I was given tickets to see a show here, so I was extremely excited to check out this performance hall. Parking is a breeze, there's a parking garage next to the hall, so it's easy access. Before the show, they have a few bars where you can enjoy a drink or 2 and just lounge around. The peformance hall was beautiful inside. They have several ushers that will show you where to go for your seats. This is where it got confusing. None of the ushers seemed to know where the seats were, and it took us the 5th time to get to our seats. They kept pointing us into the wrong direction, that was annoying. Once we were seated, I was amazed at how the place was set up. We were seated in the upper balcony, but the sound system is perfect. Every seat in that place is a good seat, so you can see everything. I recommend coming to watch a show at this hall. read more

Love this venue. The place is absolutely immaculate. It's is well maintained and clean. The shows they having are great. The acoustics of this hall are amazing. There literally isn't a bad seat in the house. The seats on the second floor are a bit cozy but the views are never obstructed. If you can try to sit on the ground floor and take a moment and look up at the ceiling. It's absolutely beautiful. The staff here also makes this place great. They are very helpful and go out of their way to ensure you are having a good time. There is always an armed security guard at every entrance so I definitely feels safe here. They have their own parking lot, but unlike Dallas parking is never a problem here. There are several parking structures within 2 blocks of this place and most offer free parking after 6pm and weekends. We liked this place so much we became season ticket holders. Don't hesitate. Just come to this place. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have been to many venues for Broadway Touring shows and other theatre entertainment across the country, and Bass Hall rates right at the top. Sight lines are all excellent, the acoustics have been very good for all the shows I have attended, seats are comfortable, public areas are always very clean and bright, and communication from them is excellent for our membership's levels. A couple other items that are often overlooked are also areas where Bass hall stands out. Those are such things as number of restrooms, number and speed of service at bars and overall temperature levels in the theatre. I do find the overall layout and number of staircases to get to some ticket levels a bit confusing, but that is minor. Parking is also very convenient and plentiful within a block, and being just off of Sundance Square means plenty of pre or post show dining options. If you are considering seeing a show but are hesitant about navigating downtown, I encourage you to do so because Bass Hall makes it all very easy and enjoyable. read more

My family and I really enjoy Bass Hall. It's a great venue to see top-level shows and the services are always first-rate. We've been season ticket holders for the Broadway series for two years now, and the service we get with ticketing and patron services is always everything we could want. Our tickets are on Sunday, so traffic is easy and parking next store is free. A quick bite before at Salata or a short walk for dinner or drinks to any of several places around Sundance Square afterward, make it enjoyable every time we go. read more

Let's not mince words on one particular point: this is an extraordinary place to see a show, from the phenomenal acoustics of the room to its throwback aesthetic, and the reputation of the Bass Performance Hall is such that it's not unlikely that if you catch a show here -- any show on the schedule -- that you'll find folks dressing to the perceived reputation of the event to some extent, but certainly to the import of the room. That tells you something right there. A trip to the Bass is a special occasion. And maybe there's a bit of the equation that's predicated on the notion that Fort Worth has a long and lustrous lineage of high art, that the locals are totally down for scraping the confines of their wallets in favor of attending a transcendent evening. Maybe that's an inherent truth. But on an evening like this one, there seemed to be much more at play, which I suppose is my longwinded way of suggesting that they book well: the calendar here is full of vigor and quite a bit of creativity, and I get the impression based on the pre-show introduction from the venue tonight that they're as charged to see what transpires as the rest of us. That tells me that these evenings are (at least to some extent) elements of passion, that drive to share something greater for the common collective. Then again, who knows, maybe they just like accomplished entertainment. I'm pulling a star for the oddest of reasons, namely, that a full house on a November night brought sweltering temps inside. I don't know if they just didn't turn up the A/C to accomodate for the extra body count, or if this is the opposite of the frigid temps in Letterman's studio, where they tell the audience beforehand that they do that to 'keep the comedy fresh.' Comedy or drama, there's a ton they do well at the Bass Performance Hall. And the prudent will get by there to see it. read more

