Marr's just installed a ductless system in my home and I love it! Kyle came out to my house a couple weeks ago and worked with me on where everything would go and how the job would be done. He did a great job of answering my questions and working with me on changes I wanted. A crew came out a couple weeks after the bid was accepted and worked all day installing the system. With all the work they did, I'm surprised they were able to do it all in one day. I have to say, the whole crew was courteous and professional and took great care to not damage my property or furniture. After the install was complete, the equipment installation crew chief and the electrician explained the function and maintenance of the system, and answered all of my questions. We can not say enough good things about Marr's Heating and Air Conditioning. They installed a Carrier furnace and Regency gas fireplace for us last week. They were prompt, pleasant to work with and did exactly what they had promised. They are a family run business that provided service far above their competitors. Nolan was our sales person, and I must say he was very thorough in assuring the furnace was properly sized and fit our needs. He even went into our rather tight crawl space and examined all of the existing ductwork which was fortunate, for he discovered a sizable leak which they repaired during the installation. Marr's is fabulous! Rarely have I seen a company so on top of things. I was referred by a friend who had an excellent experience with them. He is very particular and was very happy. So I went with them. And I was so happy that I referred them to another friend who had a very complex situation. His work is still in progress, but he was impressed with how they are planning to solve a series of challenging situations for him. My first personal encounter with them was through Kyle. While I could not appreciate all the technical details that he shared with me since this is foreign to me, that he did so was amazing including visuals from a well-prepared notebook. He explained their plans very well. I then had a confirmation with Jacob Jr, the owner. Wendy is a fabulous coordinator who provides incredible and helpful details and organizes fantastically. Another amazement was that what she told me to expect timing-wise was spot on--not so typical for companies coming to your home to work on things. The guys who showed up to do the work here--Jacob C., Trevor and Nick--were so nice and efficient, and my two days with them working here felt undisrupted--another and unexpected bonus. The electrical work was contracted through another company using Josh Rankin who is absolutely wonderful. I later had contact with Sheila in accounts payable who was extremely helpful and readily solved a small problem for me. The paperwork she sent me was great including virtually completing paperwork, as far as she was able for me, for a rebate, which was completely clear as to what I needed to do. Easy! When the city inspector came to look at all their work--furnace, air con and electrical--he kept saying beautiful. Repeatedly. I was also impressed by learning that they often are called in to fix the work of others--their work, rare if that, as I understand. In short, they are informative, clear, organized, technically skilled, reliable, did what they said they would in the time they promised. I had another company come out and they noticed that "both" these Air Filter boxes are NOT sealed, as there are huge gaps as seen on photos. When I called V.Pres Jacob to let him know that a few unsealed items needed to be fixed, I was told multiple times that he was done and V.Pres Jacob hung up the phone. This is a brand new job that I paid over $55,000.00 for and I am told they will NOT fix both these issues. Very concerning that Marr's Heating does NOT stand by their work. Please see attachment that Marr's put on my Invoice stating Marr's Workmanship Guarantee, and 1-year Buyback Guarantee, when I emailed asking for details on either of these V.Pres Jacob told me to stop emailing and to stop calling them. How unprofessional is this, as they did the work, and I am not allowed to get my job issues resolved or be able to ask Marr's any relevant questions. Also, I found out that several things were NOT put on Mechanical Permit, and I have contacted and notified the City of Ferndale of this and they are looking into this, as V.President Jacob at Marr's Heating signed a "self certification" document for my Permits, as (3) items were on permit for (2)-Gas Furnace's, & (1) Air Conditioner, but following items that were to be permitted were not on permit (1)-Noritz Tankless System, & (1)-Pool Heater Raypak 266a. As a homeowner I am relying on Marr's to put thru all required Permits, and to stand by their workmanship, as my Invoice states "includes all labor, materials and permits required for the job". (I can submit a copy of my full invoice if you need it) The more I look into things the more I become concerned as I trusted Marr's Heating would stand behind their workmanship, and I am finding that if you question anything you are left, as V.Pres Jacob told me to not call him again. read more

