The community is aesthetically pleasing, the apartments are beautiful and cozy, and the amenities included with the unit are worth the price in my opinion. However, the experience became unfavorable due to discriminatory behavior towards low-income renters and Section 8 recipients. Initially, I was informed that they accept Section 8 vouchers. I completed two applications and was initially told that my credit and income did not meet the criteria, which was conveyed to me before I informed Marta, the property manager, that I possess a Section 8 voucher. When I disclosed to her that I had a Section 8 voucher, she instructed me to fill out another application and submit my voucher with the application. I did so but didn't hear from her for days until I called her several times. She finally filled out the Landlord packet for the voucher but never confirmed with me that she had filled out and sent the voucher back to Section 8. I was informed by Linden Section 8 there was a potential landlord packet submitted. Linden Section 8 sent them an offer, which Marta refused due to a low offer. It is well-known that Section 8 does not pay market price for rent, so landlords who accept Section 8 vouchers should be aware of this. I felt misled and disappointed. Now I understand why there are numerous negative reviews regarding their property manager and leasing practices, as well as a high turnover rate for the community. It appears that Michael the maintenance manager, is the only highly respected individual at Lindcrest Apartments, and I was eager to meet him based on the numerous positive reviews about him. I intend to contact the mayor and Governor Murphy's office regarding Lindcrest Apartments.

My apartment is almost too quiet (unless I have the back door open and am sitting on my non-fire escape patio). Yes I miss the subway, yes I miss my local bar, but damn this place is amazing, and anyone who tells you its not is being completely facetious. Coming from the city makes this place feel like literal heaven in terms of communication, and transparency. How do I know Woodbridge Hill is a safe, comfortable and a nice place to live I am living at Amberton Town House in Naples. 1. For some reason every month the rent changes 2. I couldnt rent for 12 months or it would be more money so now I have to rent for 15 months 3. someone broke into my place and took a shower, ate my food and left my place a mess 4. The gym is so small you cant swing a cat in the room. 5. The pool is smaller than what is one the website also one of the tenant every weekend uses the pool area with their friends, boom box, bbq and no one else can use the pool when they are there 6. There is no parking for guests, people race their cars up and down the street 7. My AC broke a week after I moved in and the maintenance guys could fix it for 4 days and gave me a portable AC in my place but it didnt work 8. My toilet would not stop flushing and it took the maintenance guys a week to come and fix it These things may seem like nothing or easy fix but these guys here dont compare to the work you and your team does at Woodbridge Hill. When I went to maintenance or management here they dont care about anything but rent here. I cant wait for my lease to be up so I can move. We actually watched our apartment being built which was really cool. We had an OKAY experience. To let people in the building, a guest types in your apartment number & it calls the phone number you used to set it up. For example- my fiancé & I both lived there. He was away on business & I had my parents stop by. When they came, the call went to his phone while he was out of the country & there was nothing we could do about it. He just had to let them in. The pool rules are SO WEIRD. You have bands for entry but can't have guests. Hours are strange. No music allowed. Basically no fun allowed lol There is storage underneath the building but the amount of space you get is ridiculous. Don't bother try to store your Christmas tree down there because it won't fit. You can store your bike though, it kind of just hangs on the walls. There are carts available for residents to use to bring things to & from your apartment. There are only 3/4 for 2 entrances & you're supposed to bring them down back to the door when you're done but no one ever does. Imagine going to the grocery store, coming home to get a cart & there are none, so you grab as many as you can, get all the way up to your door & see a cart someone left in the hallway- ANNOYING. People do that all the time. When you get the keys you get an actual key & a fob. The fob is what you scan in order to get into the building, you use the key to unlock & lock your door. They also give you ONE key for the mailbox. Washer & dryer in unit- HATED both. The dryer always stopped when it shouldn't have. We got the Kodiak apartment design, which we liked because there was a little nook which we thought would be perfect for a sectional couch. We were told that the nook runs through the entire building because that's where the old factory's elevator was- pretty cool! The bedroom closet we had was sad. It was barely a closet. We had zero space for our clothes. The #1 reason we couldn't stay there, we outgrew it before we even moved in. VERY nice game room & community area on the first floor near the lobby. That's where we had our housewarming party- we had 70 people come!!! I doubt they let anyone have parties there after that LOL FYI The building is along train tracks & the trains are LOUD & sometimes run in the middle of the night & early morning.

