The office is located off of St. Clair in the Northwestern Memorial building (and there is validated parking available); the office is very cute, clean, and modern, and I waited less than 10 minutes after my scheduled time (which is pretty much unheard of; the receptionist also apologized which I thought was ridiculous!). I filled out basic medical history and such on their patient portal beforehand, which I thought was quite convenient and makes things more efficient. I was really excited with all the raving reviews on not only on Yelp, but on other health websites that rated Dr. O'Mara. When the doc walked in, she was extremely nice, very knowledgeable, straightforward, a great listener, gentle, professional, and very informative. She listened to all of my health issues as well as my thoughts and opinions, and basically gave me a plan of action. She took her time with me, asking questions, and the whole time, I was not felt rushed! The best thing is that she was very genuine and I was extremely comfortable, being a new patient with all these high expectations! There is a lab on-site, and the phlebotomist, Lauren P., was so sweet and kind, and drawing blood was not at all uncomfortable (considering I have a very low threshold of pain and am such a pansy!). Dr. O'Mara and everyone on staff seems to be extremely detail-oriented and organized (which I absolutely love). The high ratings on the doc do not do her justice - she really is AWESOME. Dr. O'Mara's office is a clean, modern one-physician practice. She exhibits all of the professionalism and knowledge I have come to expect and appreciate from Northwestern practitioners and affiliates. I was randomly assigned to her through Northwestern's physician referral practice after I suffered a serious medical event and I was shocked by how great my experiences with her have been. My initial consultation was in her office, where she interviewed me about all of my health concerns, family history, and really took the time to get to know both me as a person and my health issues. Despite a relatively complicated health history, Dr. O'Mara has gone above and beyond. She takes the time to research issues about my medicine and listens to my questions, no matter how silly they may seem to me, in a non judgmental environment. She has followed up on problems or before procedures through phone calls about things I, at times, hadn't even thought about. She is always eager to explain these things to me. She truly cares about her patient's well being and happiness -- even following up on what I thought about places she had sent me for a referral. In short, I have never received this level of care with any doctor before. Her assistant, Angie, is also very nice and helpful. To top it off, it's extremely easy to make appointments here, and Dr. O'Mara keeps an electronic portal where you can ask her questions, view your test results quickly, and access other features from your visits. For me, it's extremely frustrating during a doctors visit when you feel rushed, confused, uncomfortable, or leave with questions you still need clarification on. This is the polar opposite of the care you will receive with doctor Feldstein. He is attentive, listening to every single question or concern you may have, providing extremely thorough explanations that you can actually understand. During appointments, I never feel rushed; Dr. Feldstein makes you feel comfortable and at ease at all times. For me nothing is more important than feeling comfortable and confident in your providers knowledge and expertise when receiving a gynecological exam. Dr. Feldstein possesses infinite knowledge, and provides unparalleled care. Not to mention he is genuinely kind and cares for his patients. It is never a hassle to make an appointment and the receptionists and nurses are all very professional. I was publicly scolded in the hallway, near the waiting area, as I'm exiting the bathroom (hadn't even closed the door yet) by the ultrasound tech for using the bathroom before my appointment. My doctor never informed me a full bladder was required, yet when I explained I had been in agonizing discomfort, and was unaware of this rule, the tech doubled down, shamed me, and told me I "should have read the packet." "Didn't you get a folder?" "It was in the instructions" "Okay well I guess we can try it anyway, cmon let's go!!" - as I'm attempting to grab my things from the waiting room" No grace, no understanding--just public humiliation while vulnerable and pregnant. My husband and I were so taken aback and stood there, completely stunned. What should have been a beautiful moment to see my baby was robbed by the hostility of the tech. It only got worse. When I immediately broke down to NP Rachel about how deeply upsetting and unprofessional the tech's behavior was, she stared at me with ice-cold indifference. As I sat there crying, she didn't offer a single apology, acknowledgement of what I just shared with her or even a tissue as I'm crying (I literally can't make this up) Instead, she completely washed her hands of the situation, telling me to "talk to Michelle on your way out, she handles all that stuff" Now I'm frustrated, I say "Ok, and who is Michelle? And what "stuff does she handle" "Are you at least going to put this in my notes" NP Rachel - "She is the office manager and she just knows and has experience handling all of that, so yeah she'd be the one to talk to" lmao WHAT?! I'm now flabbergasted by her response and complete dismissal. Never have I had a provider tell me to take my concerns about PATIENT CARE to an office manager. I am your patient, not the office manager's. To top it off, Michelle was conveniently on "break," and my promised follow-up call never happened. It took an entire week and me officially requesting my medical records to transfer care for anyone to even acknowledge me and then I was told the sticky note to call me was lost on Michelle's desk. The incompetence is crazy at this point. Aside from two lovely receptionists named Renee and Maria, this entire practice is a cold, unprofessional failure. If you want to be treated like a human being during your pregnancy, stay far away from this place!!!

Where do I begin? I've been home an hour and I feel like I could go back to work right now. So…read morehere's how the experience goes and I have to start with the excellent customer service I received. Keith who works the front desk is nice, is very professional and takes the time to go over paperwork, the process, payment and scheduling. The "6 question prep" before I came into the office consultation was a snap (my insurance company had no issues and answered everything). The consultation was with Dr. Dragomir Jovanovic in Arlington Heights. He explained the procedure, took time to answer each and every question I had, and he took the time to explain however rare any remote discomfort / side effects that could occur. I was so ready to go after that, I scheduled it for the following week (today 06/27) which was my 45th birthday! I also loved the way they handle the payment. I just decided to make it easy for me. Paid the amount due right there with my credit card and it's out of sight out of mind after that. Today, the only stress I had was traffic. I took the prescribed muscle relaxer 30 mins prior to arrival, and it really helped to "chill me out" for the appointment. I didn't have any really anxiety over the procedure, I just had a combination of Internet reading and my co-workers teasing me about it the past week going in my head. I had the first appointment of the day. Keith was there, escorted me into the waiting area. I did not have to wait long, and if I haven't said it before, I'll say it again. He's a professional and very courteous. I was escorted into a room where Dr. Jovanovic greeted me at the door. We soon got started and the anesthesia application is literally ALL you feel during the whole process. If I had to give it a "1-10" for how much you feel it - it would be a 1 at best. It's like a little poke and it's done. Dr. Jovanovic and I talked the entire time. Complete, funny conversations and before you know it, one side was done and then the other side. He showed me the sections of vas deferens that he removed and a gauze pad which had very little blood on it, and it was DONE! To be honest, without showing me that, you wouldn't even know he did something down there. Dr. Jovanovic and Keith reviewed what to do post-procedure and I walked out, literally 30 minutes later. I couldn't believe how easy it was. I think the most complicated instruction was bathing tomorrow and making sure the gauze is in place. So...I'm about 3 hours post-procedure. No pain, no discomfort. I am not exaggerating when I tell you I could work out right now. Thanks again and kudos to Dr. Jovanovic and Keith. You made this experience amazing and I will refer you the Vasectomy Clinics of Chicago to EVERYONE.
