Without asking or clearing it with me, he removed thousands of files from Lightroom, including many 5-star rated ones I currently use. My computer even crashed following one of his operations. (See photo) He couldn't fix What he'd done. At first, he agreed to reimburse me, but then said he wouldn't give me anything back. I had to pay someone else to clean up his mess, and then to do the work I'd hired Mehul to do in the first place. As soon as I said to Mehul that I wanted my money back, he got nasty and began telling "untruths" about what had occurred. A huge waste of my time and money. Would not recommend.

"On October 13th, I went to this place in order to get the screen fixed on my Iphone 4S. After he repaired it screen by replacing it with a new one, one side of the screen did not work properly. Then he proceded to replace it for the second time. The next morning (Oct 14th) there was a discolouration on one side of the screen. The screen had another crack and the button to turn on/off the ringer had stopped functioning. I contacted him via phone call at around 11 am to ask for him to replace the screen again. We agreed that I was to call him when I was on my way to meet him. I called a couple of times when I was heading over, and I called when I arrived at this place. He never answered his phone. So I left a voicemail. I also sent an email with pictures of the discolouration and the broken screen; in it I suggested that he please send a refund via online money transfer. He later called back with a torrent of abusive language and a refusal to listen to reason and a vulgar suggestion that I should take my business elsewhere. He ended the call before I could even try to speak about the problem at hand. I was left with 70 dollars out of pocket, a broken phone and a really bad feeling of being insulted, duped and yelled at by a man trying to intimidate me."

On the day of the appointment, I was informed that the removal had to be halted as 'powder' had been discovered on the bedframe and this could indicate bed bugs. The team member called his boss and came back to inform me that they could not proceed that day, but after the unit had been treated, they would return to complete the job. For their 'troubles', I was asked to pay $300 (for the trucks & two men). In retrospect, this amount was quite high considering that it was this company's error in missing the powder upon their initial inspection. But as is often the case when processing grief after the loss of a loved one, I agreed to this amount without protest. A week later I received confirmation from the building management that the unit had been inspected and cleared of bed bugs, so I called Just Junk to reschedule. The first call was made to the original team member, Josh, who told me that he would check their calendar and get back to me to reschedule. After I had not heard back two days later, I called the 888 number and again expressed my intention to move forward and finish the job at the original agreed-upon price. I was told that the owner, Scott, would be in contact with me to discuss it further, and a week later I have still not heard back. As the month-end was approaching, I had no choice but to make alternative arrangements to complete this task. During the initial appointment, the team told me that they regularly cleaned out estate properties, and while I had first found that to be comforting, I am now appalled if this is how they choose to deal with families in the throes of crisis. Do not hire this company. Take the time to find another that actually demonstrates compassion and professionalism.

So we stacked up the garbage bags and called Just Junk Kingston. They said they couldnt make the next day, so would have to skip a day and would call with a quote. The next morning I found the racoons had gotten into about 5 black garbage bags and scattered some food. I put on rubber gloves and picked up the loose food and rebagged it. The 5 black bags were still ripped, but food contained. I had to leave to catch a plane and asked my son to approve the estimate they would call with. I mean how much could it be. $200? They called and said it $300 for the garbage, but another 3 hours at $75 to rebag the ripped bags. Of course my son had no clue what was involved, so just approved the estimate. I was now in the air with no access to cell. I almost lost my marbles when my son said they charged 3 hours to rebag. I'm guessing it would have been 15 minutes work. Then they asked if he'd like to leave a tip, which he did. This whole exercise felt like a total rip off. They knew I was no longer in town and had no option to approve the pick up. Scameroo. Never again. I've had good experiences with 1 800 Junk, in my home town, but dont think they are in Kingston. You've been warned.

Joe came and after twenty minutes after turning the washer on, the washer worked. He informed me that the electrical unit in the wall, had had some sort of electrical problem because of black streaks on the appliance recepticle plate. Joe told me that I needed an electrician not a plummer and that I owed him $129.00 plus tax. I had planned to give a credit card as I had no cash on me. I suggested a cheque which he agreed to saying to "write the cheque to Joe Potter and I'll deposit it into my account and transfer the money later". Hmmmm. I was not impressed with the cost involved nor was I feeling easy about writing out a personal cheque. Ohhh... and yes, I had to move the combination washer and dryer back myself.
