We have been using this service for several years and are always pleased with the service. We travel to Europe once a year with luggage and a mobility scooter and have never had a problem. I have used East Bay Shuttle for years in traveling to foreign countries on medical missions and still use them today. They are reliable and responsible and have never let me down. The drivers are especially knowledgeable about travel as well and traffic. On our recent trip to Greece we found out out the last leg of our trip was cancelled because of a strike in Athens, and we needed to get to Northern Greece for our tour. The driver suggested flying into Sofia, Bulgaria, and then hiring a car to take us south to our destination. It turned out that we were able to fly from SFO to Philadelphia to Rome to Sofia and we got a ride to our destination and this saved our trip. We are friends with all of the drivers! read more

They were more than 20 min late for both pick-ups and still charged me full price plus tip for this service. I would not use this service again, nor would I recommend anyone I know to use them. I thought I had a confirmed ride from SFO to San Ramon from another carrier (Tri-Valley Taxi) for a 12:30am pickup. I had an email with a confirmed reservation dated 10/4/21, but got a call just before I boarded my flight that they didn't have a driver. I started calling other carriers and was repeatedly told it was too late or they didn't have a driver. On my 7th call, I connected with East Bay and they bailed me out! The driver they sent was on time, clean car, very professional even at the last minute and at this crazy hour. These are going to be my go-to guys from now on. read more

Booked this shuttle for 10 people for a work event from Seattle to Walnut Creek, We were an hour late due to our airplane having a rivet problem. Should have landed at 11:45am, landed at 12:30pm. The shuttle waited for us, so A+ so far...........Once we got into the shuttle, that's when problems started. We were starting off to Walnut Creek from Oakland, and at first it was pleasant, but then the driver took a sharp right to get on the freeway.....I went flying into my colleague who was sitting next to me, had to pull myself over to the4 right to sit up right again...........OMG......The guy was swerving in and out of traffic and then slams on the brakes and we go flying into the seats. Now the kicker of this whole thing..........I get car sick faster that you can blink. Thank GOD the Dramamine I took for the flight was still in my system....my colleague sitting in front of me....not so lucky....poor guy was turning GREEN.... We got to our destination and we all are crawling into of each other to get out of the van incase we needed to go puke in the bushes :( Then fiasco with billing....they wouldn't let me leave until I got on the phone with Guya (whoever she is) I explained to her that I gave her my bosses CC a WEEK PRIOR..and that I didn't have it on me now........and why NOW are we discussing this, when it could have been discussed a week ago when I was in my office. I have used this service last year and now this year over the holidays. I have found them to be very reasonable and the drivers very nice. They were right on time for a 3am pick up (damn, that's so early I really feel bad for anyone having to drive someone on Christmas morning at 3am to the airport but they do!). We received calls the day before confirming our reservations every time. My only concern on the first trip was an older van with a check engine light on (I saw that twice now) but on this trip no check engine light and it was a newer van compared to a pretty old one we had last year. The vehicles were clean inside, no smell of smoke or any other odors and the temperature was good each time. We were asked if we were comfortable and the driver was very friendly, keeping good conversation both going and coming. We happened to get the same guy each time. Their pricing is very reasonable and better than several other Limo services so I'll continue to use them in the future. Hopefully they will check those engine lights and make sure they are not on as it does get you nervous on a deadline and praying the car doesn't die on the way to the airport! 4 stars Song of the review: Bob Jame's "Angela" of course! We used East Bay Shuttle for round trip transportation to SFO for 6 people and lots of luggage. Our trip to SFO was at 3am. The driver arrived right on time and was very helpful with the luggage. We returned very late at night but the driver was waiting nearby and came right away to pick us up. I really appreciated the email and text confirmations that I received the day before our trips. Was quoted $92 for a 4:20a pickup. . .yeah right, not happening. It would be cheaper to park at (or near) the airport for 6 days. Insane pricing. There was a huge wall between myself and the woman taking my reservation, it was called a language barrier. The call was so challenging I was quite nervous about making my flight on time, or them not showing up at all for that matter. After three calls from them trying to get my email correct, I received my confirmation, and I was feeling somewhat at ease. Of course the true test would be my pick from both home and airport. The day of my flight I was promptly greeted by a friendly East Bay Shuttle driver. I was the only rider in the clean, spacious van. Ok, going was great now for the return. I envisioned a super long wait for my driver as he navigated through traffic, or there was some crazy mix up with my return date. Thank goodness none of my neurotic thoughts were true. Right as the wheels of the plane touched the ground I received a call from my driver giving me instructions on where to meet him. Once again I was greeted by another friendly driver and it was smooth sailing back home. I will definitely use them again. After shopping around I found their prices to be slightly lower than others in the area. Only for stars for the challenging reservation, but overall great service. read more

