Four stars for being open early and the danishes. The shop itself is cute surrounded by art. The coffee itself is very mild. I wanted a nice stong latte. I'm used to adding flavoring to my lattes. The only option they have is maple and mocha. I had to try them, both of course. The mocha was just that. The maple is very subtle, e ough to just sweeten my latte. We tried the ham and cheese croissant, loaded with ham with a nice crisp croissant, very good. We also enjoyed a cherry and yogurt Danish and strawberry and cream Danish. Delicious! read more

What a great little unique shop! Every wall is covered in one of a kind decor and there's several different areas for seating, including a larger coach area good for small groups. this is a small business with a pretty limited menu but their coffee is solid. Not as strong and bracing as most coffees it is smooth and creamy and pleasant to the taste. The workers were all very kind and polite and the prices were very good, much more reasonable than most coffee places. I recommend getting a shot of maple syrup in your latte for a nice vermont touch and a bit of sweetness. Jake the owner is friendly and serves fresh baked goods along with hot and cold drinks. It is much more than a typical coffee shop. Customers are each greeted with excellent personal service at the counter from Jake. After getting your order, there is an array of unique choices to sit down. A Comfortable sofa and chair, handmade unique slab wood counters and coffee tables, traditional tables and chairs, and outdoor seating give plenty of options to Nest. I love this coffee shop! I love the smell, the baked goods are amazing and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. The coffee is roasted on the premises and is amongst the best I have ever had. I still need to try the cold brew but I love the latte so much that I haven't switched. Their scones, quiche and nest muffin (with egg, chorizo and cheese) are all my favorites. The owner has even set up a mini bike repair station out front. This may be the best quiche I've ever had in my life. It is everything that you want. The feeling is light and rich. The vegetables retain a bit of crunch. The crust is perfect. My latte is good. Hands down the best coffee shop in the area. I have been to MANY a coffee shop. I am very picky about my coffee shops. This one hits all the marks. It is the perfect place to work on my laptop, to read, and to catch up with friends. The windows are lovely and help make you feel like you're not stuck inside a cramped space. I also appreciate the outdoor seating when the weather is nice. There is a wide variety of seating -- a couch for groups, small tables for one-on-one, and bars for solo laptopping, reading, or philosophizing. The treats at the Nest cannot be compared to anywhere else! Not only do they have amazing sweet treats (poptarts, INCREDIBLE scones, and cookies) but they also have savory, filling foods. I especially love their quiche (many varieties) when my husband and I want something more substantial with our coffees and books. I love the coffee and have enjoyed my occasional chais and mochas. They have a coffee card for repeat visitors. I also appreciate the various options for milks and sugars (stevia, almond milk, etc.) My one suggestion is that they could do better with eco-friendly stuff like composting, making the recycling bin more visible (it's around the corner), and encouraging mugs. I always ask for a mug, but it would be nice if this was the standard (or perhaps an incentive to bring your own mug? Maybe this exists already, I don't know). The best thing about this coffee shop is that it is within walking distance of my house. It is also just full of nice, normal people! Although I'm not a coffee drinker, I enjoy the interesting variety of teas at Nest, hot and cold. The baked goods are amazing... coconut macaroons... my fav!! The decor sparks conversation, local art hangs on the walls, and it's a great spot to meet a friend or study by yourself. The giant table is really cool (although it's a little wobbly). The good: it's a beautiful space, with some good baked items. The bad: it's supposed to also be a coffee shop. Nest suffers from the devastating blow of the most inexperienced of inexperienced baristas, seemingly without a guiding hand to even know where they are going wrong. We got 4 espresso drinks and 2 Chai lattes over several days, all were nearly undrinkable and one was, well, hot semi- flavored water (it was also the first latte the barista had EVER made). Their machine and grinder are excellent, so they have potential (maybe they are new with growing pains). What they need is quality assurance, stat. Fix the coffee and it will be great. Tl;dr- excellent baked goods, confused 15 year olds attempting expensive espresso machines and failing. Credentials: world traveling coffee snob team, proudly owning a La Marzocco GS3 and a Compak E10 conical grinder. read more

The Nest is everything you want in a coffee shop: spacious yet cozy, a wide variety of seating, sunny and well-lit, free WiFi, scrumptious pastries, and most importantly, THE BEST (and most reasonably priced) maple latte I've had in Vermont. The hot chocolate is also great - deliciously rich and frothy, perfect for warming up on a cold winter day. The baristas were efficient and greeted me with wide friendly smiles.