I recently had an annual furnace inspection done. I used Marr's for the first time this year, and I'm pretty happy that I switched to them. Scheduling + It was easy to schedule an appointment. The receptionist was very organized. As soon as I was done with the call, I received a text with an appointment confirmation and other pertinent information. - One thing I was not too happy about is that I had to wait for just over a month for the appointment. I know it's a maintenance appointment and was not urgent, but a month seems a bit excessive. Technician (Joel) +The technician was on time and very professional. +There are several things that the company I used to use never told me. 1. The technician asked me about the thermostat. 2. He also told me how my furnace is burning; he actually gave me a measurement of some sort with reference point. 3. He checked the temperature at one of the vents. I was so happy with the technician that I decided to purchase their maintenance program on the spot. I basically pre-paid for next year's maintenance, which gives me discounts as well as other benefits (https://www.marrsheating.com/hvac-services/maintenance-program/). COVID Measures +The technician was wearing a disposable mask. He ware shoe covers. There's a $3 PPE surcharge. +They don't take your old filters for safety. I'm really happy that Marr's convinced me to install a couple of heating and air conditioning pumps in my home instead of trying to repair or replace my existing heater and duct system. "Old systems really can't provide for air conditioning, and trying to get them to work effectively would require a very expensive re-do," Kyle explained when I first asked for an estimate. Newer technology would be more cost efficient, he said, and I would really see a difference. He spent a couple of hours working with me so that the estimate really helped me to understand how everything would be installed. The job and the new equipment were going to be expensive, but I was assured that it would be worth it. Kyle, Jacob the owner, and the entire Marr's team couldn't have been more helpful. From the time I contracted for the work, Wendy in the office kept me up to date on costs, payment options and scheduling, (because of shipping delays during the pandemic, I had to wait six months for the installation). Rewiring, setting up new ducts through my garage and crawl space, all went like clockwork thanks to Casey and Zane, (a shout-out to coordinating electricians), and the job was completed in less than two days. I am very satisfied with the way the work was done, the neatness of how all fitted into place, how all had meticulous planning behind it. The equipment is awesome and looks so well in my living room and bedroom that it's hard to imagine that it wasn't part of the house when it was built! Having owned an older home in Bellingham for over 30 years, I've had contact with many service companies and technicians. They went the extra mile when I discovered my furnace failed me on a cold Friday morning. They had put me on the schedule for an evening call on Friday but when a technician became available early, they jumped right in. The staff was very friendly and did a great job with the install. They used drop clothes shoe covers and took special measures to unsure our home was protected while they worked. Jacob spent the time to ensure I knew how to operate the remote and discusses care and maintenance even though all of that is covered in the manual. We got 4 quotes in total before selecting Marr's. Honestly, they weren't the cheapest, but the estimator, Kyle, was by far the most thorough of everyone. He did a full, proper load calculation (manual J) that involved measuring all of the windows, inputting the insulation values of our, walls, floor, attic etc. If you're looking for new HVAC for your home, I cannot stress enough the importance of doing this. Without it, there's no way to know what size system you need, and the sales people are just guessing otherwise. Based on that experience, we decided to go with Marr's in the end, and they just completed installation of a 3-zone, Mitsubishi Hyperheat heat pump system. It is so much better than our old gas furnace (that almost killed us...). It's only been a few days since the job was completed, but so far all of my interactions with everyone at the company have been great, and I'm glad we choose them. read more

Our water heater went out over the summer leading into fall. I called to discuss things with the Manager Brandon, who stated they couldn't get out right away, nor work on the plumbing based upon some State restriction. However, he recommended me to another company he felt would be able to help, which ultimately led to the unit being fixed. I decided to call Marr's again to join their maintenance program for our Mini split unit, as I felt his kindness and knowledge with our other issue needed to be repaid via purchase of their services. They had a representative of their company come out, Jaron Franklin, who carried on the kindness and education/knowledge that Brandon had during our initial conversation. Jaron cleaned our unit thoroughly, recommended services we should update to ensure the longevity of our heating/cooling unit, and educated us on ways to use the unit without putting undue stress upon it. Make sure you have these guys and come and do a estimate. St the minimum have them be in the running. I had 3 places cone out and you need to pay attention to what's said and what's done. Everyone has been polite and courteous helpful knowledgeable. They might not have been in business the longest in the area but their system works and works well.
