I'm 83-I've bought numerous new/used cars over the years. Buying a car is rarely a pleasant experience. I purchased a new Hyundai vehicle a few days ago and felt good about my transaction and was particularly impressed by two of the younger guys (Ean and James) and their knowledge of the Santa Cruz, a new model, and their patience in explaining the various features to this old coot. I'm surprised by the number of negative reviews of this dealership on Yelp. Well, it's usually the unhappy people that give reviews and those of us who are happy rarely review. I chose to review in order to mention the two younger guys who were so very helpful in acquainting me with my new vehicle. Why didn't I give 5 stars? The Coke machine was out of all soda offerings. I was given a bottled water which was appreciated. I know an outside party is responsible for the Coke machine, but the inside party should demand better service from the outside party. I'll update later when I've had an experience with the Parts and Service Departments. read more

I have personally worked for this company, and I have several friends who have worked here as well. Unfortunately, there seems to be a constant turnover of general managers. Each new manager arrives believing they can completely reinvent the dealership and transform it into a larger city-style operation, only to discover that the dealership already has a well-established reputation within the community--and not necessarily a positive one. In my opinion, meaningful change will not happen until the company takes a hard look at its culture, ethics, and leadership practices from the ground up. The dealership continues to struggle with inconsistent management, favoritism, and poor treatment of employees. I've witnessed situations where strong performers were let go despite producing results, while other employees were held to entirely different standards. Dedicated employees who consistently showed up and did their jobs were often scrutinized over minor issues, while others received preferential treatment. In one case, an employee lost his job despite showing up and working, seemingly because management needed someone to blame. When decisions like these impact people's livelihoods, it affects far more than just the workplace. My hope is that leadership eventually recognizes the damage these practices cause and makes the changes necessary to create a fair, ethical, and professional environment for both employees and customers. read more

I called because my 2022 Tucson needed an engine. I wanted to make sure it was covered by warranty. The service writer that answered had no idea how to run my vin to check warranty coverage. She said she would get prices on a new and used engine and call me back. She never called me back. I worked at a Hyundai dealer in Southern California for 18 years so i know how it's supposed to work. Actually ZERO stars!! read more

I went to get service done on my truck and they tried to tell me I need a new motor when all I needed was new lifters. they tried to charge me 7k I said hell no went to another shop and got it done for 1k now my truck works fine. terrible show room couches are worn all the way out still have a 2008 tv inside the show room watching the news from 2010. they kept saying things where slow so I wonder why. my first and last time ever stepping foot there. 0 stars read more

I was working with a very nice salesman named Brayton but then the GM took over the conversation and he was extremely rude. I pointed out the discrepancies in the deal that was offered and was met with defensive and unprofessional comments rather than a clear explanation. The advertised price of the vehicle was $25k but when I received the full write up the loan would have been for $42k. This was with a trade with $8k negative equity but with me putting $13k down. The loan should have been for $20k and his explanation was that they include dealer add-ons, which obviously every dealer does but $12k worth of add-ons? Perhaps not. When I questioned this, I received a text back "We have been very transparent, ma'am. I have disclosed EVERYTHING you asked for, just not the way you want it. Every dealer has fees and dealer add-ons, and NONE of them will tell you about them until you are there, or they will "sell" a car out from under you when they lie to you and get you to believe them. Math is math, and we can't go retail for yours but wholesale for ours. I will remove you from our text list". This should be a good enough reason to stay away from this dealer. That response was not the only response; it was just the response that prompted me to stop replying and decided to report to the BBB. You have a customer walking in with enough cash to cover their negative equity, knowing they will have negative equity on their trade and willing to cover it plus put money towards the new vehicle you can't get away with hiding fees. He didn't like being called out on his lies and he reacted in such an unprofessional way, it's no wonder he has worked for multiple dealerships. Terrible choice for a GM. read more

