This was not an inexpensive job compared to other contractor prices, but we went with Franks because of their reputation. Not everything went exactly to plan, a couple things were missed by people, but Frank called me personally because he was not happy with the execution of the project. I wasn't even that upset because they felt like minor annoyances compared to past contractor experiences I have had. They had already communicated that they intended to send different people out to fix them, but Frank went above and beyond! See during and final pictures! We fully intend to use them again for some future basement projects. Listen, you can't control everything everyone does as an employee of your company, but you can make it right. And if you aren't sure if a company you hire is going to have your back if something goes wrong unexpectedly or something gets missed, then just choose Frank's because they are just incredible at taking care of their customers. Also no clean out on that wall. I'm told the sump is the low point. Hard to get water in when it's built up higher than the floor level. I have water lines that need draining before winter and it goes onto the floor and it pools up nowhere near a "clean out". If it's only a "clean out " why is it sloped downward? I guess that explains why its at a point the water doesn't go to. Not a drain. Grr. Also my water intrusion shot right past the bright wall and created a pond nowhere near a "clean out " coincidentally the area the water pulls up at is where the drain used to be before they removed it. Also, during the recent heavy rain for days, if you look in the inspection, clean out port, there is no water flowing. It does not follow the drain tile. It's beneath it. Knowing Jeff's computer shop was close, I went over in person and explained the problem. Jeff came to the house later that afternoon. First, he said it was not the modem. Almost THREE hours later, he decided it WAS the modem. The following day he brought one and installed it . The bill was $440. The modem he installed might have been used, as it did not have a box. In any case, December 2019, the modem died. Being wiser (and poorer) now, I called Spectrum to come and install one of their modems (free). Its been working since.

A year ago we called Crawford Basements out to look at a basement window well which was leaking in…read morea new property we purchased. The wall under the window was starting to get moldy and we were very concerned. I assumed the recommendation would be to glass block the window in. Dave Crawford Jr., the company representative, said that would be completely inadequate and went on to recommend a window well drain and a complete drainage system under the existing concrete floor. Cost $7695. He was very persuasive and insisted with confidence that this was the only adequate method to control the moisture. I stupidly signed the contract and put 30% down ($2308.50). Two days later I called Crawford Basements back to hold off and try the glass block first. I asked if they would put in the glass block for me first and they said that was not a service they offered. After much pestering by me, and many phone calls, they finally said they would refund all but $400, but would put that amount toward the full drainage system if I should decide to do that. I had another company install the glass block for $230. The problem disappeared immediately and hasn't returned. That was a year ago. This company only has this expensive drainage product and they will push that on you aggressively. Be careful with Dave Crawford, he is very smooth for his young age and will prey on your concern about mold. Legally, Crawford Basements did nothing wrong because I signed the contract, however, most reputable contractors either don't pressure you to sign and put money down (2 months ahead of the scheduled start day), or they refund your money if they have spent ZERO time on your job - because they want your future business. This lesson cost me $400.
