gained some amazing friends. And, yeah, the first class is always free :)

The classes I…read morego to are Barre and Bend and Chill and it is my favorite when they are scheduled back to back. The instructors are so kind and amazing! Corissa is my go to instructor but you can't go wrong with any of these amazing people. Bend and Chill is by far my favorite class at Afterglow because it really helps me reflect and meditate after a long day, week, or whatever it may be. I take a picture of my mindfulness card at every Bend and Chill class to help me continue to grow and focus on healing!

There are plenty of evening and weekend classes that fit my schedule, but weekday ones, too. They also offer several different types of classes - different paces, different ability levels. The instructors, Jozi and Kelsey, are really skilled at what they do. With two instructors, you get variety in teaching styles and flows. It keeps my short attention span happy. Each class was challenging and left me feeling great afterward. The space is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The instructors are incredibly thoughtful in their direction of each class, down to the lighting and music.

There certainly is a sense of community and they have monthly themes for classes to keep everyone engaged in a joint focus. They also do a number of fun events and workshops to mix things up. Bring a towel (your mat may get slippery) and a water bottle; try a few teachers and see who you vibe with. No one cares if you take a ton of breaks, so it's low stakes to try it out.

The fitness studio is on the second level of a cross fit studio (aka an old auto mechanic garage), but once you find your way to the second story yoga studio, it's a perfect experience from there. The studio has small class sizes, 3-6 people generally, and good class pass/deals periodically. I did the May Cleanse pass which was 30 days of yoga for $30- an incredible deal. They have the same deal right now for teachers, which unfortunately I am not. There's a good variety of classes/instructors. I have enjoyed Marissa's Friday Easy Warrior class as a perfect way to end the week and have found all the instructors helpful and informative, while not being too pushy for beginners. I recently started going Wednesday's nights which include a much tougher flow practice for those who like more movement and less meditation. Would highly recommend, and like most studios- your first class is free. Getting there: The studio is right off the Oak Leaf bike, so it's very convenient (and healthy!) to get to by bike, or there is plenty of parking lot space if you choose to drive. Enter the main door, and head straight back to the stairway to take you to the second floor. There are generally crossfit folks lounging or stretching and can help point you to the stairs if needed.
