The couple who ran this florist was very helpful. I asked the husband about matching an arrangement that would mimic my wife's bridal bouquet. Our wedding anniversary had just happened, but I thought it would be great to do this for her. They had some flowers in the cooler, but I was hoping for something closer. He said they didn't have a lilly that was part of the original bouquet and suggested another florist in town. But I thought, hey I'm here, nice people and I would prefer to shop local, so I picked a bouquet that would do. His wife freshend up the flowers and added some pieces to make it closer to my wife's original bouquet. Excellent family business. My wife was happy and so was I. Thank you.

I called about two weeks ahead of time to make sure that I created the best opportunity to find the right florist, to create something very custom and special for my best friends birthday. I chose a local Bristol, Ct florist rather than a florist from Washington state where I live so that there would be A local business chosen. I spoke at length to the floral arranger so there would be an understanding about how important my best friend knew how much I loved her. I discussed her favorite colors, her artistic and loving personality. To make it more fun I asked that a special happy birthday balloon be added to the display. I paid $125.00. I got the delivery of possibly the ugliest floral display that I have ever seen. It looked wilted as if it was not fresh at all. The colors were not a soft pastel presentation as was discussed. There were soft pastels that were jarred with an ugly harsh gold flower which had no harmony or grace. No flow. The balloon if possible made it even worse. It looked like a cheap choice that one cold easily find in a dollar store clearance aisle. My poor friend had to act as if she loved the flowers. Finally I was able to get her to send me a picture. I immediately reacted until she finally agreed that she too thought the display was just AWFUL. I contacted the florist and I would have appreciated some understanding of how disappointing it was for me to have this be such a different bouquet than one that my best friend should receive. A delivery of a single rose and an apology would have been nice. I didn't hear from the shop owner nor did I receive anything remotely resembling a caring response‼ DO NOT send ANYONE you care or love flowers from this shop. Twice my husband bought me flowers from CT Flower Shop and both times the flowers were nearly dead…read morewithin 24 hours. The first time I didn't say anything because I didn't want my husband to feel bad. This time, for Mother's Day, when the flowers were a wilted mess within 24 hours I decided to write to the shop and send photos to give them an opportunity to make it right with a refund or replacement, particularly since my husband spent over $180 to have this arrangement delivered. (By the way, the arrangement is appallingly overpriced at $144 and my husband prepaid a hefty delivery fee and an additional very large tip of $20). Although she has promised to send another arrangement today to replace it, she had the audacity to say next time I should follow the instructions and give it water because she claimed there was no water in that vase when in fact it was 3/4 full of water still. The photos provided in my email were close-ups of the wilted flowers and didn't show the vase. I couldn't believe how insulting her response was, trying to deflect blame on the customer. I sent her a response with an additional photo of the full vase of water.... did she think a bouquet of flowers was going to drink nearly half-gallon of water in 12 hours since delivery????? We regularly give businesses second chances, often more, but when a business blames the customer without evidence/justification that's a deal breaker for me. I told my husband just now that he should never use that florist again. I'd rather have no flowers than get poor quality, overpriced flowers from a place that would insult customers like this. Follow up -- in a subsequent email response to me when I had told her that I didn't appreciate her insulting comment, she accused me of refilling the vase after the fact and claimed that my original photo proves it, and refers to me as "triggered". I've added a photo of this communication. And, the first two photos I had attached to this review are what I had sent her (not the one focused on the vase which I sent her after she insulted me). I'm adding to this review a duplicate of the one photo I had sent her and I've added a notation pointing to the water line in that photo - the photo she's claiming shows there's no water. Can you imagine an arrangement drinking over half a gallon of water within like 18 hours LOL. Her behavior in this situation is appalling. 5/13 @ 12:37pm ET: Adding my response to the florist's comment below: She has been repeatedly rude. After making crazy accusations and calling me triggered in email, I told her to not bother sending a new arrangement and instead to send my husband a refund. She was given the opportunity to make it right with my outreach and she chose to be incredibly rude and insulting and direct blame at me rather than just graciously taking accountability like a professional would. After her repeated insults I decided I prefer to not have her come to my house at this point. I've never had to write a bad florist review in all the years my wonderful husband has had flowers sent to me at least 3x/year...till this terrible encounter with this rude woman.

My husband has bought me flowers from there, we used them for our wedding and other occasions. The last few times my husband has sent me arrangements, the flowers are not fresh. The stems are brown and they die within a couple of days. The last batch of a dozen red roses were drooping 2 days after they were delivered. I am not surprised because the leaves and stems did not look fresh. Over a hundred dollars and they are now in the garbage a couple of days later. Fresh flowers should be able to last a solid week without an issue. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

I will NEVER use them again, I'm very disappointed and here I was expecting to brighten the day of someone who is going thru a difficult time.
