Steve did a major servicing on our 2014 Mercedes E350 and it is running better than it did the day it left the dealership.

For a JAW DROPPING EXPERIENCE, CALL LARRY'S AUTO SERVICE IN BRADENTON FL. I am new to the area and…read morehave been getting my car serviced at the dealership... I know I payed more but I knew the dealer would get the job done right. I was recently introduced to Larry. I made an appointment for an oil change. He got in right away and when I was presented the bill my jaw hit the counter. It was literally a third of what I paid at the dealership. Since I bought this vehicle I have never paid so little for an oil change.

For background, I have been bringing our two cars to Larry's for a couple of years now for routine service. I have been drawn to Larry's because Larry is a true old fashioned gentleman who clearly loves his work and appreciates his customers. His shop is spotless and well organized, and he seems to have earned the trust of many customers with a wide variety of rare, classic and antique cars. A visit to his shop on any day is like a visit to a rare and exotic car museum, so if you were to judge Larry' by the customers who choose him, it would appear you are making a good choice. Now, for the "incident" that put Larry's character and ethics to the test: He recently changed my oil and on my way home the worst-case-possible scenario presented itself: my low oil indicator came on and upon further inspection the dipstick appeared to be bone-dry. Running without oil can be instantly catastrophic to any engine, an mine was an 8 cylinder twin turbo on a Mercedes SL 550--a potentially hyper-expensive problem if the mechanic had made an error. I contacted Larry. He immediately drove to my house to take a look at the car. Upon inspection he could not be certain that there wasn't a problem so he arranged a flatbed at his expense to immediately return the car to his shop. I followed the car and no one objected as I took a video of their next steps to document if there might be a liability case. They put the car on the lift and opened the drain plug--and (big relief) about 6 1/2 quarts of oil drained out. They had put in 8 1/2 which is what the specs call for and had no doubt about it, and to see 6 1/2 quarts drain out. leaving some in the filter and some in the engine and turbos, seems to back that up. But at NO TIME did Larry or his staff become defensive in any way; they merely wanted to understand what had happened and take responsibility should there have been an error on their part. This error could have become a liability that ran in to the tens of thousands of dollars, and Larry stepped right up and investigated with full transparency, honesty and integrity. Larry refilled the engine with 9 quarts (a little over spec) and now everything is perfect. I insisted on paying for the flatbed and the additional oil and Larry FLAT OUT REFUSED TO TAKE MY MONEY, insisting instead that my happiness was more important. I always say you don't know someone's true character until adversity presents itself, and I can now say with confidence that Larry's character is of the highest quality. But I don't want his sterling character to overshadow the rest of the story, the reason I had been going to Larry's prior to this incident; his shop is spotless, his demeanor is friendly, warm and professional, and his work is first rate. Don't just take my word for it, take the word of all the owners who trust Larry with their classic, exotic and rare cars.

I was originally quoted one price for the repair, but later I was told the cost went up because I "needed hoses added," with no clear explanation or proof provided for why those parts were necessary. There was no documentation, no visual inspection shown, and no real breakdown to justify the added work--just a verbal claim that it was required. On top of that, the final charge ended up being more than 3x what the same OEM part is listed for at Ford, which raises serious concerns about how the pricing was marked up and presented. The issues didn't stop there. This happened on a Friday. I was told my car would be ready before 4:00 PM, but around 4:30 PM I only received a last-minute text update. I arrived at approximately 5:09 PM, and the shop was already closed. There was no one available, no way to speak to anyone, and no reliable way to get updates or access my vehicle. Because of the timing and the fact that it was already Friday evening, my car would have been stuck there all weekend until Monday, which directly affected my work schedule. I had to go out of my way to find and contact the owner myself just to avoid being left without my vehicle for multiple days. While I did get my car back, the overall experience felt inconsistent, poorly communicated, and not handled in a transparent or professional way
