They did a nice job no more water in the basement. Hated the little in ground sump discharge tank in the yard...always standing water. We ultimately had a local contractor reroute the sump discharge to the city storm sewer system $$$. It resolved the problem. Ayers at the same time also installed new basement windows (wrong type) but never finished the installation until months later after a lot of calling...in the interim we patched them as best we could, but our basement became a haven for spiders and other insects. The next year at our annual Ayers sump inspection, Zach (Zachart Stout) pointed out the failing of our 80-year-old north basement wall, of which we were already aware of. So, by 2026 after annual inspections by Zach, the wall situation had worsened to the point of needing repair (or take your chances). An Ayers crew came out and installed a series of GeoLock wall anchors to stabilize the wall. Their work was timely, very efficient and left no mess. We probably would have rated Ayers with a 5 if it hadn't been such a poor previous experience with the windows. Thanks, Zach, for your help and advice over the years.

Why would a customer pay for a job that is not done. 2nd visit they had the very same trouble with injection gun, and then spilled brake fluid on my newly sealed driveway. Apparently brake fluid is used to clean the gun. 3rd visit they finally had equipment that actually worked. But I would not let them apply the seam sealant because it was gray and did not match my colored stamped patio, in which the sales representative said they would at least try to match the best they could. Gray was not even close. 4th visit they applied the sealant and added the colored sand to surface to match the patio. On the final visit they only offered $100 discount for my stained driveway. I reluctantly agreed just to get them out of my yard. They should of offered more because of the four visits to do a small job and the permanent stain on my driveway. My father was asking if Ayers should level his sidewalk, my response; Heck no, find someone else. I do not recommend this company at all. See photos of permanent stain that they didn't even try to remove, they left it for me to clean the best I could.

It looks like US Waterproofing (USW) is a big player in IL & IN.... I had a huge crack in my basement wall that leaked bad enough that sand started pooling at the base of the crack. I had 6 estimates from $750 - $32,000, which ranged from just filling the crack all the way to interior & exterior foundation drains. USW was a mid quote, but the most bang for your buck and they offered a military, teacher, or first responder discount. With USW I got the crack filled/repaired, an interior floor drain dug from the crack to my sump pump (complete with a 90 mil wall liner), and a new battery back up sump pump installed. Their quote was reasonable, but installation of a new sump pump was the kicker for me and why I went with USW. They got me on the books the next week and took about 5 hours to the complete the job. What they got right: 1. They wrote into my quote that all exposed carpet from the entry of the house to the job would be covered. And they did an excellent job of this. 2. The team that was sent over was professional, friendly and let me watch and ask questions throughout the whole process. 3. Although they put up plastic walls around the work area, they warn you the process can stir up lots of concrete dust that will get everywhere. 4. My salesperson kept an open communication with me via text throughout, and after, the whole process. What they got wrong: 1. The exhausting sales binder they are required to go through with you. It's a 4 inch binder! 2. Although the binder is HUGE, they don't represent the final product transparently enough. I was quoted an access port to clean out the drain, but it stuck up 2 inches out of the floor, and they location they chose for it would've messed up my laundry set up, so I had them remove it (they need a flush access port option!). Another example is they did not have a great picture of what the wall liner looks like, nor did they have a physical example on hand. The salespeople should carry an example of the wall liner with them. 3. The 'crew boss' shows up and just walks right into my house and down to the basement, without announcing or introducing himself. I did not appreciate this, whatsoever. #2 & 3 of what they got wrong is why I took off a star, all in all, I'm pleased with the final product and what I paid for it.

It caused way more problems then intended, and instead of the original planned 3 hours, they spent 8 to make sure everything got done to satisfaction without charging any extra for my driveway taking 3x longer than expected. We expected to have to replace much/all of the driveway, but when Art came out he said he could make it level like a new driveway, and his team did. They were very courteous, and even apologized for staying until 10pm! If I ever have any more mudjacking or concrete repair needs, I will definitely be calling Ace Mudjacking.

I have had to take care of needed repairs that came to my attention. I had Keith come out in August of 2024 and repaired 3 tie rod leaks. He did a great job. In May of this year I had to have more work done that I wasn't aware of because the leaks only occurred during really heavy rains. This time Dean came out and did a great job. 22 tie rod leaks and 2 cracks were repaired. Dean also gave me recommendations on companies to call for the remaining leak that Dean's company can't handle. Mr. Sponge's scheduler and Dean were able to accommodate my having to care for my Mom and being available to assist with showing Dean what I needed done. Mr. Sponge is a great company.

In 2024 I entered into a contract (which I paid cash for) with HomeSpec to have my basement waterproofed and a sump pump installed. Over the following two years my basement continued to take on water after heavy rainfalls. After multiple visits that yeilded no answers and a periood where communication stalled, I posted a negative review to express my frustration. Shortly after posting, HomeSpec reached out and sent a team back to my home. Thats when management representative Brian stepped in and took full accountability for finding the root cause. He used a practical methods to track the water flow, he placed paper towels around the perimeter to pinpoint the entry point and found it. After the next rain he had his crew to remove the drywall and insulation to expose the hidden leak. Once the leak was identified, the crew repaired the issue. As of 9/2/2026, HomeSpec has restored my basement by installing new insulation, putting up and painting new drywall as replacing my electrical fixtures in the area where there was water damage. While the overall process took a long time and required significant peristance to reach a solution, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Brian for his professionalism, determination to making things right, Hopefully the issue is now resolved, and I will be monitoring the basement during upcoming rainfalls to ensure the fix remains permanent.