We scheduled for a pickup to go to the airport and then the return. Things happen and mistakes get made - but it was how they handled the mistake that is giving them the low rating. Even though I got an email the day before confirming my reservation, the driver never showed up to take us to the airport. Luckily I started calling right at the time of my pick up when no one was there. Finally got a call back 30 mins later stating that they had a glitch in their system and even though our reservation was correct they scheduled someone for the next night. They could get someone to us in 30 mins. At this point it would be an hour later and we couldn't wait so had a friend give us a ride. When we got the feedback email I complained that obviously someone not showing up was a big deal and that I expected our return trip to be free to make up for their mistake. This is where the service sucked. They told me it was an IT issue and they already fixed it (like that was good enough) and then that I should have known there was an issue because they call the day before to confirm. How would I know they were going to call me?!? And I already got a confirmation email! Then they told me they could give me a $25 credit. Seriously - that is all you will do for someone where you completely didn't pick them up?! Would not recommend for their customer service alone - they had a chance to make it right and make me happy but instead tried to lay the blame at my feet. read more

I was just forced into the emergency lane from one of the East Bay shuttle drivers in vehicle 114 I contacted the driver dispatch requesting a driver supervisor and none was present I let the dispatcher know my concerns that the driver was speeding driving well over 95 miles an hour on the freeway engaging in reckless behavior and almost created an accident with my vehicle I was not giving any insurance as to making sure that the driver would not continue such behavior and neither was I told that anything would happen at all I'm highly unsatisfied with the approach from this company and the inadequate response. read more

I Gave Up on this Service... When I first moved to the area I found East Bay Shuttle and was thrilled to have found a "Mom and Pop" alternative to Shuttle Express. I liked having an individual driver who would take me individually home or to the airport and found them overall quite consistent. I was also impressed that this operation is run by Bulgarian immigrants who are very hard working and wanted to support it. However, over time I found the quality diminished, an absence of loyalty to long time customers, and some increasing disfunctionality --particularly concerning being picked up following a flight. They don't call you (or stopped calling you) when you arrive at the Airport, and if you don't have their number handy it's hard to get (since you get East Bay Connection when you call directory assistance --an outfit to definitely be avoided-- and they aren't listed among the regular carriers at Oakland Airport). So there were times I was left without my confirmed return trip driver arriving and finding myself waiting at the airport and needing to find alternative transport home. Or, succeeding in calling the business and waiting and waiting and waiting for the driver to arrive from wherever he is off site. The language barrier also became a major problem: the drivers often speak minimal English and I found them taking inconsistent routes as they were learning the landscape (including one hair raising experience driving through much of Oakland by the driver in the pouring rain who was having trouble finding his way to Walnut Creek. My blood pressure rose throughout the experience besides the fact that it required about 20 unnecessary additional minutes to get home). The vans are mechanically poorly maintained; you are disconcerted by flashing check engine lights and occasionally the drivers have complained about the owners' efforts to keep costs down with inadequate maintenance. Don't know about you but I sure as hell don't want to get stranded on I-880 in Oakland in the middle of the night. Driving in a van with a long crack along the windshield imagining that any bump on the highway (quite likely on 880) is going to cause it to shatter is also "disconcerting". I tried directing business traffic to them and initially found that they had a can do attitude. Then it became a can't do attitude with occasional failures to show up (the language barrier being an operative problem) and the customer (us) being blamed in a curt discourteous fashion. Also, invest in credit card technology already: there were too many times that my credit card was rubbed across paper slips with envelopes, and then when the driver was required to use his mobile phone with the options random: Iphone, Android, Windows phone, with you being required to figure out the new keyboard on the spot in the airport with other drivers impatiently wanting your butt out of the way. And then, the promised emailed receipt never arrived inviting a nightmare call with resulting language challenges to attempt to get a receipt. There was the time the woman who is co-owner picked me up and she expected me to carry my bags out and to put them into the van and then to lift them out when we arrived. This isn't about chivalry when you are paying for a service so don't play the female card thank you. The final straw for me was when I found that after a few years of using them (and they aren't cheap) and always tipping generously, that if I called a week in advance that no they were overbooked and couldn't pick me up at the requested time, suggesting unrealistic alternatives like leaving my house at 5 a.m. for an 8 a.m. flight because no drivers were available at 6 a.m. I switched to the more expensive Walnut Creek Airport Service which provides sterling service. While I loathe East Bay Connection, quite frankly I suspect that operation is more reliable. I stopped using East Bay Shuttle two years ago having surrendered with disappointment and a tad of disgust. read more

