My foot after getting caught on a treadmill during exercise due to lack of space in their studio
elliot t.

Awful gym, I was hurt here. Typical miami bs where they pack as many people in a class as possible to the point where you hurt yourself. No warnings or instructions from the trainers. Rude and arrogant people at the front desk and a managing partner who wants people to know they TRIED. This place needs to be exposed

Tried my fist total body class with Nikki last month and it was a great experience. Checking in was fast and simple, the person at the front desk welcomed me and gave me a few tips for first timers. This location is really nice; lockers, restroom filled with essentials like deodorant, feminine products, lotion, Q tips, and hair drier. They provide towels, have a fuel bar with a good variety of smoothies and a small area to sell clothes. This one is located in Midtown shopping area so a lot of parking available on the street in addition to the parking garage. You may need to walk a little bit depending on where you park but this can be part of your warmup. The class was high energy and fast paced. Nikki was checking on me to make sure I was doing OK after I told her it was my first time. Half of the time we were on the treadmill and the other half on the floor doing weights. She was talking most of the time providing instructions and encouraging everyone to do their best. The class was challenging, the treadmill being the hardest part for me but I felt pretty good after finishing and even got a comment that it didn't look like my first class so I guess I did pretty well even though I was struggling a little bit with reaching speed 10 in the treadmill. I would definitely go back and try it again. I was a little worried about the number of people in the class but I felt better when I saw the room being cleaned and disinfected in between classes. They really took the time to ensure the area is ready for the new class by spraying the whole room. I would prefer a smaller class to have a little more room but felt safe with the cleaning protocol. Excited to go back and try another class!

Gui's 6am Ass and Abs class was straight FIYAH! The music comprised of a bunch of Latin dance hits which made the class super fun and especially exciting. He had us running at 7-10mph at an 8% incline for our ass workout, crazy guy. Loved him and he was so friendly, full of spirit, and attitude! This Barry's studio comes with all the bells and whistles. So ballin'! You'll have everything you need for all your workout and post-workout needs. The treads here are state of the art. They have instant speed and incline settings which definitely makes it easier to adjust when coming down from a sprint at 8, 9, 10 mph. The red room is very roomy and there's plenty of space to grab your weights. My only gripe would be that there were no fans above the treads. However, you are able to grab as many sweat towels from the front before class, so at least you won't be dripping. Before class, make sure to pre-order your recovery smoothie at the Fuel Bar. If you have a credit card on file, you can grab it after class and be on your merry way. There are plenty of lockers here with locks attached and they can fit quite a lot. Washrooms are separated by gender. I feel like everyone showers after class, but there are three showers. The amenities are endless. Complimentary shower towels available. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the showers and body lotion, face wash, moisturizer, deodorant, blow dryer, etc. in the changing area. I was able to workout, shower up, change and grab my recovery smoothie then go about my day. It was so convenient! Everything was so clean, efficient, and professional. I'm glad I was able to pop in during my travels!

Barry's definitely pushes you to your limits. Over the course of a 50 minute class I ran faster than I even thought possible on a treadmill and sprinted at inclines that are stepper than hiking the Grand Canyon. The class is composed of half cardio on treadmills where the instructor directs you through sprints and climbs and half on the floor with weights and step benches. The dim red lighting and EDM music definitely helps distract from the fact that you're completely soaked in sweat and look absolutely disgusting. And the mirrors in front of the floor stations and treadmills let you take a hard look in the mirror and contemplate why you subjected yourself to this torture. The treadmill portion is definitely the harder part of the class and as we would switch between the floor and the "treads" I would begin praying that Derek, our coach, would take mercy on us. But no, he pushed us to work harder and go faster sprint after sprint- I'm sure my future self will thank him for it. The weights portion was challenging but fairly typical for each muscle group we were targeting and Derek demonstrated each move for us along with instructing us to grab medium or heavy weights- so you choose how many lbs you want to move. It does take an attentive ear to follow along with the coaching as they switch between giving instructions to the treads and the floor. Bonus points for the smoothie bar where you can put an order in before class so it's waiting for you when you're done! Also there are lockers with electric combos to stash your stuff and the bathrooms are fully stocked with designer soaps and face washes, tampons, deodorant, q tips and anything else you could need before or after your workout. Even though I almost threw up twice and my legs are screaming at me, I feel great after this kickass bootcamp workout.

Bathroom vanity - there are a couple vanity areas.

