I had a terrible experience with Basco Shower Doors. I purchased my door for about $1300.00 at Lowe's. When the contractors were installing the door one of the glass panels shattered. I ordered a replacement for the broken panel and it took over a month to receive the replacement after multiple failed attempts to communicate with the company. After I received the replacement panel the contractor proceeded to install it. Not too long into the installation process, the other glass panel shattered. Needless to say, my shower remodel project was delayed by over two months due to a flawed shower door. Additionally, my family would have potentially been exposed to serious injury as the glass panels would have shattered while someone was showering. Therefore, I would not NEVER recommend the Basco Shower Doors to anyone. For the price I paid, I would have gotten a better quality shower door from a more reputable brand. read more

I needed a part for a shower door. Tried using their online Parts Store, but that site was not working. Chat line did not work either . Called their Mason Ohio location and sent several emails with photos displaying what I needed. Never got any responses. Gave up and ordered from another source. On Sunday, 5/19/2024, the tempered glass in our shower wall spontaneously exploded. The tempered glass shot out like shrapnel, putting nicks in our tile and the shower floor. The glass and tile was installed in January 2022. Basco and installer, Showers Plus More, state that they will only replace the glass, but not the installation and replace/repair the nicked tile. read more

Something to consider before purchasing a Basco shower door... In November of 2023 we ordered a Basco Rolaire 395-59 shower door, and it was installed in mid-December. On December 29th, I finished taking a shower and opened the door to get my towel and the door shattered. I didn't move, glass was everywhere, Thankfully my husband was home. He heard the crash and came to help me. He laid down towels and gave me water shoes to walk out on. If he wasn't home, I don't know how I would've gotten out of the shower, aside from walking on glass which covered the entire bathroom floor and out the hallway. I had cuts all over my calves and feet. Two spots were bleeding a lot so my husband bandaged them and we went to the ER. On our way to the ER , My husband called the dealer who sold us and installed the Basco door. They asked how I was and offered to help clean up the mess when we returned from the ER, which they promptly did. They also inspected the situation and said it was installed correctly but the glass must not have been tempered correctly. The dealer put us in touch with the regional sales rep for Basco. Several days later when my husband heard back from the rep she was defensive and not very helpful. As soon as he mentioned property damage and injury as a result of the incident she refused to discuss the matter further and referred us to the corporate office. It took several calls from the dealer on our behalf before someone from Basco corporate finally called back. When they did, it was not someone who was in a position to make a decision and they indicated we needed to email pictures and invoices for the damages. We have done that and to date have yet to hear back from Basco. We were not seeking damages other than what our costs were: $1,323.30 for the ER visit $712 to replace the damaged tile bench in the shower $200 to replace a scratched cabinet door $100 for towels We are still finding shards in the bathroom and I still have scars that are healing. It hurt to wear shoes for a month and I have to go back to the doctor because I think there is a glass piece in one of my toes yet. Our grandchildren use this shower, and thank God one of them was not using it when this happened because at their height, the glass could've caused serious injuries. The defective door has been replaced with an upgraded laminated glass unit thanks to our dealer. Unfortunately, we have had to put the dealer between us and Basco so now they are out money also because of Basco's inaction. As a company, Basco should have acknowledged the fault of their product, apologised and made it right in a timely manner. They did not. read more

Terrible customer service. Had a minor issue with parts for my very expensive low quality shower door. Customer service through Basco was a nightmare to say the least. Also, shower door is of lower quality compared to other brands I have used in the past. read more

While ordering enclosure we could not stressed more to BASCO company representative that we want frameless enclosure Not only we got ugly frame, no one even bother to coordinate materials of this frame with the rest of the bathroom. As a result material of frame does not match with materials of faucets. It is obvious that we received not enclosure we want but enclosure BASCO can make .And apparently it is not a lot. Basco was a subcontractor on my recent bathroom refresh. Basco was on the hook to measure and install the shower door. I'm not sure whether the mistake was made at measuring, fabrication, or installation, but the first 2 doors fabricated did not fit the space. The third door did fit. The good news (I suppose) is that I did not have to pay anything additional since Basco was performing the install. However, as a result of these mistakes, 6 weeks of schedule were added to my bathroom refresh job. We're pleased with the door itself, now that it's installed. It does creak every time it's opened, but that's more of an annoyance that anything else. read more

One star is too good for this company. On 6/23/21 the shower door shattered after one month of being installed all over my bathroom and on top of my daughter with thousands of glass pieces into her hair and glass shards stuck into her skin which led her to the ER. They didn't know how to treat her with so many pieces stuck in her hair & body. Grateful it didn't get into her eyes. My bathroom floor was a pool of blood. It took several days for the glass powder residue to get completely washed off of her body. After a week of finally getting through to someone, Basco let us know that this incident has had happened before if the glass is cut wrong or a bubble has gotten into the glass during production. I was also told by their manager that he would inform their insurance company Travellers of this accident. By 10/21, I came to the realization that he'd never notified the insurance company. Even when I made them get their rep to come to check the damages, his findings were that my installer had done everything right according to the installation instructions. Fast forward, once I opened a claim with Travellers, without any knowledge of anything, they 1) blamed my installer 2) my daughter was responsible for the way she had opened the door. Basco won't reply to any of my emails nor would they share the reps findings towards the installation of the door followed by Travellers telling me that they are not planning on giving me my money for the shower door or any of the expenses of the damage repairs and told me I can go sue them!! If you are not at fault, why won't you share this information that I have a right to know when someone steps into my house? Shame on you Basco, Travellers insurance & Lowe's for not taking any responsibility in this matter. There are many more reviews online with this same situation where not only the glass broke, but even the replacement door shattered again within days of installation. read more