What a great place to see a Broadway show, a concert or a comedy show. We have seen all the above here plus magic show. The venue is one of the best around with great seating you can not go wrong with the orchestra seating plenty of leg room. The box seating is very good. The mezzanine is a little high and further back but not bad. We have had seats on the the very top balcony once. And that is a little to far the sound is still good but the people are a little to small. So it is hard or impossible to see the faces of the performers. But the price is cheaper up top. And if that is a concern sit in the balcony still better then nothing. Parking is no problem and free. read more

This hall is beautiful, I havent actually seen a show here, but I have looked at the theatre. There are two huge hornblowing angels on the facade of the building that seem to suck you in even closer. Come to think of it, those angels are kinda creepy looking so they certainly make an impression. The inside of the theatre is beautifully detailed. I have been to Bass Hall for numerous performances. Never have I been disappointed. The venue is excellent and over the years the facilities have been kept up and improved. The staff (mostly volunteers) are well trained, extremely courteous and helpful. The seating charts on the website is really nice showing the patron what the 'look' will be from that seat. Plus, the intermission refreshments are very fairly priced. Plus,with the Ball Hall 'special' cup, one can continue to enjoy a beverage inside the theater. Don't forget the free parking. Sometimes going to the theater gives me a migraine. I mean, you're dealing with downtown parking, long lines, people who don't know where their going, ushers who have no clue...Ugh, I could on and on and on.... However, I can only use one word to describe Bass Hall....B-E-A-UTIFUL! Especially at night. All lit up and such a gorgeous building. Totally blew me away (and I don't say that often). The Italian marble floors are hand-cut and the ceiling is hand painted. Absolutely amazing work! Literally a halo surrounded this place in an sweet orange glow...like only from the heavens...ha. Hardly any congestion going into the theater. The ushers at the door are quiet lovely and the guy selling cocktails, was also quite lovely if I may add. We went to see Fiddler on the Roof (with Harvey Feinstein...um, amazeballs). The sound was great and our seats couldn't have been better (unless we were in the front row of course). The only con was that the seats are a tad small, felt a little contained. When the show was over, we were out in about 5 minutes. The many exits and helpful ushers made this a painless experience. FTW has a thriving downtown and Bass Hall fits perfectly into this art haven. I foresee many more nights here in my future. Lovely. read more

My first magical experience was here for the Nut Cracker almost 7 years ago! I sat in the middle of the orchestra section and there was an actual orchestra playing the music. I don't want to ruin anything, so I'll just say It was magical :). Due to the whole recession going on, they didn't have live music anymore. But I heard this year, they were bringing the orchestra back. I've seen other ballets there and have never been disappointed, even from sitting in the nice seats to the cheap box seats. Edit: I found one area of crappy seats. They are normally the cheapest though. It's the box tier U and A row. You can only see half the stage because of peoples heads and the pillars. read more

This is a very nice Performance Hall in Fort Worth. I came here for a Broadway show. I had no problems finding a parking spot as there is a parking garage right next to the hall. The interior of the hall is very nice. Well kept and maintained. I was surprise they had a few bars and lounge areas to relax before show. What was really annoying was as we were trying to find our seats; the ushers we dealt with kept sending us to the wrong section. Finally after the fifth time we were taken to the right section. The set up for the show was really nice. The sound quality was awesome. I can't wait to check out other shows here! read more

