Hubbard Florist - Stunning birthday arrangement - Florists Near Me - Bristol, Connecticut

I don't like to post reviews that are negative. In this case I have no choice. I called about two weeks ahead of time to make sure that I created the best opportunity to find the right florist, to create something very custom and special for my best friends birthday. I chose a local Bristol, Ct florist rather than a florist from Washington state where I live so that there would be A local business chosen. I spoke at length to the floral arranger so there would be an understanding about how important my best friend knew how much I loved her. I discussed her favorite colors, her artistic and loving personality. To make it more fun I asked that a special happy birthday balloon be added to the display. I paid $125.00. I got the delivery of possibly the ugliest floral display that I have ever seen. It looked wilted as if it was not fresh at all. The colors were not a soft pastel presentation as was discussed. There were soft pastels that were jarred with an ugly harsh gold flower which had no harmony or grace. No flow. The balloon if possible made it even worse. It looked like a cheap choice that one cold easily find in a dollar store clearance aisle. My poor friend had to act as if she loved the flowers. Finally I was able to get her to send me a picture. I immediately reacted until she finally agreed that she too thought the display was just AWFUL. I contacted the florist and I would have appreciated some understanding of how disappointing it was for me to have this be such a different bouquet than one that my best friend should receive. A delivery of a single rose and an apology would have been nice. I didn't hear from the shop owner nor did I receive anything remotely resembling a caring response‼ DO NOT send ANYONE you care or love flowers from this shop. I have nothing to say more than I have already said. I could have gone to a grocery store and picked a bouquet that would have been better. Penny Strong read more

I placed an order through telafora to be delivered to a friend and the arrangement I chose and paid for had a ceramic Angel included which is meant to be a keepsake for the family. When after the funeral services the family sent me a picture of a 5 inch arrangement if you can call it that considering it contains 4 white roses & two Lilly's and babies breath. I sent her a picture of what I had actually ordered. I then called teleflora of course they wouldn't give me the florist's name but the recipient did. The florist told her she received what they felt I paid for nothing more. Ridiculous I have pictures of both terrible business practices and doubting they will be getting paid The arrangement with purple flowers and angel is what I paid for ordered, the white flowers & babies breath is what they said "was worth what I paid " read more

For the price paid, the customer service was very poor. I placed an order for the "teleflora's pretty posy bouquet" which was supposed to be an arrangement with only pink and lavender flowers, to be delivered in a "stunning mosaic iridescent vase" the day before Mother's Day, for my sister who just became a new mom and this was her first year celebrating. So what my sister got was a similar bouquet, but not a single flower was lavender. Instead, lavender was replaced with deep burgundy daisies and peach carnations (more like a bouquet you'd choose in the Fall time) and in a blue-ish transparent square vase that you can get from HomeGoods and definitely not what I had ordered and had no clue about any changes. I called Monday morning shortly after they opened, to ask the manager why I didn't get a phone call about how different both the bouquet and vase would be and Amanda, who identified herself as the manager, said she would look into it and call me back. Well she didn't- I had to call back again hours later. She said on their website it says that they are subject to make substitutions and that it says they don't need to contact the customer to let them know? Nowhere on their site mentions how the customer doesn't need to be notified to confirm the change so I certainly believe she wasn't being truthful about that. I paid well over $100 and she said the reason my price was high was because of the stuffed animal I purchased on top of the flowers, as if paying $80 plus tax for just the bouquet, plus a delivery fee of $12 wasn't going to be $100 in itself, so as a manager of this business, Amanda was extremely rude, insulting and unprofessional. I just wanted to say that this Florist Shop is amazing. I few months ago, I wanted to send my sister some " just because you are amazing" flowers . I contacted Hubbard florist. I currently reside in Wisconsin. My other half of my family is in Connecticut. It was very last minute given there a different with the time because of the time zone . They listened and delivered on the special message that I wanted to type. The best part of it all was that my sister got her flowers right before the end of her shift . She works at a hospital. Do yourself and the recipient of your flowers a favor and order all of your arrangements elsewhere!! I ordered the $250 bouquet of 2 dozen long stemmed roses as shown on their website. The picture of what I ordered is below. The second picture is what they actually delivered. I was shocked and frankly embarrassed. If this place had any pride in their work that arrangement never would have left their shop. To compound the issue, they were flippant regarding the matter and showed zero interest in making it right. Their lack of pride in the quality of their work extends to their customer service and the experience they provide. When I got the picture of what they delivered I called the shop immediately and (very kindly and respectfully) expressed my unhappiness. They asked me to send them a picture, which I did. I sent them a picture of what I ordered and what they provided. I said this looks NOTHING like what I ordered! I explained that I honestly wouldn't have paid $20 for this at a gas station much less $250 from a florist. When the lady on the phone seen the picture, she apologized repeatedly and agreed that it shouldn't have happened. Unfortunately she couldn't do anything about it until speaking with the owner. 3 days later I get a call from the same lady and again they weren't at all interested in taking ownership of the problem. The owner was adamant that he would only offer a 40% refund, or a full refund but only if I allow them to go to the woman's house that I sent flowers to and give them back. Can you imagine!?! They also offered to send another bouquet and I obviously declined. You get ONE opportunity to send a woman flowers for the first time. I'm not about to inconvenience the woman or involve her in any of this. The only right thing for Hubbard's to do in this situation is express actual remorse, take ownership and refund me. Nope, they didn't do any of those things. I respectfully expressed my displeasure but they didn't care. The owner refused to even call me back. Trust me, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. On Mother's Day we ordered flowers to be delivered on Friday -- we got excuse after excuse on Friday and ultimately no delivery. The flowers arrived late the next morning. I gulped at the sad shape this arrangement was in -- some of the flowers were dying. How the old gent could even walk to our door and hand them to us is beyond my scope of human understanding. The people were nice enough, but the coffin spray for my mom's funeral did not last that long. They looked OK the day they were delivered for the wake, but the hydrangea did not stay nice for the funeral the next day, assuming they did not get water. Because I did not have a photo of the dead flowers, the florist would not acknowledge this. Disappointing. Who takes pictures of coffins at a funeral?? read more

