We met…read moreher when she was in a Children's Memorial group of Asthma/Allergy sub-specialists next to Oz Park where she was one of four or five doctors. My son was only 2 yrs. old when he started having multiple pneumonias. After two admissions through the ER and overnight stays at Children's Memorial Hospital, clearly my two-yr. old had a problem with his lungs. This brought me to the Pediatric Allergy and Asthma practice next to Oz Park where Dr. Newhall was on staff. At first we saw one of the partners who was alright, except I lost confidence when he reversed the dosing instructions for Singulair. He did pronounce my child's Reactive Disease as Asthma; he also ordered a small allergy panel. The boy was allergic to cats, dust, dust-mites, mold, grasses, trees, springtime. There was a newish cat in the house, who eventually had to go back to the shelter. There was a middle of the night visit to the local hospital ER in Wisc. one Labor Day week-end; an allergic reaction to Ragweed triggered an Asthma attack. I made a follow-up appt., first available, and this is when I met Dr. Newhall. She was so kind, gentle nd caring with toddlers. She was even familiar with the Wiggles, knew their songs. What a delight , upbeat person she was; she had little boys close to my son's age. After that first visit, we never saw another doctor in the practice again. Later when she left to start her own practice, I found an the ad in Chicago Parent with her new office address on Lincoln Ave. and followed her there. My son, now a teen, has been Dr. Newhall's patient ever since. Her achievements are impressive; she was educated at the top educational institutions in the country. She has treated my son's mild allergy-induced Asthma with two or three daily medications. When he would have flares, with middle of the night bouts of continuous coughing, we'd go in to follow up. After I described what happened, she would tell me I should have phoned her at home! What doctor says that? One November, my boy had flu symptoms, fever of 104F degrees. This was during the Swine Flu/H1N1 outbreak. The pediatric practice was unconcerned my son had Asthma and now maybe H1N1; the Pediatricians were not prescribing Tamiflu. I phoned Dr. Newhall, who saw him right away, prescribed Tamiflu which cleared flu symptoms, fever within 36 hrs. Another time I called the Answering service on a Sunday night when my kiddo was having a bronchospasm that the Albuterol wasn't touching. Her partner, Dr. Donell phoned back, said try the steroid inhaler. Success. He is just as wonderful, kind, caring and competent as Dr. Newhall. These doctors are a rare pair; a vanishing breed. Do not hesitate to make an appt. Any negative reviews are unfounded.

The office staff doesn't want to take responsibility or feedback for long lags in information (we have been waiting for over a month for simple lab results) or misinformation (we were told wrong information about the purpose and tactics of a visit and next steps). Not only that but when you confront the staff on these understandably frustrating issues they hang up on you instead of being professional, taking ownership and promising to resolve it. I'm very disappointed in our experience here, and we plan to find another child allergy doctor office, if possible. Food allergies impact families in big ways and this behavior is inexcusable.

Dr. Artinian isn't one of those doctors who prescribes drugs left and right (unless that is really what you want) and really takes the time to talk to you and get to know your history before administering. There were a few times he actually deciphered my illness as emotional distress rather than a physical illness then helped me find other ways to cure it. A very gentle and straightforward doctor!

Dr. Lenet is great. He is really thorough and is easy to talk to. He was recommended to me by a…read morenurse who used to work for him, and he was every bit as good as she says. 1.) He's on time! Unheard of in the field of medicine as a whole, as far as I can ascertain. 2.) He speaks to you in understandable and honest terms. 3.) The regular physical is very thorough, and he runs a blood test as part of the normal diagnositic. 4.) He calls you HIMSELF the next morning with all the results from the blood test, so no waiting, no worrying, and you can ask any follow up questions about the results since the doctor is on the phone! 5.) Fit me in right away for a painful, panic-inducing bump, and got me an appointment with a great surgeon 1/2 an hour later to have said bump taken care of. 6.) Got my husband to a great cardiologist when he was having chest pains (which thankfully turned out not to be serious). I have nothing but nice things to say about him!

I am sorry to disagree with previous posters, but after having Dr Lenet as my PCP for over 10…read moreyears, I had to share my experience with him - and it was far from positive, especially towards the end. To be fair, I had few if any health problems for the great majority of those 10 years, and I never had a reason to doubt the quality of care that I was receiving or to question the Doctor's attitude. He actually did diagnose an appendicitis over the phone and thus helped me go to the nearest hospital without delay - kudos for that! However, things changed in the last three years of my relationship with him, when I had a series of very unfortunate events that landed me in hospital every so often. The more I saw of the Doctor, the less I liked and the more frustrated I felt; I felt like I wasn't listened to, that my needs were not being addressed, and that I was ridiculed for being too preoccupied with my health. I even had the Doctor snap at me over the phone once and raise his voice to me - hardly the medicine that he should have ordered. The last straw however were three misdiagnosed problems, which were as plain as the nose on my face. The first case, a classic passing of a kidney stone which he insisted it was not until a CT scan proved him wrong. The second case - I asked for years for help with pelvic floor pain and he literally laughed me off - but once I got the help I needed through another caring physician, the problem was resolved - and my life ceased to be the torture it had been for years. The last case - he said a weird growth was not pathological - but it ended up requiring two surgical procedures a short while after. Overall, I lost my trust in Dr Lenet completely and I would recommend against using him as a PCP if you value your health and quality of life.

I went in for a routine pap and check up on BCBS IL Blue Choice Preferred PPO Gold insurance. Dr…read more Weizner seems nice enough, but he perhaps implemented procedures during that check up that were unnecessary, because the next thing I know, my insurance is billing me $400 for what should have been a completely free check up. Mind you, I'm in perfect health and have no complications that would require non-routine procedures (like the ultrasound was not covered for example... I'm not pregnant.. I'm not totally sure what the ultrasound was for). When I contacted Dr. Weitzner's office, they contacted the BCBS office for me, but to no avail. I've had other check ups at other offices and never had a bill to pay at the end. When I explained my situation to his office (and spoke with him directly), they wouldn't budge on any of the billing or give me a break of any kind. Dr. Weitzner should be more up front when he is implementing procedures that aren't considered routine, so patients have an idea of what to expect in terms of billing.