I just went back here Saturday night after a long absence & this place is as breathtaking as it was the first time I attended a performance here. The first time I went there I had front row seats to Rent & this factor can certainly serve to enhance the intimacy between the performers and the audience. Still, I dont feel any of that intimacy was lost by being up in the mezzanine for Saturday night's Lucia di Lammermoor production. The sound is so clear & the pitch near perfection that its almost as if you were in the orchestra pit. I think the ushers deserve a special shout out for being so sweet & wise in the executing of their duties. I am really looking forward to the Dallas Opera House finally opening up in 2009 but in the meantime its nice to know Bass Hall is available for a lovely evening at the theatre. Bass Hall's proximity to Sundance Square also makes this an ideal location to have an all night out on the town if you ever decide to drive down to Fort Worth. read more

I recently went to see the symphony play during a showing of the Empire Strikes Back at Bass Hall. The symphony was exquisite and the movie was as good as we all remember it. As for Bass Hall itself, I do not think we will return. We had driven over an hour to Fort Worth and were almost entirely disappointed with how the experience at this venue ended up. We were sitting in the mezzanine and it was very hot. The temperature probably normalized toward the end of the movie. We were sitting in general seating and that was a miserable experience. I felt like I was in an airplane. Tiny seats, seemingly 12 inches across, shoulder to shoulder Shoved in there like cattle. It should be noted that I am 5'11" and about 175 pounds. These seats were tight for someone my size. Also, there was a four year-old sitting in front of us with her parents talking literally the entire time as if they were sitting in their living room. There was also a lady about three rows back who arrived with about six others and as soon as the movie started she opened up her purse and pulled out multiple bags of chips, which they all noisily opened and crunched through for the first 20 minutes. I bring these two disturbances up because the attendant either wasn't there or didn't care because they did nothing at all to address these issues. At intermission several folks spoke with an attendant in the hall, who I don't think was our actual attendant, and she came in and put a stop to it all, but of course the first half of our experience was already basically ruined. When you pay hundreds of dollars for seats, you don't want to sit there in the heat, in a tiny little chair, with noise going on around you as if you are sitting in a movie theater or in someone's living room. This is not the experience you pay hundreds of dollars for. We were thoroughly disappointed and as I said we will likely not return. read more

Came here to see the opera JFK. This was my first visit ever. The facility is incredible and absolutely beautiful from top to bottom. The staff and service was world class. I felt like royalty. The ushers were all very friendly and helpful. One of them even allowed us to move down a few rows from our last row seats for the performance as there were several empty seats. Be sure to go up to the mezzanine level in order to take pictures of the angels on the balconys. It also has a nice little view of Sundance Square. The cocktails were good and fairly priced. The security and police presence was also very good. We felt very safe and secure here. The restrooms are also immaculate. The opera itself was great as well. I have no complaints whatsoever about this facility and will definitely come back to see more shows here. read more

On August 12th 2023, I had family visiting from out of the country. We decided so see downtown Fort Worth, I saw the Bass Hall on the corner and there was a show just ended, I got excited because frozen had just ended. I told my family let's go in and see when the next show is to buy tickets. It is 104 degrees outside so I told my family to wait inside the lobby while I get information on the 7:30 show. When I got back my family was outside in the heat. I asked what happened and they told me a bald security guard standing by the steps on the west end of the entrance asked what they were doing there, they don't speak good English so the security guard rudely asked them to leave . My family felt discriminated against because it was dominantly Caucasian people in the crowd because my family was of color they were asked to leave out into the heat . I have never felt discriminated against in Fort Worth until now. read more

Attended opening night for Love Never Dies. The staff are extremely helpful and there are plenty of them to help you find your seat. The acoustics inside were phenomenal. Hopefully they will move into e-ticketing in the near future as printing tickets isn't something I'm used to doing these days. If you want to bring your drink back to your seat you have to purchase the more expensive "souvenir" cup, this seems a little ridiculous and will hopefully be phased out. read more

We have been season ticket holders for several years. Recently we made several attempts to contact the box office with no return calls. My partner recently had a stroke and I wanted to know if our orchestra seats would be easy to get to using his Walker and the elevator. Well it was a nightmare. Our seats are on the east side and you have to use bothe elevators and cross the whole downstairs and then cross the orchestra from one side to the other..... not a very pleasant experience. read more