Terrible service.. They brought the flowers to my Mother's service late and it was a last minute run around to get everything in order. There was enough notice to where there shouldn't have been an issue. I would not recommend this company to anyone. We went in to order flowers for our mother's celebration of life service. The customer service was ok but we pretty much were left to ourselves to figure out and decide what we wanted. We requested to have yellow roses, white lilies, and some tall sky blue flowers in the back part of the arrangement. They offered to let us pick up the arrangement at 8:30am due to the service time/travel etc. This was not a cheap arrangement to purchase by any means. When my brother picked up the arrangement, it was by far not what we purchased or had hoped to receive. They wound up going to Price Chopper and had to purchase an additional $30+ in additional roses and lilies to add to the arrangement to make it look presentable/close to what we had wanted to have there at our mother's funeral. Thankfully we had someone who was able to add in the flowers and redo what we were given. I hope going forward they will look at the arrangements they put out as ones they would want at an event for their family, and take pride in that, not what we were given. On the request of a local friend, I used Hubbard for a family members death. First thing off, no sympathy was expressed. Sad. As this was a sister in law and aunt, I wanted a big arrangement but they wanted over $300. I just had another aunt pass and spent $150 in another town for a huge arrangement. So I spent $150 and got an arrangement in a vase. IMG_9196.jpg. I'm not happy. I asked them to implement something blue as that was her favorite color, nothing. Not even the vase. It was like they didn't care bc they knew I wasn't going to be there!! Wanted ribbons stating sister in-law and aunt, not displayed!! I also asked the florist to send me a picture of my arrangement, they could not do that. They do not know how. Is this Bristol, Ct?? I had to have my friend do it for me. All the floral arrangements on their website are Teleflora at, not their arrangements. So you don't get to see their work. So from what I hear they've been doing this for years. Hiubbard Florist came highly recommended from the Funeral Home and personal friends. I was extremely reluctant because I wanted the very best for my mother in laws funeral.. I recently attended a funeral i and was very sad to see the casket spray let's just say disappointing. The flowers were .almost dead. . I called the florist to place an order for casket flowers and they happily took my order and all my desired details for the service. At the very end of the conversation, the florist said to me "NO CHARGE". I was shocked! He said you and your family have experienced enough grief and we would like to do this service for you and your family for FREE!. What a great group of people!! This place is and has always been a top-notch local florist. My family, friends, and I have been using this Bristol staple for all of our floral needs for years. Weddings, Proms, Funerals, Formal Events, Mothers Day, Birthdays, you name it! Come to think of it, these guys have probably been to more of my family events than I have! I have never been dissatisfied with my service here, nor have I ever heard of anyone ever being dissatisfied. The folks here always go above and beyond with floral arrangements and their customer service.
