    Barron Heating recently designed and installed a two-zone heating and cooling heat pump system for my home. I wanted two zones as I have a one-bedroom guest apartment above the garage and the heating and cooling needs vary. Everyone I interacted with at Barron was responsive, knowledgeable and exuded competence. Barron has extensive experience with Daikin heat pumps and I wanted that brand based on past good experience. I now have a state-of-the art two zone system that is working flawlessly. My monthly heating costs have dropped from almost $500 a month for propane in the winter to less than $100 per month! I had a maintenance issue about a month after install. When I called Barron, they were able to send out a technician the same day and within a week workers arrive to resolve the issue. While Barron wasn't the lowest bid, their bid was competitive and they have the most experience, responsive customer service and they stand behind their work. I highly recommend them and I am pleased with my new system. If you use Barron you will get a reliable system installed and designed by competent people who care about the quality of their work.

I used them 3 times, once to install a…read morewater heater (great experience; original review), a second time to repair a gas leak (things went terribly wrong), a third time to investigate this oily burnt foul smell in the kitchen (dissatisfied). PROS + Most of the people at NES are nice. Chris in Sales is professional and easy to work with. Dan, the own, went out of his way to make things right when my gas leak repair went REALLY bad. CONS - When I had a gas leak in the garage, this one technician misdiagnosed and replaced a gas pipe that was not leaking. A few hours after the technician left, I called them to ask to send the technician back as I was still smelling gas in the garage. The receptionist REFUSED to send him back because she did not believe I was still smelling gas. As it turned out, the technician had replaced a line that was not leaking. After spending several hours, the technician finally located where it's really leaking. Unfortunately, this is not the end of my ordeal. They put a temporary hookup so that I can at least use the water heater before they can fix the leak on a later day. Then, the temporary hookup leaked! It was after hours, but I called NES and left a message for the on-call person. I ended up having to call the Cascade Natural Gas emergency line as I did not receive a call back, and Cascade Natural Gas shut off my main gas line. Because of the misdiagnosis and the failure to respond to my after-hour request, Dan, the owner, gave me his personal cell number in case I have difficulty reaching them. - The same technician was sent to my house a couple days ago when I requested to investigate the foul smell I noticed in the kitchen. Ok, the previous time, he was reluctant to investigate the issue any further as he thought he had fixed the leak. This time as well, he was reluctant to do anything. First thing he said was "I don't know what to tell you." So, I asked him to at least check for a gas leak. 10 minutes later he left, and I received a bill for $92.40 ($85 trip charge plus tax). As I requested a service call, I did pay (the entire bill), but I expressed to the office my concerns about this technician's unwillingness to help me TWICE. I am not even calling this technician incompetent, but it's a waste of money at least if he's not willing to help his customers. The office promised me to send someone else in the future. It is my Yelp review policy not to name names to avoid "public shaming." However, if you're considering to hire NES and want to know which technician I'm talking about, please PM me.     Not a customer, but a neighbor of a customer. There was no reason why their van had to be parked on…read morethe sidewalk, but it was. This sidewalk connects two sections of a heavily-used recreational trail, but because it was parked on the sidewalk, people had to walk into the street to get around it. Lots of elders in this neighborhood use that sidewalk for their exercise. There isn't a sidewalk on the other side of the street that people can use instead. I contacted the company via FB to let them know, but got no response. I'd waited an hour before posting here hoping that my FB message would prompt them to move it. Didn't happen. It was parked there for at least an hour before I went to FB. I know who I WON'T be calling for HVAC services. Rude, y'all.

The tech Michael came out and immediately seemed perplexed by the issue but after about an hour and a half of messing around determined that it was the main control board and that he would get me a quote for a replacement part and to come back out. He then billed me over $350 for the diagnosis. I then waited a couple of weeks pestering the main office to get my quote for the repair. Guess how much? $1500. $1000 for the part and another $500 for labor and tax. I have some connections and managed to source the part myself for less than $300. I've heard of cost plus markups on parts but triple the cost.....really? I got Clean Air and Michael to agree to come out and replace the part using the part I sourced and only charge for labor. Guess what? After spending another hour or so replacing the part there was a new error code and the fireplace still didn't work. Michael promised to reach out to Napoleon to help him diagnose the problem and get back to me when he had an answer. That was 4 weeks ago and I never heard from Clean Air or Michael again. Like a fart in the wind. Gone. Not even a courtesy call letting me know that they had no idea how to fix my fireplace and sorry about me wasting $1000 on a part and 2 useless service calls. I guess I just had it coming. In the end I called Innovations. Their tech came out found a high limit switch tripped and reset it. No parts required. Less than 30 minutes to fix it. Thanks Innovations. You rock!