Came to see a performance of Cats. I bought the tickets in July. Checked Covid regulations last month and saw that no matter what your vaccination status you had to wear a mask. Arrived tonight and was told that I had to have an Id and vax papers OR go across the street and get a $65 Covid test. Papers were at home and I probably won't be back. read more

Very few places live up to my expectations. I rarely gasp when I see a building at night, or walk into a room and feel a tad under-dressed. Okay, I'm talking about North Texas y'all, not like Florence or Paris or Amsterdam. So I was in downtown Fort Worth, going to see the Nutcracker, minding my own business....when I might have gotten some goosebumps by this surprisingly beautiful building. White marble. Carved angels heralding outside on the walls. Grandiose staircase. Gleaming black and white powder rooms (yeah, this place deserves to have them called that) with musical notes on the bathroom stalls. Musical notes! The performance hall itself is pink and gold and delightful. I saw an old couple there dressed to the nines and I had to hold myself back from stealing them and putting them in my purse. We're talking white fox stole, family jewels, and a tortoiseshell cane. Just pure class. Oh, don't get there late...their late seating policy is excruciating. I was five minutes late to The Nutcracker and wasn't seated until AFTER intermission. Yup, I missed the Godfather and the presents and the Seven-Headed Rat. And I STILL had a good time. Acoustics are good, too. Take your classy grandmother to see a show here. read more

I love this venue, it's beautiful, the sound is great. And even the seats as high as the mezzo level are great. They keep the events organized well and it doesn't take long to get in and out of a show. Parking could be a little difficult in Sundance Square if you want to park free, but there is plenty of paid parking available and within 1 to 2 blocks walking distance. Limited bar is available and they also offer pretzels and chips. I can't say anymore good things about this place. Ok, bathrooms were clean. I'm done. read more

I was fortunate enough to get to see the Ft Worth Symphony Orchestra perform with Bernadette Peters. Putting aside how amazing that concert was and how beautiful the symphony is, this is a wonderful venue. The building itself is classic, including tiered seating and a beautiful mural atop the concert hall. We had excellent seats, but the friend I attended with tells me that she's been to tons of performances here and there's really not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics were amazing: I was shocked when the crowd sang the Star Spangled Banner and even that sounded like some kind of choir. Wow. Also impressive is that they actually offer free parking like a block away. Living in downtown Dallas it's a bit of a trek for me, but definitely one worth making. read more

Symphony experience was lovely, but I do suggest not getting tickets for seating in the mezzanine. We were crammed in sideways, so it was awfully uncomfortable. Even with that, the performance was enjoyable. The 15 minute intermission is just long enough to stop by the bar for a cocktail and the prepay option is nice. You can buy drinks before the show and they'll set them on a ticket with your name written on it, so it's waiting on the bar at intermission. No waiting in line! Parking is a breeze as well since there are multiple garages nearby and valet. The website is a bit vague on suggested attire. Definitely dress up! I wore a cocktail dress and handsome hubby was in suit and tie. read more

