This Blue Line is the line to take if your heading from the east bay (Dublin/Pleasanton) to the A's game. The coliseum is an actual stop and Bart will save you time and money especially now that the parking at the coliseum is up to $30. The trains ride smooth and it's nice to have a view rather than being stuck behind the wheel of your car fighting with traffic. Plus Bart makes it from Dublin/Pleasanton to the coliseum in roughly 25 minutes. You will not be able to do that in a car. Parking at Bart is free on weekends and apparently on weekdays after 3pm. Tickets for our group, myself and my two kids came out to roughly $17.00. You can barely beat that in gas if you were to drive yourself. I enjoyed talking Bart and I know my kids were thrilled to ride a "train." I recommend Bart to anyone heading to the A's or further down the line. read more

I've driven through the Cities of Dublin and Pleasanton on the 580, but I've never stopped in either. OK, that might be a lie, as I may have done a focus-group type thing in Dublin at one point, but that doesn't count. Anyway, I consider myself lucky never to have experienced the wonder that is either of these ridiculous Bay Area suburbs. How do I know they're ridiculous without ever having been to either? Well, that's quite a conundrum, because I'm unlikely to ever visit either and, therefore, unlikely to ever change my mind. If it's any consolation to your offended Dublin/Pleasanton pride, your chain stores look, um, nice from the freeway. OK, they look like every other visible-from-the-freeway chain stores I've ever seen. And this makes them, exciting. I think? Why am I going on about Dublin/Pleasanton in a review of the Dublin/Pleasanton-Daly City Line? Well, because I can. And unless the BART station does somehow straddle the border between the two cities, it's stupid that it's got a slashed name to begin with. It's probably either in Dublin or Pleasanton. The line itself is OK. I've never ridden it farther than Bay Fair, so I can't really contrast it with the Fremont-Daly City Line. It's gotten me (most of the way) to Oakland International Airport and back on many occasions. Hm, what else to say? I think I'm excited about the new West Dublin station, although it will also ridiculously be called the West Dublin/Pleasanton Station. Seriously, can't we just give each city its own BART station and be done with this / garbage? read more

I generally find BART to be a very convenient way to get to the city. However, as everybody knows it's not very cheap and you have to pay for parking now. This morning I actually was not able to get a seat so it's a a bit of a hassle standing for 45 minutes. read more

On the BART Blue Line, a thief once snatched-and-grabbed my phone, while the train was stopped at West Oakland. Still, I'm giving the line a four-star rating. I've been riding it now for eight years, and the service is fairly reliable and hassle-free. Yes, there are those days where trains get taken out of service. Yes, there are too many sleeping transients, wandering crazies (why do they always walk through the train cars like that), marijuana tokers, phone yakety-yakers, people with pets, and hoodlums with their pants down to their ankles (seriously, what is UP with that??) It's all part of city living. The big disappointment for me is the new 3-door trains. Does anybody actually like them? The seats are too hard, and I cannot stand the orientation. Who designed it, MC Escher? It looks and feels like a robot-controlled inter-terminal airport shuttle. And that robotic female voice that calls out the destination. "Arriving at..." Ugh. Give me the OLD cars any day, with the dirty COMFORTABLE seats, along with some admonishing, sarcastic commentary, blaring through the intercom way too loud and distorted, by the REAL people driving the train. They get sassy and you can tell that they really LOVE their job, just like you love yours, which BART is bringing you to. The seats are comfier, and you know which direction is forward. Please, BART, just refurbish the old train cars, and send the new ones to some airport. read more

Great way to get from the vanilla suburbs to The City without the headache of driving he bridge traffic. Just know is that on a Saturday night, you'll have your fair share of jackasses and drunks in the train. If you can put on your headphones and ignore them you're good. Bring your Purell or sanitary wipes, as the seats are nasty. Don't count on getting somewhere on time--BART is usually delayed for whatever reason. read more

Typical stuff, fewer lunatics than the Fremont and Richmond lines. The first three stops staring from Dublin/Pleasanton are relatively new so they're all cleaner and safer than the older stations. Lots of parking in all of the first three too. There are a ton of white collar workers who start off in this area (some come from Livermore, San Ramon, etc.) so the train is PACKED in the mornings. You'll be lucky if you get a seat by the time it gets to the West Dublin station. It's pretty funny watching people pile in once it gets past Bayfair because no one wants to make room for the new entrants. On the way home from SF, I've noticed people here are in more of a rush to get back to their cars compared to the other East Bay lines. Waiting isn't as pleasant in the first three stops either because they're all over the freeway so it's windier and louder than normal too. read more

The review from John S. is non-sensical as he himself admits he has never been to either city yet he passes judgement on both from what he sees driving on a freeway! For the record, the Dublin/Pleasanton station IS between both cities. The new West Dublin/Pleasanton station will open soon and will also be between both cities right next to the Stoneridge Shopping center, which is one of the best in the East Bay. As far as the cities go, Dublin has seen enormous changes with many upgrades and great parks. Dublin is one of the last places left where I can take my daughter to participate in safe fireworks. Pleasanton is in a class by itself recently mentioned as on of the best in the nation by Money magazine due in part to its great school system, an old time downtown and the Alameda County Fairgrounds. All together one of the safest and nicest areas where BART terminates. read more

The train stopped on our way to the city and turned us back around to some random station and we had to switch around. I usually have an okay experience on BART but combined with the lack of air conditioning in the middle of summer and not making it to sf on time I'm quite disappointed. read more

These Bart trains are so dirty and crammed I would definitely not recommend taking it if you can avoid it. The quality of the Bart trains has really gone downhill over the past few years but since it is so popular and necessary, it does not seem to matter enough to do anything about it. Also there are a lot of sketchy people who hang around Bart stations or who ride the trains and it is not the most safe experience to ride alone if you are a female. So I would advise anyone to avoid Bart if possible simply because it is not the most pleasant experience. read more
