The small group environment has made me enjoy and look forward to coming to my workout, even if the work outs are hard (in a good way)! it's so so rewarding to see progress. I have only done 2 workouts a week here, but even with that, I have seen and felt results. One of my biggest goals was to be able to do a chin up and I finally was able to accomplish it. I also feel so much stronger than before. I highly recommend this gym to anyone that needs that little push in the right direction. Also... the trainers and staff (Danny, Sam x2) are so friendly, engaging and just great people.

At Gold's Gym, I meandered from machine to machine, half-heartedly gave the treadmill a go and looked over at the free weights section like it was the boss fight that I wasn't leveled up enough to attempt. I would lose a pound here and there but it was all just so.. boring. Alio doesn't do boring. Every day there's a new circuit that works a different set of muscles than the previous day. Add in the music and lighting and Alio makes Gold's look like the Wal-Mart of gyms. Danny and Sam are amazing trainers. Don't know what the heck a sumo squat pulse is? They're there to demonstrate and watch your form to prevent tweaks. Not sure what weight you should use for a single arm kettlebell swing? They're there to help you figure out what'll work for you. On the other end, if you're someone who loves a challenge, they are ready (and willing!) to make a circuit harder for you like adding in extra cardio and/or going up on the weights/reps. The best part of Alio Fitness Club? Results! I've personally witnessed many people get in shape here ranging from people whose goal was weight loss to others who put on serious muscle, it's always inspiring. As for myself, Alio has turned me into quite the flex-addict.. If you want gym results but dread the monotony of #gymlife, try out Alio Fitness Club!

The San Antonio North location has a wonderful family atmosphere and the instructors are always careful to give both the light side and the heavy side to the routines. You get a great cardio workout followed by some intense body sculpting routines - sometimes with weights. For those who don't want to go to the floor, there is usually a standing version of the routines. At the San Antonio North location, everyone is friendly and encouraging as we all work up a sweat.

My daughter loves going with me. The instructors are great. They know how to keep it interesting and fun, and an excellent workout. The hour class includes both cardio and strength training. No, your email just said to wear gym clothes, and to bring water and a towel. "Well, you need gloves for the class. We have a pair for sale for $20!" Okay then, count me out. /Scene. Way to waste my time and gas! No mention was made of this requirement on the site or in any of the THREE emails I received. The confirmation message literally states, "all you need to do is show up before class starts and you're ready to go!" Either the person I encountered was trying to make a quick buck, or their setup is deliberately misleading so that you'll arrive pumped for a workout and just pay for the gloves so you don't miss out. I've taken kickboxing before and I'm particular about my instructors. I don't own my own gloves because I don't go consistently. Other gyms I've been to have loaner pairs specifically for first-timers, even if they do push for you to purchase. I'm not about to shell out $20 to participate in a free workout I don't even know if i'm going to return to. After my visit, someone called to schedule me (not realizing I'd been in), and didn't have anything to counter the points I brought up or explain why the gloves weren't mentioned, just kind of vaguely saying they're small so they don't have room for spare gloves? Kickboxing is a great workout, but the lack of customer service here is a turn off.

Workouts are different every time (less signature workouts) and as challenging as you want to make them for yourself. Coaches are great with their individual personalities shining through in music selection and encouragement style. I enjoy working out but struggle to do so in a typical gym setting as I don't know where to start/what to do/how to do it. Orange Theory plans the work out and demonstrates proper form to help reduce potential injury. I usually tell friends & family this is similar to military PT (physical training) in that you show up, someone tells you what to do, and you do it. That said, there is music and you set your own pace to get the workout you want. Whether doing a 2G/3G for a mix of cardio and strength training or taking a dedicated class to focus on either cardio or strength, I've never regretted a workout at OT.

I love the small class size and while the classes are tough, my body feels better, is definitely toning up and I sleep better too. I love the individual attention the small group classes allow and how they focus on different muscle groups each day. Every trainer I've worked with leading the classes has been excellent....encouraging and pushing me to increase my strength but modifying exercises when needed to avoid injury. I'm no athlete, yet Kenny manages to work with my limited capabilities to get me stronger and more flexible. After little more than 8 weeks (despite me ignoring diet or aerobic exercise discipline), I managed to lose over 4% body fat working out three times a week with Kenny! I also lost over 2 inches on my hips-- and I'm 57! Now I am encouraged to keep going, to lose the weight I've gained since menopause, and to keep getting stronger and get my full range of motion back. With Kenny's training and expertise I get to benefit from diet recommendations (gum had carbs, who knew?) and yes, even aerobic exercise. I'm going to try jump roping with one that has a counter in the handle. I'm looking forward to being leaner and fitter in 2019.

I'm addicted to the spinning classes the have on Tuesday and Thursday mornings come say hi yall! It has become a regular part of my routine, and I always leave feeling energized. I've also tried a few yoga classes, which I've enjoyed. One small note: if you forget your own mat, they do provide some, but a few of them are a bit worn--definitely an area that could use some improvement. The pool is on the smaller side with four lanes, and it tends to be busy when I go. I'm not much of a swimmer yet, but I'm hoping to get some laps in. There's a Whole Foods in the same shopping center for your smoothie needs! I love this location!
