Chic location on 27th right off Park Ave
Rach R.

Today was my first time at Barry's and I'll be honest - I was really surprised by my experience. Studio: if you're paying $30+ per class, you expect a pretty nice studio. Most NYC are very clean and the staff is welcoming. The front desk staff here is great, but the woman behind the smoothie bar was super rude. They don't have a water filling station (which is another issue) so you have to refill your water bottle with lukewarm water from the smoothie bar sink. I asked her to fill my bottle before class and she all but rolled her eyes at me. I felt very uncomfortable. After class I was exhausted. A nice cold glass of water would've been so refreshing. But nope, all Barry's has is lukewarm sink water. So I went back to the smoothie bar and the woman said "back again?" in such a sassy tone. Is it that strange to fill a bottle of water twice at a workout studio?! Really turned me off of the whole experience. Instructor: I told the instructor that it was my first time at Barry's, and he was very nice, however, I found the class pretty hard to follow. It seems that Barry's really favors the diehard fans and kind of forgets about the newbies. Overall I'd go back because it was a good workout but I'd only go through classpass and could never see myself paying for a class there!

The best workout money can buy, fast paced, although not exactly the best fun you can have- you'll feel it the next day!

As a parishioner of St. Michael's, I often would hear the music at the 10:30 am mass and I wonder what it was. Time later, I saw an ad for F45 and I was like, Why not? I live close by. I followed the sign and I felt I was going to a Speakeasy. I am glad a good samaritan was right behind me and guided me through the basement area and long corridor. I just left their Tokyo class. I truly dont know why they call it Tokyo and kudos to the coaches - Jackie and Hernan! AMAZING. I told them my injuries and they provided modifications and suggestions amidst a very packed 9:30 am sunday class. Management - Please give them a raise!! As a former fitness pro, I am amazed with their high level of professionalism and I would come back again.

At other F45s I've been to, people trudge in late and at different times. It can be distracting and disruptive. (2) Awesome instruction. I'm always getting feedback on form, and the instructors are always engaged. I appreciate the attention to detail, it's the only way I can improve. I go here almost everyday - highly recommend for anyone that's looking to burn fat, build muscle, and do it efficiently.

I am so lucky to have found this place. If your serious about any ANY physical/mental performance…read moregoal. Cedric is THE top. I have watched in awe as my body now: - recovers while doing other physical movements -catches its breath while running - does what my mind tells it to far beyond what I thought I could. (Have literally pushed 5 more reps, by hyper focusing on the muscle even though I couldn't feel it and relaxing all else. I watched myself amazed) Cedric Cosiac has been my physical and mental trainer here for the last six months. He has trained not only my body but my mind, to such an extent that I can accomplish vastly more physically than I ever thought possible for myself. I am writing this because I have just stepped off a high intensity dance shoot involving everything from ballet to acrobatics, parkour, martial arts, hip hop, to a few things we just invented. I was the only person on camera. We were supposed to have two days to film but we only had one and had to race against the clock as the sun was our light source. This means I get little to no breaks in between takes where I am required to dance full out in huge bursts. I was required to stay in muscle fatigue for 12 hours. But I PULLED IT OFF WITH ENERGY TO SPARE ! Why ? Cedric. The active recovery and breath training allowed me to maintain energy and recover while moving. The endurance training we do allowed my muscles to last longer and perform better. (I told him I had to do a high intensity dance piece on film months ago and he designed a routine to match exactly) His overall attention to my mental state during our training allowed me to remain completely calm and slow my heart rate, focus, and not waste energy. Everyone was in awe of what I was able to do. I genuinely wouldn't have been able to pull it off had it now been for our training I used EVERYTHING he taught me and it's just the beginning. He has shown me what I am capable of. I do not know of a greater gift than that.

Out of the 4 NYSC locals I hop from on the UWS and UES, this gym is hands down last in class. I'd…read moreadvise any friend to not sign up, or drop out, if this is their only location to use. I go only when I am so short on time that I am forced to go close to my place. Issues? Management is powerless to change a thing, and corporate ignores all Communication. This gym was wonderful (with one exception) before renovation; then they ruined it. In a location that used to, and should, have thrice as many, 73d shockingly installed FIVE--total FIVE--ellipticals, and even fewer stair mills. No variety in cardio: use treadmill instead of Central Park (boring), ride a bike (only THREE), climb stairs (almost always taken), or fight to get one of the four functioning ellipticals that are, by the way, all the same variety. To all those considering this gym, I say Buyer Beware!

When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk. I scanned in using my phone, grabbed a towel,…read moreand began walking around the gym to familiarize myself with the equipment before heading to the locker room. While doing so, another member approached me and made inappropriate comments, saying, "I won't tell if you won't tell." she repeated this a few time She went on to imply that people often walk in and take items without permission and suggested I should go to a gym closer to my home. I explained that I live in Brooklyn and do not have a gym in my area. She then insisted on walking me to the locker room. A few minutes later, this same member entered the locker room and questioned whether I intended to work out there. This interaction left me feeling uncomfortable, judged, and unwelcome. Shortly after, a male employee approached me regarding a complaint about people "laughing and screaming." I wasn't aware that speaking or expressing joy at the gym was against the rules, and I strongly suspect the complaint was made by the same member who confronted me earlier. This entire experience has left me feeling unfairly targeted and profiled. As someone who chose NYC Sports Club for its reputation and accessibility, this incident was both disheartening and unacceptable. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and respected in a gym environment, and my experience today fell far short of those expectations.

By far one of the best Life Time Fitness gyms in NYC. Almost a hidden gem to be honest. Right in…read morefront of Madison Square Garden, you get a good view of the stadium and all the craziness happening down below to get into MSG. A lot of the Life Time locations in NYC are fairly small in size but so is everything else in town like restaurants, hotels, and retails stores. What I love about this location is that I feel like a lot of people don't know that it's here. I come and usually traffic is fairly light. Just avoid it between 5pm-7pm because the locker rooms are small and yes they completely fill up sometimes. Theres three floors: 1st floor is check-in, Pickleball courts (w/ beer & wine) on tap, second floor is cardio, a few studios and the LifeCafe. Third floor is weights, machines, locker rooms and a few other studios. The gym is very clean overall. People mind their own business, they get their workout in and get out. Which is great because you hardly ever have to wait around for a machine.

Although my credit card said, it is on pending, and the merchant should do the right thing to credit me back. Again, Lifetime just charged me, even they said will not charge again. I called back my cc, they look into my record and took action on behalf of me. BE VERY CAREFUL OF HOW DISHONEST Lifetime conduct their businesses.
