I have very wide feet with a high arch to go along with a Size 12-13 shoe size. Finding shoes that fit and are comfy IS A NIGHTMARE! Or....was. Until I found this place. It is a 30+ mile drive for me, so I don't go all that often but THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE I BUY SHOES! I can really only wear New Balance shoes. They have a great selection. I also love it when they have: Buy ONE Pair - get 50% off the 2nd pair making for a great value for the money. I make the drive and buy 2 pairs of shoes and I am good for about a year. I went in here looking for a real tennis shoe, 1006, as it's very hard to get. Customer service representative Jeremy helped me out. He immediately knew where they were located, which I thought was a joke. Sure enough, he was spot on the exact location. I asked a bit about sizing, as I have 4E and it's too big; his advice was solid. In a day in age where many merely know only how to ring up items, it refreshing to be present around someone who not only knows the product, but it appears, by listening to him, that he knows about a lot of different shoes. They had a New Balance shoe for $64.99. I tried both shoes and it felt hard. As hard as if I was walking on the hard floor, as if I was walking bare footed. I needed to exchange some new balance socks that I had bought from another New Balance outlet store in FL. So once I got back to CA, I went to the outlet store in San Clemente hoping that I could make at least an exchange, because the elastic was just too uncomfortable for me to wear. I was happy to meet Ken, the manager of the store, and he was GREAT. He not only gave me the exchange, but since I still needed a good pair of socks, he took the time to make sure that the ones I chose were going to be comfortable and I would walk away happy and comfortable with the purchase this time around. I came in with my daughter that is 10 months old and a stroller. ( for reference and management Both sales associate, a Caucasian male with a beard as well as an Indian gentleman ) saw me struggled trying to get in the store with my stroller. No one assisted me. They saw me attempting to walk in, and nothing. I barely was greeted. I wanted to purchase a few maiden Usa sneakers, and the lack of motivation and customer service was beyond me. I work in luxury retail and definitely do not support to shop at this location. As I tried to exit the store, I was waiting to see if they were going to assist me by helping me with the door and my stroller, and yet again no assistance. Went here 2 days ago with my boyfriend and my 10 month old son. My boyfriend and I both needed a new pair of shoes to workout in. We already knew we were going to buy a pair of shoes each and drove over 30 minutes just to come to this store. When we came in there were 3 employees at the register just talking to each other, maybe 2 other customers in the store. No one greeted us. We looked up and down the aisles at the different shoes. No one came over to offer us help. The other customers left. The employees walked by us to go to the back room and didn't greet us or ask us if we needed help. We were probably there about a good 15 minutes. We were already planning on ordering shoes with the help of the employees to be shipped straight to our house if we didn't find anything there that we liked. But after being ignored I felt I didn't want to give them our money. My boyfriend found a pair of slides he wanted to buy so we went up to the counter. No one was at the counter but there was an employee looking through a rack maybe 10 feet away from us, again no one else is in the store. We literally stood there waiting for a good 5 minutes before he came over to help us finally. When we left my boyfriend told me he felt like they were watching us waiting for us to steal something. I can not say enough about 2 incredible sales reps Shane and Dani. I have 2 kids who needed shoes and were not feeling it, they wanted to be anywhere but the shoe store. Dani patiently helped my daughter find a perfect shoe and an insert to make it super comfy. Shane took tender time to get to know my preteen and help him pick out some super cool kicks. He even helped teaching him a double knot technique to make it easier. Quite disappointing. There wasn't a huge selection of shoes at all. There's a large clearance wall but most of the sizes are too large aka 8 and up. The non clearance shelves don't offer much variety either. I drove to San Clemente outlets looking to buy new balance shoes but left empty handed because I couldn't find anything I wanted. Also they were barely outlet prices. Though they do offer deals like buy one get one 50% off. Even so there were so few designs to choose from I ended up not taking advantage of the deal. Besides shoes they also stock some clothes, accessories etc, though I do wish they'd used that space to stock more shoes instead. read more

OK......my running/walking shoes were getting a bit old. My feet were starting to ache. The outlets are just down the street......where to start? I had some New Balance before that I liked so i cautiously walked in there. This awesome woman Dani asked if she could help. And she meant it! I told here the foot issues and she knew exactly what would be best for me. She had me try on a ton of great options and narrowed it down to their newest style of "Fresh Foam" shoes. Upscale, great support, the most comfortable shoe I have worn in a long time. I have been out running with my wife several times and she noticed the difference! I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but I feel like I need to share my my recent experience with New Balance San Clemente. As an avid runner I've never really taking the time to research a good pair of shoes. Which is one of the reasons I'm so happy I visited new balance. Apart, from there great styles, comfort, and quality. These are the best shoes I've ever set feet in! Somehow the shoes have corrected my form and giving me more endurance. Now I'm not sitting on the couch every night icing my knees and babying sore ankles. The second reason that will always keep me coming back. Is there friendly, knowledgeable and experienced staff. Dani, who greeted my kids and I at the door with a comforting welcome. Took us around the store explaining the difference between several athletic shoes. She was so helpful and friendly. I Drove 30 miles to get help return a shoe bought online after confirming with a salesperson on the phone that they could help me only to be told at the store they cant help me. I was then offered a store credit for the shoe but at 30$ less than what I payed for online. Total waste of time and effort. Their choices were also limited. Very disappointing. read more
