WOW! What a great experience from start to finish. After reading all the great reviews this was the only company we looked into. Not only did Rick answer our call immediately on a Monday morning, but service was provided three days later; we thought for sure with summer being here we'd have to wait weeks. We couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received! The gentlemen that came to the house were on time, very friendly and professional to boot. The installation took no time what's so ever and when we thought "Oh no, what a mess they made!" they cleaned almost everything up (still needed a woman's touch, lol) and we couldn't believe it. We were thoroughly impressed. We have been going on a little over 24 hours now and what a difference our upstair's temperature is. We're glad we waited for the right company to fit our needs, but man why did we have to wait so long! I am posting this review because I am less than happy with the service I received on April 25, 2024. The gentlemen they sent out had no uniforms with identifying properties and the truck had no identifying marks. The gentlemen they sent out were very nice and did the best they could with what they had. The hoses on their machine kept breaking apart sending insulation EVERYWHERE. In the house, into the garage, into the car. what a mess. Time after time this happened. They spent more time cleaning up the mess then actually doing the job. I don't blame the gentlemen doing the job as they were sent out with faulty equipment. There is more to the appointment and I will have to finish in another post. We requested quotes from barrier for spray foam and fiberglass installation. The quote process was smooth and straightforward. The problem came afterwards, when we accepted their fiberglass quote. They ghosted us! We called and emailed repeatedly trying to schedule the service, and they never responded. I suspect the fiberglass quote was not in good faith -- they pushed the much more expensive spray foam option very heavily, I would guess it is better margin for them and they are not willing to do fiberglass. Well, that's fine, but then they shouldn't give a fiberglass quote! We wasted about 2 weeks because of this unprofessionalism. Summary: they may be a fine company where it comes to spray foam, but their fiberglass quotes do not appear to be good faith. Seek elsewhere for fiberglass. read more

Rick was amazing to work with. They came 2 days did removal of installation and then 3rd day sprayed attic with open cell foam. Amazing. Helping all of us understand the difference between open cell and closed cell and all the variables in it. The reason why I'm updating this review is because once the job completed I noticed fiberglass all over my laundry room. This being like the didn't do at clean up at all when the job was finished. The owner of Barrier Installation is Arix Medinaku and he has told me we were going to receive the owed money. Everytime I call him or text him he will not answer the phone or respond to my text. Glad I called and selected Barrier to do the insulation work on my home renovation project. I received three to four bids on this job of removing my old blown in insulation from my attic, and installing foam insulation to two exterior walls and under the roof decking in my attic space. Barrier was not the cheapest bid by far, but the most knowledgable for sure when you talk with Rick the owner. You need to be real careful on who you choose to blow foam in your attic/structure, the cheapest contractor can end up becoming the most expensive and causing you long term headaches and problems down the road. Do your research on this, the installer can be in-experienced, which leads to other problems, they can be using cheap Chinese foam, causing sick building syndrome, etc. These guys have you covered and protected from those very real and potential issues, using spray foam insulation. My ac guy told me I have practically no insulation need to get asap to fix my cooling problems First one I reached out to was barrier at AZinsulation.com Rich called me and gave me my two most cost effective options gave me the quick rundown on what's the difference and didn't pressure at all. I did due diligence called other places couple in the same range but a tad more until they tell me of add on for this add on for that I immediately emailed Rich back to see what hidden fees to expect. He said none the price I told you per sqf is it. I replied let's book. He realized I want it ASAP and got me squeezed in 2 days later. His son and another worker came by 6am. So nice. Price is fair and the quoting process was easy. All works were done on-time and my home is quite clean after the work was done. Communication throughout the process was quick and all questions were addressed. I personally inspected the work in the attic and it looks good. My heat pump probably only turned on half as much as before, the home temperature and humidity seems to fluctuate less. They are priced competitively but probably not the cheapest around. However, I always trust licensed, bonded and insured contractors more. read more