So here is my story. Yesterday the 17th of February I installed my shower doors the I purchased from Home Depot thru Basco. I bought the doors last year the 31st of March but due to a medical issue which rendered me unable to install them I was only able to install on my vacation. The installation started off good, the frame work went as planned according to the instructions. When it came to the doors, the first one went well, the second went on but then the glass exploded sending glass into thousands of pieces. After the shock I did a lot of contacting and sent a message with pictures on social media then something unexpected happened, I received a fast response. The company called me Friday morning, they asked if I was okay (that was the first thing) then they apologize for what had happened then they gathered my information and within two hours there was a full refund posting to my credit card. I read a lot of negative reviews and figured that I would be treated the same, I'm not sure what happened to the other issues but this company made it good with out a single issue. They did ask if I wanted a reply, due to the past experience I declined and they were fine with that. So for how this company processed this they get a 5 star review. Truly, and genuinely, the interactions that my wife and I had, with Basco, were as deplorable and pathetic as any that I can recall. The representatives were consistently rude, evasive, and disingenuous. At the start of a 4 bedroom 2 bath remodel, we purchased everything we needed for the job. The only thing different from any other time was we bought a Bosco shower door. Big mistake. When it came time to begin the master bath remodel, we opened the box for the Bosco shower door. We found there were 3 parts missing. I contacted customer service with all the information only to be told the 45-day window to replace missing parts had expired and I would have to purchase the parts. Excuse me? 45-day window? On top of that the 3 parts come to almost $100, not including shipping. It's not only the scam artists calling you on the phone you have to worry about. Missing parts happen, but I have never had a company deny replacement of parts they failed to provide before. I have had companies in China with better customer service than this American company. Also, what's the odds of it the parts costing almost a 1/3 of the door itself. read more

Poor installation, gooped up silicone, cracked tile during install and did not tell me, glass was not mitered as I was told, and it leaks, the installer was rude and unprofessional. The order took 6 weeks longer then we were originally told, then had to be remeasured. Contacted customer service and have not heard anything. The price for a neo angle door and a half glass wall was $2700. I except more for this. read more

They advertise a lifetime warranty but note: Warranty is not transferable. Also warranty does not cover parts, labor, workmanship or functionality. I called customer support days after registering and they said they could find no record of my registration. They asked for a sales receipt (for a shower door my contractor ordered.) BTW - My call to them was because the door was leaking badly. I was just hoping for a replacement seal. They said it sounds like it was their cheaper model door and they don't warranty against leaks. read more

we purchased an expensive shower door and 2 months they had to come back to adjust because of a leak. That was covered under warranty. then couple months after warranty we had same problem. So we called them to come out to repair they said there was 140.00 service call plus parts 26 dollars more. The repairman told us the door wasnt installed right the first time. So we felt like we shouldnt be charged the service call.The repairman corrected the problem within 30 minutes. They still wouldnt refund our service call. we will never again buy their product. read more

I have had a very disappointing experience with my new Basco shower door. It started with poor workmanship from day one, over two months ago. There was a screw cutting through the metal frame and the other side of the frame was cracked. They forgot to caulk the corners of the shower door where water leaked out on the tile floor and destroyed the grout. None of this was discovered until the shower was in use. I found out later that the installers knew about these issues when they installed it but failed to tell me. Since then, I have had 8 or 9 service calls. Even though they corrected the above issues, I still have water leaking out onto the tile every time I clean the shower door. The shower door that was replaced was also a Basco and never leaked in over 20 years. The first several service calls were with the local salesman who said that the water leaking onto the floor was unacceptable. However, he was unable to fix the issue and told me there is nothing else he could do for me. At this point, the regional director was contacted by the salesman. I was told he would call me by the end of that week but I was never contacted. I had to personally call the regional director. Every point of contact had to be initiated by me all along. No one would ever contact me when they said they would. It took another 2 weeks before the regional director came out to inspect the leak. He confirmed that there was nothing they could do to fix it other than removing the door and refunding all of my money. He also said I should not have been treated this way by the Mason employees. I requested to be compensated for all of my time and trouble waiting on service calls and poor craftsmanship. He stated he would contact me within 2 days. After 4 days without contact, I called him and left a message which he did not return. Then 8 days later, I left another message and have yet to hear back from him. This is unacceptable. I should not have a shower door that leaks every time it is cleaned. The employees have not been respectful of my time or my concerns. read more
