The store has a lot of Thousand Skies merch (of course), but also a lot of other artists' work. Very similar to what you'll see at some SJmade fairs, you'll see a lot of prints, charms, caps, plushies, washi tape, and more. I could probably spend just as long in the store as I would at SJmade. When I was shopping there (5/17/26), Thousand Skies had a free reusable bag for any purchase of $50 or more on their merch. Not sure how long they will keep this promotion, so hurry and make your visit if this is something you'd like!

The Los Gatos location opened back up in 2023, but I just found out about it. Stopped in today and they still have the best stuff. I saw so many things I wanted to buy, but decided to think about it a little more before I do. On my list is a retro kitchen clock that looks like the one from my childhood, cutting board with a built in lemon zester and knife sharpener, rechargeable lantern in a cherry blossom pattern, air fryer cookbook, onion saver, and a melamine bowl with a cute design on it. It shares the same building with the Mitsuwa Market, so, of course, the shop is much smaller than the other ones out there, making it a bit more cramped. With this in mind, the books, stationery, gifts, and other goods here aren't as impressive as say a standalone Kinokuniya (common sense) or the ones that are located in malls. Or maybe I'm just spoiled by the options that I have in SoCal. It's not bad when you're in the area, but if you're a tourist and want a more comprehensive Kino experience, I would say your best bet is the Japantown SF location. However, it's still nice to stop by and see what cute stuff that they have.

Anyone walking by has total access to them, which is a major food safety and tampering hazard. When I walked in with my water (which I medically need on hand for my medication) an employee aggressively bee-lined right toward me to demand I put it on the sketchy cart. When I explained I had a health requirement, she backed off, but the whole encounter was unpleasant. Management really needs to rethink leaving open customer drinks unattended in a public area, and staff should be trained on how to handle guests with medical needs respectfully instead of immediately cornering them. I wanted to purchase some earrings today, but because of the uncomfortable experience, I wanted to get out of there in a hurry. They lost a sale today.

GO HERE…read more There's lots of Pingu, Chiikawa, Calico Critters (Sylvanian Families for the purists out there), Miffy, Sanrio, and other goods that aren't easily found in other shops, at least in person. I'd even say that some of these items are hard to find even at anime conventions. It's not the same blind boxes and gacha goods that you see everywhere (but they definitely have that too). It's a shop, not a cafe, but it's located in the back of a take out Japanese restaurant, so if you want onigiri or taiyaki or a bento, you can definitely grab that to go as well. So after making a turn inside, the food becomes cute goods. They have a wide variety of items and it CAN get very crowded in there since it's literally a U shaped walkway with stacked up cute goods. Lots and lots of keychain plushies and blind boxes, some of them are only available through Miniso overseas and haven't been released in the Miniso over here. Prices can be steep for some items, seeing that they are more "rare" and now we have to deal with the implications of tariffs and literally the rising cost of everything. The Chiikawa pudding lamp was around $50 and the loooong lolita Hello Kitty plush keychains were $30, if that gives you any idea. But I was able to find some items under $5 that made for great gifts to bring back (not a lot but it did exist). For the Calico Critters, if you factor in the availability of some of the sets and subtract out the shipping, it's a pretty good deal. I haven't seen the otter family before and with shipping it was at least $8 cheaper than what it would have been online if I had purchased it (also not available on the US Calico Critters page). So definitely have your phone ready to look up prices. Follow their IG if you want to see an update on the stock of items that they have too.