I was left "high and dry" by an Uber driver in getting home from Oakland Airport to San Ramon at night this week. I looked into several shuttle services and though $84 was alot? The PEACE OF MIND I received from both Gaia and AJ of East Bay Shuttler Service made all the difference in my hiring them. They were organized and most efficient in handling my request for service and absolutely right on time. So since it's darker earlier and inclement weather? I felt RELIABILITY and RESPONSIBILITY trumped attempting to use another Uber driver. Called to make a reservation and 2 min later had to postpone it... with intention of rescheduling it since our Executive's schedule was so unpredictable. Instead the customer rep told us that we were "wasting [her] time". We called to leave a professional grievance, and the lady claimed to be the supervisor on site but refused to provide her full name. She claimed her name was "Maria". Right. So is mine. I just used EBS for a trip out to Boston (via SFO) and, all things considered, can't really think of anything that would have made my experience better. The rate was reasonable, the van was fine (newer model Honda Odyssey), the driver was nice, he could drive just fine, and there was none of the stopping to pick up other people crap. If you're looking for a shuttle you might as well use East Bay Shuttle. read more

When we called for a reservation after reading all the 4-5 star reviews, we were treated very rudely while booking and it sounded like we were speaking to a driver, not an office. We didn't even get to finalize the reservation process but rather just hung up. We have used East Bay connection for years and wanted to try EB shuttle based on the positive reviews compared to the EB connection's reviews. We booked with no hassle on EB connection. read more

After reading all of the reviews for services to and from SFO, we decided on East Bay Shuttle. We are very glad we did! They recommended a pick-up time based on our flight time and terminal at SFO. It was great recommendation, they arrived on time and we were off to the international terminal at SFO. We arrived at the terminal on-time, they assisted with the skycab, and luggage both at home and at the terminal. Here is where they earned the high rating, coming home Philippine Airlines operated on PST (Philippine Standard Time) those of you familiar with the Filipno culture will understand, and we were two hours late arriving in SFO. When we arrived the East Bay Shuttle driver called me while we waiting for customs and told me that he was waiting in Courtyard A and gave me directions to the van, he had following our status and knew when we arrived. He then helped with the luggage and never said a word about our late arrival, he was cordial and polite and safely got us home, where again he helped with the luggage and waited patiently while I got the kids and wife into the house. I went back outside and paid him and thanked him for the service with tip of course. All-in-All it was a great experience and I couldn't be happier about the service. Highly recommend! read more

I would give a couple of stars for the driver/s-- but the company, wow!! Unfortunately there is no negative star rating (especially for the receptionist who handles the phone reservations). Complete lack of personality and no customer service skills at all! This company is exactly why Uber is gaining strength--and I will be using Uber from here on in. The company as a 48 hour cancellation policy which shows me that they are desperate for every little bit of work that they can latch on to. I don't know of any companies that operate under a 48 hour cancellation policy any more-- move out of the dark ages East Bay Shuttle and get with the program...this is 2016!! And.....$85.00 to get to the airport? wow.....! Then I discover on my credit card statement that the driver puts himself down for a $16.00 tip----on top of the cash tip I gave him..WOW!! Never again--not for me...plenty of other choices out there for me....I will just sit back and watch East Bay Shuttle fade away----or at least until they replace that sour b***h on the phone! My family and I had a one star experience being picked up. Upon arrival we got a text that provided a phone number to call to check in. We did. We were told to hall our luggage and wait in courtyard A after a long international flight. We did. 30 minutes later no driver. I called to check in and they said they sent the driver to court yard G after giving us instructions to wait in courtyard A. I called again and we waited another 20 minutes before the driver finally came. The people on the phone were very confusing and rude. When I called to file a complaint the man on the phone did not provide me with the email or phone number of the manager all he said was her name is Maria. No apologies were offered. Driver was on time and attentive, but they sent an 12 passenger econoline van for one- what a waste of gas, a taxi cab is more luxurious. The econoline van is super loud and rides super rough. Unless you're traveling with a big groups, book a cab or a car service from a real car company. read more
