So frustrated. Dropped off my comforter and it's two matching shams for the $26.99 household special. When I go to pick it up, they charged me an additional $30.10 for the shams by themselves!!!! My dress did not get sent to the Okemos store in time, so I drove here to the plant to pick it up. They wouldn't look for it, wouldn't let me look for it, wouldn't call a manager, and wouldn't reimburse me so I could buy a replacement dress for that night. The woman behind the counter was empathetic, but still didn't do anything to solve the problem. She told me that they have angry customers like me all the time because orders are frequently late. I'm waiting for a call from a manager, but I'm not optimistic. read more

Let's start with the bad. Baryames is the most expensive cleaners you could imagine. I've lived in NYC and DC, and paid quite a bit less. That said, they do a good job with your clothes. And the delivery service is convenient and reliable. I would never pay the high prices if I picked up and dropped off the clothes myself. But if you factor in the delivery as part of the price, then it's worth it in the absence of other good options. read more

WARNING: do not go here. They are unprofessional and will destroy your items. They have you sign a form that protects them from covering any damages. See photos for the items that they destroyed of mine. They deformed a couch cushion and the cover, both items were nearly brand new. I spoke with Manager Heather Hicks and she could care less about helping me since I had already signed the waiver. Awful costumer service. Not even an apology! I took a very expensive ($700 Canada Goose brand) down coat there to be cleaned and it came back with one of the pulls on the two-way zipper missing. I was pretty upset about it seeing as how it was a brand new coat but they replaced the zipper with an identical one. I was impressed and appreciated the person that took the time to find the exact same zipper. The service is fine. read more

The best thing about Baryames is their customer service. Overall their dry cleaning and laundry services are not superior to any other local laundromat or dry cleaner, although you may expect it to be considering their astronomical pricing. I'd feel better about being overcharged if that was to help pay their employees competitively (you know, the people that keep their business running), but unfortunately that is not the case. Baryames treats their employees terribly and while this is not my only reason, it is the most crucial reason for my 1 star rating. Employees are over worked and under paid. They are reprimanded for minor errors that could be resolved with a conversation. Employee hours are cut without any notice or regard for the family that looks to them to provide. Baryames management regularly writes up team members for bogus "infractions" in order to make their fight at the unemployment office easier. You would think that their turn over rate (which somehow is higher than their prices) would be a sign that their operation needs some revamping. The owners and management alike, show a complete absence of respect or appreciation. Bottom line, they do not care for their employees. They take advantage of the current economic state of the greater Ingham County area and the grave need for employment due to the ever rising cost of living and scarcity of jobs. It is clear that the owners and managerial team lack even the most basic of management skills. They are out of touch and in dire need of management training. I would never support a company that treats the only exceptional quality about itself like garbage. read more

The young woman who helped me remembered my name on my second visit and was kind enough to make me aware of what daily specials they offer to help save me some money. I am very disappointed. I took 2 skirts to be cleaned. They came back with nonfunctional zippers. I took them back. The employee verified that the zippers were functional when they were originally dropped off. I left the skirts to have the zippers waxed for free. Felt good about Baryames. Today I get my skirts back. One the zipper works perfectly. Thank you Baryames. The other one is broken. They offered to replace it for $24. No thanks Baryames. read more

I went to this cleaners and they said they said the the price would be 7.99 or 7.50 can't remember exactly because I didn't pay that. It was supposed to be on special. I went to pick it up and the price was double. Her explanation was the person was new and didn't know. So if he is new and doesn't know the prices why is he working alone? I paid 18.29. More than double what I was told. Offered me a credit. What?! I'm never going back to guess the price cleaners. I told her I just wanted a price adjustment. I told her you know I don't have a choice but to pay or I don't get my coat back. Of course the manager was gone for the day. I'm still going to call and talk to her about how dissatisfied I am with their service.If you decide to go to this place I'd suggest getting something in writing because you'll get taken to the cleaners too. read more

I asked them to dry clean some expensive merino wool sweaters but I'm reasonably sure they simply wet washed them. It appeared they were left on the hanger wet because they were badly stretched and wrinkled from how they were hung while the sleeves were shrunk. Their prices were outrageously expensive to boot.