Started with me calling and asking for some details at 9am, was told by salesman I would get a call back. At 2pm I called again. Totally forgot who I was, and couldn't remember what vehicle we wanted. Quoted a new vehicle at $22995 on every vehicle sales site (Car Gurus, Autotrader, CarFax, etc) possible, as well as there own website. Told us that was the price. No mention of special requirements- surprises, you have to have 3 big toes, special blood type. NOTHING. We were driving an hour to get there, so confirmed 3 times by phone there would be no surprises. Confirmation received. At the signing, revoked the price and said $29,000. Said we would have to work our way down via rebates, offers, etc. NO MENTION of this anywhere in print for ads for this vehicle, and never referenced in the 3 verbal confirmations before our 1 hour drive to get there. Randal McKnight, the sales manager at the dealership, should be ashamed. Good luck using those practices in a "small world"! How do you sleep at night? If I would have seen this dealership only had a 1 star overall rating on Yelp already, I would have saved the gas and the energy. Saddest part for Barry Sanders Dodge - I not only bought the same vehicle a few hundred dollars more from Fowler Dodge the same day, but will be buying a second one! Barry Sanders Dodge lost 2 sales, completely because of the sales management's unethical practices. I suggest you buy elsewhere as well! The Barry Sanders Supercenter has limited inventory, and if they can get over market price for their Jeeps, I have no problem with it - but I won't be one of the suckers. My problem with the experience I had was the ever-changing details. To give an example, they were really pushing their financing, offering a better price for financed vehicles, even though we preferred to pay cash. In the space of a few minutes, it went from "you can pay it off in the first 30 days", to "60 days", to "90 days". That's just one of several times it happened. I've purchased cars in 4 different states now- and when I'm told "title, tag, taxes, and out the door" it means no hidden fees at the end of a deal. Not with these clowns. their 19 year old finance manager has no idea how to calculate taxes and the general manager who hired covers for the mistakes he makes. Costing us an additional $250 on top of our sale. They also removed the stock carpeted mats (we're assuming they added them to a different vehicle???) they told us the mats were on back order (100% lie after speaking to hyundai directly) we spoke with the service dept manager directly jus to find out that they never attempted to order them nor do they intend to. This dealership is a joke. and the general manager is a thief. Discussed price of vehicle before I drove 1.5 hours to view vehicle. Price was negotiable IF I drive over. Once at dealership would not budge on price and had to finance through them. Called back 1 week later to again try and purchase same vehicle. No return phone call from manager, texted Collin and he only replied he would get back to me about my offer. Have not heard back from them. Now vehicle dropped in price lower than my offer previously given. Worst dealership I have ever tried to do conduct business with. I drove total of 28 hours to get my car home from my purchase at this dealership. Website claimed they negotiated with clients but they were NON negotiable at all and it included a HUGE fee!!. I was uncomfortable with it being higher than listed...I was "offered" "free" gap insurance and warranty but instead I realized they had added close to $3k, not free! It was a horrible experience with how sneaky it seemed to have been rushing me to sign. When I started to read paperwork the salesperson wouldn't let me read it. He rushed me to sign all the paperwork and it was given very tightly stapled and was told I needed to drive car immediately without being given the chance to read bc I then learnt they added MORE fees! Went to the dealership no body greeted us outside Then waited to only to get insulted by the manager. He acted like we were bothering him, he was arrogant and downright obnoxious and demeaning to us. DO NOT trust this dealership. My husband was helping his widowed sister buy an Overland Jeep Grand Cherokee. The first man was very rude on the phone. The second man, Colin, made a 5 o'clock appointment, my husband asked him price and said we want it. We drove an hour and a half got there 30 minutes early! Quality control and work ethic for the diesel techs are worthless here. Our truck has been here twice and both times we have had problems. First time they didn't tighten a clamp on the hose to the heater core and then the intake in to the ATF wasn't tightened after they flushed the transmission fluid. Not to mention thievery of a few items in the vehicle. Unacceptable! And when we called to speak to the general manager he was unavailable. Will not be going back. read more

Service department didn't know how to check the fluid level on my Jeep Renegade. It's a sealed transmission that requires a Jeep specific gauge but you would think a Jeep dealer would know this. I don't want to check one star but there isn't a lower option. read more