For the avoidance of doubt, if you move here, you are at the mercy of the Property Manager. To be clear, this Property Manager constructively dismisses any colleague who is smart and has an ounce of common sense or calls the Property Manager out on their lies. Two staff have left so far and the only one that is left is the one that they are able to put the fear of God into (or they are just plain stupid for staying). Here's a few updates for you since my first review: 1) The landlord does not care about you. You are nothing but a check for their shoddy construction efforts. 2). First Amendment rights are not welcome here. If you write a negative review (like here on Yelp!), the Property Manager will be sure to consult with Counsel and see if you can be evicted (which you cannot). Heck they will even send you a Cease and Desist notice based on trumped up allegations, that under a deposition at Civil Trial would be shot down because the allegations are B.S. and the accusers are friends and employees of the landlord. 3). If you withhold rent because of their shoddy construction and the fact that the unit has habitability issues, you will be sued. How dare you stand up to this landlord for their poor workmanship. 4). You offer to pay said rent just to get rid of the headache? They will limit your options in an effort to get you evicted. 5) Contractors will deal and imbibe in Schedule I drugs and then return to work. (This likely explains some of the construction issues). Does no one here care about Health and Safety? 6). Have kids? Don't move here. Contractors will whistle at minors and the Property Manager doesn't give a damn. You will be advised that Construction have been notified - doesn't help in the event that your child is kidnapped and killed. Seriously, do we know who these people are that the developer allows on site, particularly when they don't care about your complaints and rock up to the job looking like they were picked up off Rt 18 that same morning. 7). Friends of the developer will be up in your business. They know who they are and they makes no apologies for the fact that they are "a friend of the developer". B*tch, sit your ass down, no one cares, least me and if you open your rat mouth again, the community are likely going to verbally put you in your place. 8). Liar Liar, Pants on Fire. That is what our Property Manager is called. Don't address them by their name because Liar is exactly what they are. Anything to save their ass and protect their job. According to their version of events, I withheld rent because of a cracked sink and a couple of other cosmetic issues. No. I withheld rent because of your cheap construction. Issues with the air conditioning, the electrics, the overall quality of construction, the problem with the mantle getting so hot it would likely combust and a laundry list of other issues - you know, stuff you would never tolerate yourself. Guess what? If you had done your job, we would NOT be here right now, but we are because you cannot do your job. I moved to suburbia for a quiet life, to take my foot off the gas and chill out. The renewal rate is also very VERY fair compared to other properties i have lived in where the renewal rate is incredible at 5% or 7%! Additionally, the new management is incredible in everything they do. This management team cares about their tenants and go as far as possible for their tenants which is much more than what other properties do. This to me feels like this management cares about giving back. Yet, what is incredible to me is how people never want to write about their good experiences and only relish in highlighting the bad. Heating and conditioning has been nothing but great. Compared to where I lived in Jersey City where no one cares about getting things done right away AND rent rates have skyrockets for a tiny apartment, I find that living here is beyond great. The people are friendly and the town is in excellent location close to malls, parks, in the center of northern jersey. When I visit new york, I enjoy a 10 minute walk to the train station and before I know it i am there. Best part is that the train is near by and you cant hear the train go by! One thing I confirm is that you can hear your neighbors sometimes but not as exaggerated as the other reviews. If we all pay attention closely when driving around, you can see that most buildings nowadays are built of wooden structures all over jersey which is the reason why this happens. THIS IS NOT ANYONE'S FAULT. What matters to me is that the building is kept clean which it is immaculate and that maintenance is reliable for emergencies and everything in between. Gabriel the current super is amazingly kind and humble, he goes out of his way for anyone. The maintenance is incredible because although they don't have to, they even clean and remove the snow off of everyone's car who is not covered by the garage which are only a few spots. The walls are very thin, so it was easy to hear neighbors. Another concern was that some dog owners didn't keep their pets under control. My children were scared several times while using the stairs, which made them uncomfortable in their own home. Maintenance and management were also disappointing. Issues we reported were rarely resolved in a timely or effective way. The Wi-Fi was extremely slow and often difficult to use. The most frustrating part was the yearly rent increases. Instead of offering incentives to loyal, long-term tenants, management seemed more focused on promoting referral bonuses. After years of rising rent without meaningful improvements, we decided it was time to move elsewhere. I'm not sure if tenants didn't just respect Edwin, the the manager, regarding noise complaints or something else. I appreciated the years I spent here, but I hope management addresses these concerns to improve the experience for future residents.