It's never an easy workout at Barry's. But you can adjust your speed on the treadmill to your pace, which I definitely did this morning. I love Gui's classes. I use to get up for His 6 AM class, but now I sleep in and take his 7:10 AM class. If you're looking to work a specific body part double check the schedule and see what day you need to come in as the workouts are specific for the day. For example, Thursdays are cardio and abs. They always have cardio but if you prefer not to do the cardio you can request "double floor". There is a "no cell phone" policy in the red room, so I don't have pictures to post of the workout area. The bathroom is clean, towels (for workouts & showers) are provided. Showers are available with all of the amenities. Just be prepared to wait for the shower after a busy morning class if you need to get ready for work. Hair dryers available, but bring curling iron, flat iron, etc.

Let me tell you something about THE RED ROOM! A-MAZE-ING!!! When the trainer is your friend and he encourages you to beat your best, it's a win win situation. Also, he's an awesome dj lol. Bootcamp with Dorian Nicks, better known as @D_NICKS on Instagram, is an all the way YES! His workout programs never get boring and his enthusiasm never shows a dull moment. He explains and demonstrates all workout positions and the right way to hold your weights all while creating an ambiance full of energy. I never liked to run before Barry's, but now I'm running miles at full speed. If you want a challenge with a light show and an amazing sound system, oh and some yummy post work out shakes, Barry's In Midtown Miami is the one! Download the Barry's app or class pass and book your class with Dorian. You will not be disappointed and 100% eager to return. Love ya D!

We visited this studio while in Miami for my sister-in-law's bachelorette. The location was hard to…read morefind for non-locals, and clearer instructions for first-timers would help. The workout itself was great, but the experience was disappointing. The instructor gave no welcome or guidance--just told us to get on the machines. Directions were often based on local references (e.g., "face Brickell"), and when we weren't facing the right way, they repeated, "Again, you're facing Brickell." Obviously, as visitors, we had no idea where that was. Despite this, we gave it another shot the next day with our full group ( as we booked it weeks before ). We left early but got stuck in Miami traffic due to a bridge delay, arriving three minutes before class. Even after calling ahead, we were turned away because new students must arrive five minutes early--no offer to reschedule, just a blunt refusal. If this is their protocol, then they probably should have enforced it the day before when we also arrived late. I'm grateful they didn't, but the inconsistency is frustrating when you expect one thing and are then told there are strict rules. While we did get a refund, the lack of hospitality stood out compared to everywhere else we visited in Miami. If they improved customer service and gave better guidance for beginners, I'd gladly return--the workout itself was solid, and the studio has a cute vibe. P.S. For newcomers and even locals, you'll need to enter the building, show your ID to the lovely lobby attendant downstairs, and he'll guide you to Tremble, which is on the fourth floor.

It has a cozy feel to it but the floor to ceiling windows give it city like vibe. The class was no joke -- good upbeat music, full body movements that focus on core strength and of course an empowering instructor to get you through the workout. Can't wait to go back!

I'd be lying if I said the idea of a gym that lowers the oxygen and increases the nitrogen in the…read moreroom to make your lungs work harder didn't sound intimidating. But after giving their first free class a try, I got hooked. If you haven't heard of Airlab, I highly recommend looking into it. It takes your typical group style HIIT circuit workout and elevates it, (pun intended), by creating an environment that challenges both your lungs and muscles in a completely different way. The concept is very unique. Before starting the workout, they display the current oxygen level and the equivalent altitude, letting you experience what it would feel like to train atop some of the highest mountains and iconic peaks. You'll burn more calories, increase cardiovascular health and most importantly, recover faster. The space and equipment are immaculate and each 45-minute session walks you through a variety of movements targeting upper body, lower body, core, or full-body, depending on the day. It keeps every class fresh, challenging, and never repetitive. They also do Hyrox training if you're into that. I'm also a big fan of all the coaches I've trained with. They're incredibly attentive, encouraging, and always making sure your form, pace, and technique are correct. If you're not used to training at higher elevations, like I am, there's definitely an adjustment period. I had to seriously pace myself during the first couple of weeks, and even now after a couple months in, I still listen to my body when needed. But if there's one thing I've noticed for certain is the improvement in my strength, endurance, and overall fitness. I'm genuinely seeing and feeling the benefits this style of training is doing for my body. Airlab has earned a fan in me, and I look forward to every workout and the progress that comes with it.

Conversation with owner Varun was informative. He listened and introduced me to Certified Personal Trainer Mike. All gyms have pluses, however, this is NO run-of-the-mill gym. There is science and research based benefit with AirLab's copyrighted process. Imagine working out on a mountaintop where oxygen is lighter. One's body is working at optimal effort. This is not about 'no pain, no gain'. The team are trained to work in this unique environment.