I had a similar bad experience with the sales staff. I had found a vehicle that I was interested in, but was hesitant about traveling the 2 hours to get to the dealership. I spoke with someone who called themselves Damien and he assured me everything would be fine all the way up until I left to make the trip to the dealership. I got there and Damien was not there only a salesman saying they did not have the car I wanted in stock and trying to sell me on another one. Well, Barry Sanders Supercenter Service Department has graduated from Barry Sanders Supercenter POOR Service Department to Barry Sanders Supercenter NO Service Department. While on a return trip from a doctor's appointment in Oklahoma City, this 84-year-old lady, at noon, pulled off of I-35 at Guthrie for a hamburger and a nap. (Not unusual, as most return trips from OKC involve time out for a nap.) Finished lunch, lowered driver's seat to a reclining position, and proceeded to take said nap. All's well.....so far. However, when naptime was over, I was unable to get the seat to return to upright position. Checked GPS, Guthrie apparently does not have a Hyundai dealership. Closest ones, Edmond to the south, Barry Sanders Supercenter to the north. (Which, in the past, has been where all of our car maintenance has taken place.) Never daunted, the aforesaid 84-year-old took off, with confidence, toward Stillwater. Uncomfortable, but doable. Fast foward to pulling into the welcoming open door of the "Service Department". Employee courteously greets me. Checks with (I presume) the manager, returns to the auto with the announcement that an appointment will have to be made. (Did not ask how many days it would be.) I just replied, "Nevermind," backed out of the drivethru, and left - at this point never to return again. This is not the first - nor even the second - incident of customer failure on the Service Department part. We may have learned our lesson....finally. read more

Read all the reviews on Yelp before make the drive (I didn't and wasted more than 3 hours on a drive from Tulsa to Stillwater.) The other review descriptions of bait and switch approach to pricing new cars is exactly what we encountered today. Buyer beware and go in knowing that you will likely be treated well up to the point they start talking pricing. Their internet AI/rep, for the most part, is carefully going to tell you what you want to hear and then the actual humans in charge will jack you around once you get there. Barry Sanders Super Center is an unethical dealership that will coarse you in with false information. I had reached out to Barry Sanders Super Center (BSSC) based on a vehicle that I had found on their website. The initial conversation between myself and the sales representative indicated that the vehicle I had inquired about was available and an appointment could be scheduled for a test drive and to talk numbers. Unfortunately, I live in the Tulsa area and driving 1.5 hours with a lease trade in and to test drive a vehicle to simply see if figures were "close" was not justifiable. With that, I reached back out to the sales representative and explained the situation. He advised that I should utilize the BSSC website trade-in appraisal to see if my current vehicle would be "close" to what I was looking for. I followed those instructions and notified the sales representative that the trade in value received was somewhat low, which he then assured me that the figures provided were always very conservative as they hadn't had a chance to do an actual appraisal. This was the first lie. At this point, I wanted to make sure that the highly reduced price advertised online was feasible. I proposed a rough purchase price, with the understanding that my trade in would need to be appraised to ensure that my payoff was close. The response I received was that my proposed "deal" was definitely close and that we should be able to make a deal. Lie number two. From this point, I decided that the visit to BSSC was worth while. However, to play it safe, I confirmed AGAIN that the proposed "deal" was somewhat achievable. He again confirmed that the numbers were in fact close and that I just needed to make sure that I qualified for the necessary rebates, but "that shouldn't be a problem". At which, I decided to make the drive. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a gentleman which was not the sales representative that I had been speaking with the last two days, which is understandable as they're job is to work the online deals and to speak with the potential customers. We went ahead and test drove the vehicle and had my trade-in appraised. At this point, I thought all was well...until the "numbers" were presented. The new salesman (third week on the job) provided me with the BSSC "up front" pricing. This pricing showed my trade-in at $3k under what was illustrated on their website and a vehicle purchase price that was $14.5k above the "close" deal that was discussed. I was confused and asked why these figures were so outside of what was being previously discussed with. He of course was not sure and went to get his Sales Manager. The went through the 3 pages of "rebates" that I needed to qualify for (every single one) to get to the "close" price that was discussed. These ridiculous qualifications ranged from being a first responder, CNH Owner, Credit Score under 640, finance through Chrysler Capital, Lessee trade-in, etc. I asked who is ever able to qualify for ALL of these and his response was "maybe 1 in a million". At this point he also stated that the sales representative I had been working with was not even qualified to make the decisions that he and I had discussed prior to my arrival. I voiced my concern stating that not only did an employee flat out lie to me, but they're advertising unrealistic/impossible pricing online. He apologized for the inconvenience, told me the pricing advertised was out of his control, that I should have read the fine print on the website and that there was nothing he could do for me. Long story short, if you find a vehicle at BSSC for a price that's too good to be true, look elsewhere. They'll tell you anything to get you in the door in hopes that you'll fall in love with a car and pay the exorbitant, unpublished asking price. Online the price was about $56K and he wanted me to pay around $70K. Ridiculous. read more