Nothing about this experience was good! The contract stated 1.5" of spray foam on the walls and 1" on the ceiling of our 20' storage trailer. The salesman was informed that the foam needed to be level with the studs. The first day the crew came out they spent hours sleeping in their truck due to either a break down of equipment or having the wrong materials for the job. Okay that happens. After the boss came out and left again to get them going they sprayed and left us with a horribly over-sprayed container. We called the company to let them know this was an unfinished job and asked them to send the owner or a manager out to take a look. We were told they were told the job was completed. Also, there was no one in management available to come out so could we send them some pictures. We sent the pictures and they agreed to send another crew out to "fix" the job. We called again to ask them to please send a manager. Someone needed to see how bad this job was botched. 3 or more inches of foam hanging from the ceiling and the walls went anywhere from bare metal to well beyond the studs on which we needed to be able to screw material on for the walls. The "fix-it" crew came out 2 days after the first and after trying to cut the now solid foam with a rotary tool and a knife became disgusted and the lead commented that they didn't have what they needed to fix this. Not even the right foam to fill in the blank spaces left by the original crew, as my husband found out when he asked them if they were going to be able to spray over the old stuff. They told him they had roofing foam and it wouldn't adhere. After doing some clean-up and realizing they didn't have the right tools for the job they, along with my husband, started talking about leaving. One of the guys said that it didn't make sense to scrape any longer if they had to come back again. At this time my husband said he believed they were "beating a dead horse". The crew didn't have what they needed (now for the second time) and they were completely unprepared. Again we called the company and asked them to send someone out to take a look and again we were informed that no one was available to do so. What?? We told them from the start that we were on a time crunch with this project and now we have a trailer that we cannot even use due to the horrible over spray and no way to remove it. We have since had to purchase another (already insulated) trailer, putting us way behind schedule and the company is coming after us for payment which is less than half of what the new trailer has cost us and they are lying about the facts of what happened on the job and threatening to take us to court. read more

Bought a house as a fixer upper... lots of fixer. Phoenix in summer not a good time for the aircon to go out. Aircon guys said you have little to no insulation left. Called some insulation guys... nobody home. Called Barrier Insulation... instant response, instant understanding of my issue, instant review of the needed solution... now this you won't believe, he had a job delayed... he could get to me the next day. Barrier guys were two professional technicians that knew exactly what to do. They were in and out and everything was spotless. No clean up required by me. We went with R40, I highly recommend. Here's the real news, while the new aircon was a great upgrade, about an hour after the Barrier guys left, I was a bit chilled. So I checked the temp setting, the same. So I turned it down about 5 degrees. I immediately noticed the impact of the new insulation. I highly recommend Barrier, I recommend them so much, I'm going to have them re-insulate my rental property. I'll report on that later. read more

With short notice and working around each other's schedules Rick, the owner of Barrier Insulation, and his crew pull off the near impossible, they removed my old blown-in insulation just in time for the HVAC team to install my new heating and cooling system. Jeff who headed up the insulation removal team, hustled and worked with the HVAC guys to keep on schedule. While insulation removal is a messing and thankless job, Jeff and his crew never complained and kept the mess to a minimum, cleaning up after themselves as they worked. Once the HVAC system was installed, Tommy and Jake took over and completed the insulation job by spray foaming my entire attic in just under two days; again cleaning up after themselves and leave the job without any mess. For anyone else out there thinking about spray foam insulation, I did the research and it's the only way to go for the weather we have in Phoenix. Regarding Barrier Insulation, I did the research on them as well before I contacted Rick for an estimate. They were highly rated with both the Registrar of Contractors (ROC) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) giving them high ratings, making them the best choice for my work. Scheduled an appointment for been 6-7 am making the scheduler fully aware of a prior engagement at 1100. At 8:00, no one had showed up, so I called. The same guy says they are running a bit behind but assured me they would be there before 9. At 8:30 I get a call from the installer who says they should arrive between 9 and 10. I call the scheduler back and tell him that is not going to work, he seemed put off and I reminded him of my previous engagement and told him I don't want his people to rush and I don't want to rush. He agreed to reschedule. After two weeks of the run around, I finally got another appointment. I was told I would be last on the list but they would be at my house by 2pm "at the latest". 1:30 and nothing. Called and he says I am next on the list and they are about half way through their current job. Asked how long the jobs usually take, he says an hour, sometimes an hour and a half. Assured me that they would be at my house by 3:30. Installers called at 10 after 4 and I told them to forget it. Obviously don't know anything about keeping appointments or proper scheduling of time.
