This trailer company is the BEST I have ever been to and I travel across the US for work. The team is very experienced and get the job done. The cost was way less than what I have paid eleswhere. Worst place of business I've seen so far. Everyone seems to have a face and is mad at something, it felt weird to be there. The lady at the counter Who is also the owner and I knew this because she made it clear "needs help." I'm not a person that writes a lot but I do agree with a lot of the reviews that people left here on Yelp it described her completely and I do not recommend anybody to go to this place and if you do good luck ! Oh and not to leave behind Barry replaced a perfectly good 4 way connector charged me $80.25 and I drove out with the same issue I came in with thanks Barry! Epic! read more

Polite Customer Service is non existent. Employees and staff are not helpful and flat out rude. I will go some where else from now on .

Ford had installed a brake controller in my pickup truck, but I couldn't get it to work. Ford kept saying controller is fine, its a problem w the new trailer I had just purchased. I brought it Barry's for a 2nd opinion and the mechanic determined that there was a wiring problem in the truck's 7 point plug. He rewired the plug to fix the problem and only charged $30 buck, and it only took half/hour. Excellent service! And Ford did agree to cover the Barry's Trailers invoice. read more

I have purchased two trailers at Barry's Trailers. I live in Kansas City MO. I used to live in Bradenton FL and did business with Barry's Trailers a bunch of times. It was always pleasant. Like I said, I just purchase a Boat Trailer and a Kayak trailer (even though I live in Kansas City MO). It was mostly a great experience with all going out of their way to help, except for one person. I paid for the Boat Trailer and was expecting to receive my Title. Evidently they still had my Bradenton address on file, even though I filled out all the paperwork with my Kansas City address. The lady said she sent out my title to the address on file in Bradenton. So, I did not receive the title. Not a big problem, these things happen. She applied for a duplicate and received it. When I called to ask her to send it to me, she stated that she wasn't going to send it because she didn't want it to get "lost" again. She said I would have to send them money for them to attempt to send it to me again! She got very rude with me and was just short of yelling at me for telling her I wasn't about to send them money for my title! I am probably going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to see if they can help me get a title for the trailer I purchased. It is very sad when one person can ruin a whole experience. All of the others there have more than gone out of their way to be courteous and helpful. She may win this battle and I may end up having to pay them extra money to get my title, but they won't get anymore business from me. So, buyer's beware of the extortion money scheme when you expect to get a title from Barry's Trailers if you work with the angry lady! read more

I bought a large heavy duty kayak trailer for my kayak business. I had problems with the large I-beams cracking within the first few months. Being in a different part of the state, I was told to bring the trailer to the manufacturer (Continental) in Miami. They told me the trailer was modified and would not be covered under the manufacturer's warantee. After a few phone calls, they (manufacturer) said they would do a repair. as a courtesy to the dealer. The repair worked for about 3 years, but I now have a problem related to and in the immediate same area. I called Barry's who after a long conversation told me that after nearly 4 years, even if I brought it to them for repairs I would need to pay them for the repairs. I told them that it was the modifications which they engineered and constructed which are at issue, the manufacturer will not warantee because of them. DO NOT buy a custom manufactured kayak trailers from Barry's and expect it to last because it looks heavy duty, durable and made from aluminum. The design, engineering (confimird by everyone I had look at it) and construction is faulty and may not stand the test of time. And they do not stand by their design nor product. read more

Last year I rented a trailer from Barry's from my 27' center console boat. I rented it from Barry's. Barry was concerned with my factory towing package. After consulting directly with Dodge, I upgraded my entire towing package (hitch, receiver, swya bars, etc.) to all be consistent with a minimum of 15,000 pounds towing capacity. Barry inspected it himself and rented me the trailer. I called this year and spoke to a female at Barry's. She said they wouldnt rent that size trailer with a 1500 truck. I explained to her twice what i did last year. She didn't care. i asked to speak with Barry. Rather than get a chance to speak with Barry he immediately chewed me out on the phone and hung up on me. I never did get a chance to talk to Barry and tell my side of the story. I followed up with an email to Barry and whomever replied to the email said I told my story three times to both of them. I never got a chance to tell Barry anything even once and the female on the phone never relayed any information to Barry. Be careful. There is plenty of other trailer companies to business with!! read more

The female proprietor is the same the first reviewer referred to. Be very careful with these people(especially her). They will smile to your face as you walk in,but encounter a problem along the way after any work has been done,and watch out. I found their gratitude(year and a half with dealing with them,and they acted like they were doing me a favor?...I mean,I found their approach to be incredibly arrogant...not one gesture or verbal expression of gratitude for my business was ever extended to me),customer respect(they chided me for expecting too much),and general approach to anything other than their own feelings on any matter lacked any desire to satisfy the customer. I would not recommend them,but if you do go to them,get everything in writing,and don't authorize anything without getting specific costs upfront. I will say the service guys are very good,and I do trust their work. They seem conscientious about doing quality work. But Once the woman lands on a price or does some work,if your inconvenienced or feel something isn't fair,she will try and get you for every dime she can. "They are never wrong". So once I brought up a concern,there was a tremendous attitude change. It was made clear to me,like the first reviewer,that the customer was at fault. A most difficult time for me(mother's health) was compounded by her inability to access my trailer with a 24 hour heads up,which cost me an extra nites stay,delaying my return trip home by a day,and all she could think of was their own interests("I only have one guy working"). I will commend,I think old man, who got the message I left the nite before,and low and behold,my trailer was ready to go by 9:30 AM(they open at 9:00) the day AFTER I needed it...20 minutes after I got a call at 9:10 was all it took to access and prep my trailer. Seriously,How she couldn't manage her work day to accommodate a 30 minute Trailer access/prep for me to be on my way is unimaginable,and demonstrated absolutely no interest in being sensitive to my request(I had specifically requested to pick it up the next day,allowing her as much time as possible to work it into her schedule,shooting for between 4-5 PM the next day so I could start my trip back home). "But other customers came before me" was all I got. She then escalated the situation as I got a bunch of other static out of her as I was requesting some relief or sensitivity to the situation. It began as a principle thing about money for me but in the end the shear indifference and insensitivity in her attitude was more upsetting. It was how I was treated that was the problem. The disrespect and callous indifference to a customer's point of view or situation exhibited by This woman was stunning. What kind of person manages their business with that kind of attitude? Seriously,is this how you would want to be treated? I know she wouldn't of wanted to be treated the way she treated me. I am so sorry I gave a business with that kind of approach as much money I did over a year and a half. I would encourage anyone seeking out a Trailer repair facility in Sarasota to find someone who would have maybe put themselves in my position and treated the situation in a manner as if their own mother was sick. I gotta believe there are trailer business' out there that would,just not this one. read more