Horrible customer service. Talked with one of the many Internet managers they have, which I don't see why they have two when they took over a week and a half to no even reply on a specific car that I wanted. On top of that, when I spoke to one of the Internet managers, he was saying how the other one was at a wedding but I was like: OK well I emailed, I texted, I called, and I was sent to voicemail several times. Everything you can imagine to get a hold of the guy, and no one else seems to wanna jump in and help with a simple sale. Christian was semi passive aggressive and rude saying "do you want me to help with a vehicle OR NOT?" Then I've spoken with their sales manager wade, who wasn't at all any better. Their internet price went from $18,500 to $24,500, saying I didn't qualify for all the incentives. Shocker they would advertise something that included all the incentives where not one person would ever qualify for everything anyways. Such a scam customer service and awful way to waste peoples time. Don't waste your time with them cause their excuse is their vehicles are in high demand and reason why it's so expensive. read more

Typical Car Lot games.. When my wife came to purchase a vehicle making a two-hour trip out of her way because I was told they would honor a fantastic price she ends up getting there and they have now raised the price over $600 and will not budge walking away would normally be my choice in this situation but we had a rental car that we had to drop off right next door so we were without out Transportation if we did not purchase this vehicle... and my wife would have been stuck at least an hour away from home. I believe this lot tried to trap us into a purchase with this knowledge. I have the screenshots showing the agreed-upon price and then all the BS messages from the salesman telling me how they can't do anything to compensate me for all the trouble in the slightest bit. It honestly would not have been hard for them to do something for me the customer to make sure I was completely satisfied especially when I was dropping all that money Straight Cash that day no financing... I honestly should have taken my money elsewhere out of principal of not getting screwed. But hindsight is 20/20 In the end the car was a decent deal but that's not the point!! The customer service was severely lacking they made the car buying experience hell. They made multiple mistakes and refused to fix them even though they admitted them.. wish I could give a zero on this experience I traveled 3 and a half hours after viewing a truck on a cars.com website I was told by a representative on the phone that the truck on the website was the price they had it for. But after telling us to come all the way up there they changed their price and went up from only being 7995 to 11995 with a $500 fee I express to them this was not the price I saw it at so I tried to pull the price back up on the phone and they kept telling me in my ear that well it don't matter because that website we do not control even though they told me over the phone that this was the price they had it for. So I told them I am not going to be purchasing the vehicle and headed towards my car I got in my car and was getting ready to drive off with my brother and the guy came out and said don't be upset or anything like that come in and talk to our sales manager which I did and was keeping an open mind hoping that they would fix the issue so I won't back in sat down the manager came up to me and told me that lender will not drop the price lower than $1,000 from what they have now which was so he was asking $11000 plus still the $500 fee. I told him that is not going to work he told me well I guess we don't have a deal I said I guess not and I walked out the door. I got in my car and after being extremely frustrated with the situation and being lied too in my face I got in my car with my brother and we left the property I am a disabled retired veteran so if they will do this to me they will do this to anyone. After which I was getting ready to go home we went across the street just to see what we could find even though I was frustrated we went into Bill Knight of stillwater and was able to go home with a car that we liked and we felt that the dealership over there went above and beyond I am not a representative for them I live in Rogers Arkansas and have no affiliation family members or anything like that just tell me the honest truth. My husband called before we left OKC to make sure they still had the car we were interested in and that we could potentially make a deal. Packed our three kids up and my mother to drive an hour and half. Got there and the car was there and immediately we noticed it need some EASY fixes (doorhandle, mirror). Car drove OK but my husband is a mechanic and could fix the small engine noise. Now we head back to the room to make a deal. They would not come down ONE CENT from what they had advertised. This is after they said they would via the phone. LIARS! Then they go onto say that that was their internet price and they can wiggle on that?!? THEN they tell us THEY bought it for 36K and are losing money because its 31K. My husband tells them if that's how they are doing business, good luck because you won't be around for long.