    I hired Darrell to inspect my two chimneys and install two chimney caps. Of the several quotes I…read morereceived his was the best and most honest. His knowledge of everything about masonry was on point and generous. My quest to cap my chimneys started this past spring when an adult Swift bird got into the gas fire box because the flue had fully opened up during a recent wind storm. Fortunately the pilot light for the gas log set was not lit and we were able to let the bird into the house, capture it into a garbage bag and release it unharmed outside. A few weeks later we were startled to hear the chirping of baby swifts in the same chimney when mom or dad dove down the chimney to bring them food at the tiny nest they built just above the flue opening. We had to endure the loud chirping ~ every 7 minutes for two months as the chicks grew and finally flew away. Darrel did a great job finding the right caps of different sizes, chipping some cement away from the one chimney liner to expose enough of the liner to attach the cap and even painted the chimney crown with some grey Flex Seal I had on hand to seal it until we replace it and the other two crowns when we sell our 35 year old home in the next year or two. Darrel did not want to charge me for the extra paint step but I compensated him anyway because he is an honest, knowledgeable businessman working to build his new business. He was flexible and accommodating with the scheduling. Price negations were also very professional and I feel like I god a great value for the work he has performed. The project was to prep a fireplace for installation of wood burning insert stove and involved grinding out of external face cracked mortar between bricks causing internal fireplace leakage. Darell comped pickup and delivery of the fireplace insert and installation from the total cost of the project. As he was performing the job he recognized that the upper condition of the mortar was in a better state, and did not need repairs, so he refrained from fixing what wasn't broken and lowered the cost of the job. Later on when called about some follow up questions he was very accommodating and provided plenty of his time to consult on operation and maintenance of an insert fireplace. He earned my trust to confidently reach out to him for any further fireplace upkeep questions.

He generously and/or appropriately gave me a refund of a portion of the price I paid to a figure I felt was fair. I accept that my experience was the result of a sales person who is either in the wrong job or was having a bad day. When I have a need to return to this store, I will choose to be helped by a more considerate sales person. Original post. I've never purchased furniture at Samuel's myself but have accompanied friends who have and have, myself, been impressed with the selection of quality items and the staff who helped in my friends purchases. On October 15, I entered the store in search of an end table for a particular spot in my house. I was greeted by Mr. Van Den Berg. I explained what I was looking for and we moved around the store but found nothing that seemed right. He suggested I look around and he proceeded to sit at his desk. As I walked by, I saw an interesting piece that was near where he was sitting and was obscured by a fake plant that sat on top. It was marked "Hue Round Stool" # 12532 or 928419. It was made from laminated wood that made up a conga drum-like "stool". The glue had obviously failed from severely shrinking wood and there were cracked seams around the entire item. The SALE tag showed it to be marked down to $119 from a regular price of "$259". It was in very bad shape for the quality of what the store sells, but it was perfect for what I was looking for. I asked if it could be marked down more and I received a cold and emphatic "NO". I was tired of searching for the right item and agreed on the "as-is" price. While Mr. Van Den Berg was writing up the sale, I noticed on the attached tags that the original price tag indicated that the regular price was $199, not the $259 which was the MSRP. The sales tag was blatantly misleading. I pointed it out to Mr. Van Den Berg and noted that this "table", which was really a stool and would have sold at a garage sale for $20, wasn't even half off. All he had to say was that he would point this out to management. I proceeded to pay for the "table" since it was what I was looking for even though it was, in my opinion, over-priced. I asked if it could be carried to my car and he said he couldn't do it and nobody else was around. I carried it myself. I have to say, I am happy with the "rustic" table, but not happy with the experience. Most people would have seen this item as something to use in a garage or IN the fireplace. So much for my taste in furniture. I feel that I took it off their hands and would have praised Samuel's for selling it at a reasonable price.
