Enjoyed everything that we tried. The bartender was great. The sweet potato tower was my favorite.

Fun dining experience at Barrows house. Waiter was lovely (did pick up a drink that was t quite finished yet) great atmosphere inside. Apps/ salads were very good. The cheddar cheese burger was very creative, but very salty. The kids streak was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Would definitely return on another trip to Manchester

    Arancini - so good!

My favorite restaurant in the area by far! Sit outside on the patio if it's a nice day; it is gorgeous and they have frozen cocktails in the summer. Service is excellent - attentive and friendly. And the food - AMAZING. On our most recent visit, they brought everyone complimentary arancini - so good, and the sauce was perfection. Make this your next spot for a date night or celebration.

You can't miss this place as you drive by as their outdoor seating area is very inviting! Lots of tables & many heaters throughout make it a place you want to visit. I liked the menu very much - plenty of casual food & entree's although this place is pricey. We both got cheeseburgers as we wanted a casual meal. The quality of the meat was awesome & the burgers cooked perfectly. I enjoyed my fries immensely & my husband subbed his fries for mash potatoes which he liked. Dessert was a tasty apple pie which we loved & plenty for 2 people to share! Our service was good despite the long walk the server had to make to go inside. This place was practicing very safe measures for COVID. All in all, a great experience!

Stayed 3 nights. The accommodations were great. Spacious bathroom (for an inn) with a walk in shower and very clean. Fresh towels every day. Highly recommend. Came with breakfast vouchers for the Dorset Inn owned by same hospitality group (I think). The food was top notch. We came to VT expecting to eat at the restaurant once and then explore... we ate there each night. Everything we ordered was great. Staff super friendly and suggested a few items on the menu that didn't disappoint. We ordered: burger and chicken with stuffed bread first night, osso buco and salmon the second night and wings, crab fritter fries and a salad the last night. So many opportunities for a dish we didn't like ... but it never came. Compliments to the chef. This is a hidden gem. At least we think so. Maybe it is better known in and around this area. We went for a ski trip. Will be staying here when we return for all future ski trips 100%

While the ambiance was okay, the service and food was not as expected by other reviews.

It was the perfect setting for a memorable holiday dinner. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with friendly, attentive service from our server, Jamie. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and rich with history, making us feel like we had stepped back in time. We started with an Old Fashioned made with Smugglers' Notch bourbon for me and a refreshing Blueberry Refresher for my wife. The homemade cranberry fritters served with Vermont maple butter were an outstanding way to begin the meal. Next came bowls of the delicious Cheddar & Ale Onion Soup, followed by the Maple Butter & Walnut Encrusted Brie served with Vermont apples and toasted baguette--an excellent combination of sweet, savory, and crunchy flavors. Our entrees were preceded by fresh field greens salads with balsamic vinaigrette and blue cheese crumbles, along with warm, freshly baked bread. I thoroughly enjoyed the Traditional Pot Roast--tender brisket slow-cooked in the tavern's Circa 1790 Amber Ale with rich pan gravy. My wife chose the Scrod with pumpkin seeds, butter, Chardonnay, and lemon, which was perfectly prepared and beautifully balanced. To finish, we shared the Cranberry & Apple Crisp topped with local vanilla ice cream and whipped cream--a fittingly New England ending to an exceptional meal. The combination of outstanding food, welcoming hospitality, and the unique historic atmosphere made for a wonderful dining experience. If you're visiting Manchester, Ye Olde Tavern is well worth a visit, especially if you're looking to enjoy classic Vermont cuisine in one of the state's most historic settings.

With the Americade motorcycle rally underway in town, it was tough to find seating but the staff made it work for me and the tour group that I was traveling with. It's a nice, rustic-looking restaurant. The manager made the rounds to say Hello to us and he made sure that we were doing okay. In the interest of speed, I ordered a salad bar and the soup of the day which was Goulash. It was very good. The salad bar had everything I could possibly want in a salad and it was replenished regularly. The tuna Mac salad there was awesome. The salad bar is $15 if you don't get an entree or appetizer. Perhaps a little steep but I think it might be all-you-can-eat. As a petite person, I probably don't eat enough. From the window, I had a great view of the outlet stores that Lake George is also famous for. I had to fight to the urge to go shopping. Perhaps another day! We had a slight mix-up with the check for our table but the staff took care of the issue quickly and it wasn't a surprise because the place was really packed. Nevertheless, I thought service was really good. Thanks, The Log Jam. You had a log jam of customers but somehow you made it work. We'll be back.

It was all edible, but there were problems with every single thing we ordered. We started with the marinated mushroom & sausage flatbread: one of the better items and fairly tasty with a tomato sauce base, could have used a tart element like a balsamic drizzle to wake it up a bit. My husband got the Korean bbq burger, which at $27 was honestly a bit insane and doubly so when it wasn't good. There's not a single thing that was wrong, the whole conception is an epic fail. A beef burger should not have an intense taste of soy. Sorry, harsh but true. The exorbitant price is insult to injury. The ham and cheese croquettes should never have been offered with the cinnamon sugar dusting. Another bizarre pairing that makes no sense in your mouth and adds nothing. The dijonnaise was good if a bit mild... amp up the savory flavor and put more ham in the mix with a touch more salt please. Finally, the Public Salad was a good base but needs a bit of a vinegar component to make it sing. I'd recommend red wine vinegar, just a small splash in the dressing. Overall enjoyed it and the chicken was adequately moist. Thank you for having us.
