Happy 1600th Review!! I have been saving Barre Element for this milestone review since they have been my latest love as the fitness industry is allowed to slowly reopen with strong restrictions. My heart aches for the fitness industry as I began my early career for a fitness company's corporate office for 5 and a half years. Many of my former coworkers and close friends experienced hardships due to the pandemic. On top of that, my former go-to Barre studio in Irvine, Cardio Barre/Ever Barre did not survive the economic downfalls of the pandemic... Thankfully I was able to find Barre Element through the Mind Body app, and I absolutely love it!! Prior to signing up, I called the business to make sure they were for-reals ready to open. Liz answered my call and she was extremely sweet and professional. She informed me of all of the safety precautions and what I needed to bring to the class. After my conversation with Liz, I was so reassured and positive about the studio that I committed to the Intro 1st Month Unlimited ($99). Covid Safety - Everyone takes their temperature at the door. Clearly marked 6 ft distance in the studio. Limit capacity to 8 students. Extra efforts into sanitizing, air filter and uv light disinfecting. Covid liability waiver. Virtual classes also available on Zoom if you are not personally comfortable with going back to the studios yet. For any first timers, you will need grip socks. Available for purchase if you do not already have your own pair. Definitely bring water!! Mats are available, but I like to bring my own. Be ready to experience soreness after your work out!! There is a board on the far end of the studio indicating which fitness props you need for the day, such as weights, resistance bands, weight ball, etc. Don't be late!! And let your instructor know if you have any injuries/issues prior to class. I have been to so many classes and I love all of the instructors and the other ladies who take class. Everyone is absolutely lovely and we all send out positive vibes, encourage and love to each other. Shout out to my Barre BFF Fran!!! We met in barre class quite recently but if you see us interacting, you would think we have been BFFs for everrrsssss. Here are a few of the classes and instructors I have encountered. In chronological order to be fair :) Barre with Ci'Monique - My first first first class here and first real work out after months of being lockdown in the pandemic was with Ci'Monique! I love her energy. This class is designed to help tone and lengthen lean muscles. The combination of movements help strength your core with added elements of cardio and sculpting exercises. Her energy and music selection really helps keep me motivated and pushing to do my best. Classic Barre with Mary - Less cardio and more traditional dance movements. This class aims to lean and lengthen. Mary is super sweet, but her work outs will still kick your butt! Barre Intensity with Christina - I loooove Christinaaaa!! Her classes are tough, but she always reminds you to listen to your body and provide alternatives for more or less intensity. This class combines pilates, dance and functional fitness. It is a full body work out and you definitely leave feeling mentally and physically stronger. Barre Intensity with Vanessa - Similar style as class mentioned above. When I got to Vanessa's classes I can expect a good toning work out because she is preparing for her wedding and I am preparing for my friend's wedding so I really appreciate the arm leaning movements despite how much I melt in class. She sticks it out with us the entire time to reach her own goals. Yoga Sculpt/Yoga Sculpt EXTREME with Celia - I love Celia so much but her work out definitely made my fat cry. I sign up for classes based on my personal schedule and availability so I didn't read when I signed up for. When I came to the Yoga Sculpt I already died, and apparently I signed up for the EXTREME version the following day. This class is a combination of Barre and PiYo, so there is a lot of isometric exercises with added vinyasa flow. It may seem like simple movements, but your body will definitely feel the burn. In addition to loving all the classes, the instructors and fellow barre ladies, Element Barre has an amazing merchandise section. I have purchased cute cute shirts that Liz has designed, a decent amount of grip socks and even cute fashionable hot pink weights that I use outside of class too. I just love everything about this place. I am so grateful to have discovered this hidden gem to help me pursue my personal goals and just be the best version of myself I can be. I always catch feelings for physically super fit guys, so I better stay in somewhat decent shape to keep up :) read more

I was a founding member here from 2013 when they opened as Xtend Barre. It's changed hands twice now, with the second owner (Michelle, who was fantastic) moving away from the franchise and creating her own brand with the help of her wonderful staff. New ownership has changed the studio beyond recognition. COVID made the studio go virtual and then reopened on a limited basis when the state relaxed closure orders briefly in June. Despite current orders to stay closed they continued to offer in studio classes while only mentioning virtual classes on their social media and covering the front window with a heavy drape. I requested to freeze my account and the owner, while honoring my request also chastised me for having to pay processing fees. I canceled my membership immediately after that. A month later she messaged me again, rather incoherently, telling me not to come back after seeing an Instagram post where I'd referenced the "studio that doesn't really exist anymore." No worries. I have no desire to patronize a business that demonstrates this level of unprofessionalism and chooses to operate as normal during a pandemic. read more

I absolutely love Barre Element. It is so much more than an exercise studio. The classes are challenging yet you can work at your own level. The instructors are well versed in their formats and offer cues and modifications to prevent injuries. I love the variety of classes and variety of props weights, bands, balls,TRX, Pilates circle,Kettle bells ect. I have been coming to barre element for almost a year and I love the variety of classes, the cleanliness of the studio, and the professionalism and attentiveness of the instructors. The schedule has time slots that work for every schedule including my own which is tough to find because I'm a bartender. It feels like a community which is different than some other studios I have been a member at. The classes are challenging and fun, which is what I always look for at a workout studio. Had a terrible experience at Barre today. Never and I mean NEVER have I had a trainer that is not present to her members needs. My class was a regular TRX with Celia. first and last time with her. Long story short I left after 22 minutes in class. I love this place it is amazing and do recommend it. What happened today will not discourage me from being a long-term member as I was before. I do understand that we can have off days but not when your lack of being present to your job affects the member. read more

Just started two weeks ago and lost 7lbs already! I've met about 4 different instructors and everyone is so different but super fun and nice. They keep it interesting and makes the class session go by real quick! I'm a beginner at barre and they made me feel welcome, comfortable, gave me tips on how to improve my postures and also how to prevent injuries too. Michelle the owner is so kind and helpful as well. She's not snooty like some other places I've called for information, I could tell that she really wants to share her enthusiasm and love for barre. This is a total body workout- I am always dripping with sweat by the end of class, BUT you move the entire time and I've never once not felt challenged. For people who are self conscious about moving or not knowing the steps, its a very welcoming environment, and for hardcore gym junkies, you can usually step it up and modify positions to give yourself the challenge. Love love LOVE this barre studio! The instructors are amazing, and the classes produce serious results. As someone who does not enjoy traditional gym workouts or running, this has been an amazing way for me to get in shape while having fun. I love the fact that no class is ever the same, and the combination of cardio, weights, and pilates/ballet technique keeps things interesting and challenging. I come from a dance background and enjoy being able to put my old training to use, though dance experience definitely isn't needed. very happy I decided to try this place out! All of the instructors are very encouraging and I always appreciate when they come over to me to help me fix my form. If something is too difficult, they offer modifications. The classes are a full hour, which is awesome! The management team Liz and Michelle have been so considerate and kind to me. So far I've taken almost 20 classes and no new class feels like a repeat of a previous one. I always feel so accomplished at the end of each class. I was recently invited by my daughter-in-law to attend a Restorative Yoga class at Barre Element in Laverne and I wanted to thank you for an amazing experience! I work at a local university in a position that at times can be very stressful, and as everyone is these days, am always busy. Rushing forward in life, I had no idea how much I needed that class! With the candlelit room, the soft music, those wonderful heavy blankets, and gentle voice of the instructor, everything on my mind, the stress and concerns I did not realize I was carrying, just rolled off my shoulders. It's hard to express what I felt other than it brought back a feeling of youth and simplicity (high school being over 50 years ago, that is quite a feat!).
