I was very impressed by the professional and friendly attitudes of both Al and Don. They even moved a console piano (extra fee, but I knew that in advance) and were very careful with it. No damage happened to any furniture; everything was thickly wrapped in heavy moving blankets and was well packed. They also moved a bedroom set and put it in the garage so it was easier for a charitable organization to pick up later, and carried smaller furniture pieces from the basement to the garage for the same reason. The movers maneuvered a tricky second floor staircase at the first residence and successfully carried down a complete bedroom set with nary a scratch. Kudos also to Isac, who set up our move so quickly - I called on the Wednesday prior and was able to secure a crew for Monday, just a few days later. Very, very happy with Five Star!!

At first I remembered their original place, they politely stated that if I wanted that location it is owned by another company and I would have to speak to them. They gave that honest input and did not approach it as trying to direct me away from or any shady thing like that. They provide stuff to help you move your things and they aren't crazy marked up or anything. Made opening and closing my unit a simple and easy without any problems. For example, I pulled a box from my unit one day and unknowingly had a single crayon and a paper clip fall out from the bottom of the box. The next day she called threatening that I had to "come clean up my mess" or she would charge me a $50 fee. The unit itself was very old and in poor repair. My belongings all got destroyed with water damage, pooling water, mold and mildew, and flaking paint. I complained, and the manager said there was nothing she could do about the flaking paint, and blamed the damage on me not opening up the unit often enough to allow for air circulation. Ridiculous! Additionally, the rent has been steadily increasing every couple of months, while absolutely nothing about the service or facility had improved. They blamed the increases on rising costs. I could believe that the first time, but not the next 4 increases, especially given the poor quality of the unit I was in and the declining condition of the facility overall. There are definitely better options available - choose one of them instead!

Marie from Lake County storage at Round lake location has been really helpful I was planning to…read morelease a smaller unit and got to change my mind as another unit bigger was available, Marie was really nice to hold on the rental for me as I could not come right away as I had an emergency and the day I got to start with the paperwork for the unit she was great showed me the unit and explained how to access the area. The guy in the shop always starts the equipment before I leave to show me that it works well and also shows me how to use it. Thank you for that!
