I will never forget what an important role you played in my life in the surf culture and industry along with the Pai family in Huntington Beach. My life and im sure San Clemente and the surfing crowd and board makers and shapers have a huge pieces gone forever and no one will ever replace and fit the mold gone forever but still here and remembered. Stay away, worst customer service in the industry !!!! I called to cancel my order and was put on hold for 20 mins. Called again and was told the person that runs the online shop only works on weekends. Wrote an email asking to cancel my order got a response right away saying that he was there and that the salesperson never said that I was calling to cancel. Now I need to receive the shipment and pay for shipment back when the owner could have just answered the phone!!! What a joke. How is this place still in business read more

What an extraordinary group of guys that work here and run this place. I stopped by this shop after a surf session that ended with the nose of my longboard getting dinged up pretty good. The shop wasn't taking Surftech tuflite boards for repair anymore, but I was so fortunate to meet Norm, who very graciously helped me through a VERY thorough tutorial and demonstration of how to fix the nose with solarez. Everyone here went above and beyond to help teach me and send me off with a water tight board ready surf again. I had a bunch of questions about fins that they helped me with as well. I can see how their customer service can be misconstrued, they give off a stand-off vibe at first. Nevertheless, they have excellent customer service, and hook up it for being a customer there. For instance I bought a customized board there for, an employee forgot to take the extra discount off, they called me the next day and gave the money back for the discount. I don't know why people think customer service is about how warm and bubbly you are. The real world ain't like that. Maybe stop being so soft? Overall awesome surf shop! read more

When i went in to buy accessories, i was ready to walk right back out when i ask a employee for help he said to me i work in the back and kept walking to the back. Once a female walked in he had no problem helping her. I would had walked out but once i had reached the cash register the man behind the counter was somewhat helpful although they had major problems on ringing up the items since their bar codes where not set up properly. I will never shop here again as they do not care about customers at all and not organized. read more

FIVE STAR SERVICE !!! Basham's Surf Shop makes sure the customer is happy! Brett & a very nice lady (didn't get her name) were awesome! Purchased an FCS pic & FCS retrofit center fin box. Neither fit my board or probably any board. The pic was too big for the retro box. Other FCS fins didn't fit the retro box. Poor quality control by FCS as none of the pics in inventory fit. When I contacted FCS in San Diego they blew me off. Basham's refunded my $$$ & thanked me for bringing the issue to their attention. I will shop at Basham's anytime I need surf gear! I went to Bashams for ding repairs on an old RA board as their website claims that color matching is their specialty, After 3 weeks with the board, the dings were fixed but still stand out as they didn't bother getting it even close to the color of the rest of the board. When I called to talk to someone about it the next day, the guy who answered the phone was rude and said that they don't guarantee a color match and color matching would be an extra charge. For the $$$ they charge, you'd think they would care about customers. Take you hard earned money somewhere else. read more

Have always had my boards repaired here, and have had several hand-shapes glassed as well. The crew has always been very knowledgeable and helpful, turn around time is very quick (about 1 week for repairs, 2 for glassing) and the prices are very competitive. They also have a good selection of blanks, all the essential accessories, and a decent variety of used boards. These guys are best in the biz, give them a visit! read more

Cool surf shop; kind of a Mitch's OC. If you're after a longboard / retro fin or two plus one fins, this is the place. I drove up from SD for one fin and ended up with three! They've got building supplies, local boards (I'm assuming) and a lot used boards for fair prices. A true surf shop without the fluff. It's a big cavernous place and I guess a board and repair factory out back as well. read more

Bashams dialed me in on multiple occasions. First I needed to have an old vintage log shipped to another state and they handled it with flying colors. Next had another old vintage log that had a terrible ding on nos where it was coming apart. They handled it like champs again at a reasonable price. The shop has like 80 years worth of surfboard experience in it and they support the community. I will be coming back for my surfboard needs and would highly recommend. THANK YOU BASHAMS ! read more

I get all of my blanks from Bashams. Their prices on blanks and other surf accessories are better than most other places. I custom order most of my blanks from US through Bashams, they are great about faxing in the order right away and most of the time I have my blanks in a few days. read more
