His prices were also better than the other plumbers who responded to my quote request. It turned out that the kitchen tap I purchased would not fit (I had a feeling it was not going to work). He removed the old kitchen tap, which was what I was having trouble with, and gave me some tips on how to install the new tap once I found one that fit. He then installed the bathroom tap and provided some other advice relating to the bathroom sink. He did not charge me for the kitchen tap installation. I found a kitchen tap that fit, and it is now installed and working great thanks to John. I will call him if I need any plumbing in the future. By mid next week (yes a wk later) we still did NOT have a functioning unit. Asked for it to be remove and void agreement (before the ten day) They ended up believing it was the plenum (ALSOstated the work would be done for free!!) and it needed changing. So, next day was that (coming up 10 days) still haven't gotten a copy of our contract OR a working unit! SO, we ask for them to remove it and we are told now it is past your 10days, so it will cost us $1,500 to have it removed. For the FEE work on the plenum. IF YOU CANCEAL before the 10 days you are going to pay whatever work was done. So, why hire that! Their Customer Relations NEVER called us, you know..... the customer!! They left it in the hands of the manager. Guess what?? He's the GUY we are having the issues with. So, don't count on a call or help from customer anything. The ONLY thing Reliance is reliable for, is that they are UNreliable. We wonder if that's how the manager gets his quota, guys get raises, group get voted group of the month. So, we are checking into our options. I REFUSE So, DONT Hire!

Aire One came out, issued an infraction, and told us the fireplace was "not up to code," then quickly pivoted to selling us a full replacement. No recall was cited, no clear explanation was given -- just urgency and pressure. What we later learned is what really concerns us. The fireplace wasn't simply turned off -- the gas valve had been physically locked. That's not something that happens accidentally. Someone had to deliberately do it. Even more concerning is the timing: this only happened after Aire One had recently replaced our furnace, a job that would have required shutting off the gas line. It's hard to ignore how "convenient" that is. When we questioned the infraction, my wife researched the fireplace thoroughly. There were no recalls, no safety notices, and no reason it should have failed inspection. Meanwhile, Aire One became difficult to deal with and repeatedly failed to follow through. On the day they were supposedly coming to replace the fireplace, we were told by dispatch that the crew had "broken down" on the way to our house. Later, the story changed: suddenly they weren't coming at all because they claimed the job would require removing brickwork -- something they said they wouldn't do. That raises an obvious question: If they supposedly couldn't do the job, why were they allegedly already on the road to our house when they "broke down"? We eventually contacted another HVAC company and spoke directly with the owner. Before we even finished explaining, he immediately asked if we had dealt with Aire One -- and then told us he hears stories like this often. He explained that they've developed a reputation for shutting off and locking fireplace gas valves, issuing infractions, and pushing replacements. He came over, unlocked the valve, turned it on, and the fireplace worked immediately. No repair. No replacement. He even helped us get the infraction removed. I can't speak to Aire One's intent -- but between the locked valve, the unsupported infraction, the push for replacement, and the contradictory explanations, the whole situation felt sneaky, misleading, and unethical. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion if Aire One tells you something in your home suddenly "isn't up to code."

But that meant I didnt have access to water anymore. I couldn't make the repair myself because it was pex piping on the other side of the valve, and i didn't have the skill or tools to do it. So, I called Jaytech Plumbing and asked if they could send someone quickly. Within about 25 minutes, Tom showed up at my house from Jaytech and he was super friendly and understanding. He gave me a very affordable quote on the spot, which I agreed to and he got to work right away and fixed my issue quickly. Valve replaced, water operating perfectly again and everything was good. From the time I called Jaytech to the time my issue was fixed, it was about 1 hour. Absolutely Outstanding Performance by Jaytech. I was so happy, it lifted my spirit for the reset of the day. I really recommend these guys at Jaytech. Plumbers are the service providers that you need to have saved to your phone so when an emergency happens, you already know who to call to get it fixed super fast.
