The vinyasa flow class I took today was a great experience. The instructor Sorinel did a great job helping us flow through the different poses. The room does get hot but not intolerable and the fan was turned on a couple times in the class. The yoga studio has mats and towels to rent as well as showers and lockers. You can buy water and beverages at the studio too but no water fountains. I would recommend anyone trying a class here !

FYI , it is instructor guided not instructor lead for the most part, so I would recommend maybe reading up a bit on basic Pilates moves so you can follow along (I was sort of cheating by looking at what the student next to me was doing, since she looked confident lol). I love the mats; they are thick and more cushiony than a traditional yoga mat and it is long. Although I'm 4 feet 11 , I still managed to reach from one end of the mat to the other. Classes are $20 per session for the rest of the year. I will come back here again!

My only qualm is that there aren't markers on the floor to indicate where to put mats. So when a class is packed yogis are scattered about and the space isn't maximized.

Located conveniently next to my apartment, WYA has every kind of class I could ever need, and class sizes are smaller than in Manhattan so there is more individualized attention (and space to move!). Not to mention, this studio is way more affordable! The space is very clean, but be warned there are no changing rooms (just 2 private bathrooms). WYA has a wide variety of different yoga classes (core classes, gentle classes, classes for beginners, classes for more advanced folk) and zumba/belly dance classes to boot. Zumba is one of my favorite classes at this studio- it's a fantastic workout! All the instructors (for zumba and yoga) are super friendly, helpful, and are there to answer all questions. The studio has a very "family oriented" atmosphere among the staff and clients, and most of the instructors will remember your name. What I also enjoy about this studio, is that there are opportunities to advance in your practice. The yoga classes here take you step by step through head and hand stands and show you proper set up and form for learning more advanced moves. I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone looking for something in New Rochelle.

I usually find it hard to stick with fitness classes, as I need to feel comfortable within a given environment and around the attendees. Angel made me feel like I was part of the family and still managed to give me personal attention even with a class full of people. He has this relationship with everyone, not to mention the support I received from the other members. Angel's classes are setup with HIIT circuits with cool downs that actually produce results. I struggled for years with push-ups and managed to build enough strength to get them done. My clothes got loose and my family and friends raved about my progress. A few weeks ago I decided to try something different and totally out of my comfort zone. A friendly…read morerecommendation led me to Pole Position Dance Studio located in White Plains, just a few store fronts down from Mario's Pizza on Mamaroneck Avenue. For starters, the booking process was seamless. There were multiple packages to choose from, whether you just want to try out a class or fully commit. I also had no idea that they offered more than just pole! Some of their classes include Street Heels, Metamorphosis (which is a pole-less class; just straight dancing), and a stretch class! For transparency, I've never took a pole class in my life. While nervous going in, you can't help but immediately feel welcome. The owner of the studio, Taylor, was quick to greet me and the front desk girl, Jules, was as kind as could be! I can't even tell you how much fun I had at this class, and I wasn't even any good! Everyone in the class, not just the instructor, was so supportive and I quickly realized that this was more than just a class. It was a community. I loved it so much that the next week I invited one of my besties to join me! It was such a blast and I can't wait to book my next class!!

It definitely takes 5 or so classes to truly get the hang of Barry's otherwise it can be really challenging as a beginner. Basically you start on the treadmill or weights for about 12-14 mins, switch to the other side, and then repeat. My fave instructors are definitely Paris and Joe A. With Paris, I get in such a good workout because he doesn't include breaks (lol). Joe A is super motivating and I love his music!

Great Barry's location - clean facilities, friendly staff, and any shower necessities you need…read more(towel, toiletries, Dyson hairdryer, etc). The lockers may be tricky if it's your first time using one of theirs, so ask a staff for help before locking your stuff unexpectedly! It was my first Barry's class + I did an Arms x Run class. You start on either the floor or treadmill, then you're instructed to swap stations 2xs, so that you do each section twice. You can opt to be on either the floor or treadmill the whole time though. The format of the class takes a second to get used to, since the instructor directs both sections at the same time. I personally think it's easier to be on the treadmill, since you're mostly jogging or doing sprints. If there's one con, I wish there was more space between the lockers inside the women's locker rooms and the vanity area post shower. Definitely a HIIT style class to get used to, but I loved sweating it out! Barry's is unfortunately on the higher price of workout classes ($40), but a standard price for NYC, sadly. Overall, would def return for a Barry's class, when they have more class deals!

I felt compelled to write this review in the time of coronavirus- even with Zoom lessons, Caitlin manages to keep the girls engaged and learning. The classes are very well structured, and appropriately challenging. Truthfully, I was originally a bit hesitant about going here because the website makes it look a bit intense for little kids, but it is awesome, and my daughter loves it. Note- the studio is down a hallway with a gym called "Iron Vault." You can easily drive past several times without seeing it, and the parking can be tight in front of the studio, there is usually plenty of parking on Garth Road though and it's a 2 second walk.