About six months ago, my husband too me to see Les Miserable at Bass Hall. As always, (because who doesn't LOVE Les Mis?), it was FABULOUS! We had balcony seats on stage left, first tier. I always love the balcony and it didn't disappoint. Saturday night, last week-end, we went to see the Opera, Daughter of the Regiment and we sat on the floor, stage right, second row. We could see the sweat on the singers faces and we could hear their voice live, with no amplification. A totally amazing experience again with a new perspective. We could see into the orchestra pit as well so we had even more to watch and experience. This building is just amazing, without even seeing a production in the hall but to hear music played in it is just incredible. We have seen other productions and have sat in other seats scattered around. I can't say that any seat we have had has been less than marvelous. If you haven't yet taken in a show at the Bass Performance Hall, you need to. Add it to your bucket list. It never disappoints! *on my comment YES for kids: I would ONLY bring children to a performance set up for them...like a matinee performance. Certainly NOT a place for infants but a child old enough to sit still and enjoy a show would certainly love it! We have done a dress rehearsal performance with children and made a fun day of it. The only thing that sucks about this gorgeous performance hall is that it's located in Fort Worth... Seriously. Everything else is awesome. I've been here a few times now to see various shows at various times (Matinees, etc) and each experience has been amazing. Fort Worth and I don't get along all that well (though we're actually on speaking terms unlike Grapevine and I...), but I've always managed to find my way in and out of the Sundance Square area, even before I was given a GPS as a not-so-subtle-hint about my directional abilities. Granted, I had 3 different versions of Google maps printed out... but I still got here. When my friend and I came to see an evening show one weekend, we actually got to Sundance around matinee time. We easily parked in a garage, walked around the square, had lunch, visited Earth Bones (there used to be a location of Earth Bones in Snider Plaza in Dallas and I missed it so!), then went to a different restaurant for dessert before the show. Overall, it was an incredibly nice day! The show itself was amazing. We had comped seats (thanks, relative in the biz!), and they were great. I've only sat in the Orchestra section here at the Bass, but it's been phenomenal every time-- even if the price tag was a little bit steep for a few shows. It's worth it. The hall itself is gorgeous, and the lobby is also surprisingly nice. After the show was over, it was really really easy to go around to the side of the building and wait at the stage door for the cast to come outside for autographs. That is one thing that I truly love about performance halls located right in the city like this one- the stage doors are accessible and easy to find! If you go to a place like Verizon there's not really a stage door in sight, so you can't even pretend to TRY to get autographs after the show's over. Everything's all fenced off around back... Yes, I looked the last time I was there. Of course, if autographs are allowed is completely up to whoever is performing/etc. I think all of the cast members of the musical we saw were more than happy to come out and sign autographs. Getting our car and leaving was also quite easy, which isn't always the case. Overall, I really do love the Bass. Treat yourself to some good seats when a show/opera/even comedian you like comes through town. I highly recommend it! read more

We saw TX Ballet Theater's Giselle ballet here last weekend & it was fabulous! We had nosebleed seats but still had great visibility (use of a small pair of binoculars helped a bit). We had enough legroom & the seats were pretty comfortable. It didn't feel like we were going to fall off the edge of the aisle while walking to & from our seats. The only minor issues were that the bar ran out of snacks pretty quickly during intermission & the ladies' room on our level was too small. It's great that the parking is free & there is a police presence after the performance. read more

YES, WE MET BOB NEWHART!!!! We risked life and limb to complete our journey from Dallas to Ft. Worth for this show. Many didn't even risk local travel and so we were moved from balcony to 6th row floor. The accommodations are nice here. The acoustics were very good. (of course we were 6 rows from the stage!). The personnel were all very nice, and as we were leaving they re-opened the doors for Mr. Newhart to invite my husband, myself, and two other gentlemen into the backstage area. Bass hall offers a nice variety of symphonic concerts, ballets, and other artistic events. The building is gorgeous; it's fun to wander around and explore. Drinks are pricy as expected for this type of venue. You can pre-order drinks for intermission before the show to avoid waiting in long lines. There are also cups available for purchase that can go into the theater. Be carful though; sometimes these are not allowed for various reasons. The staff are usually well informed and helpful in these situations. Parking is easy with a garage right off Calhoun street, which is free on the weekends. Bass hall's location is great for a night out in downtown Fort Worth. It's proximity to restaurants is perfect to grab a bite/drinks before or after a show. read more

This place is such an amazing venue and I have yet to witness any terrible performances here. The farthest away I've seated from the stage has been in the Mezzanine and you still get a great view of the stage. The acoustics are well done, so the sound has been great! If you are going to watch any performance in Fort Worth, this is venue to go to. There is plenty to do in the area and lots of free parking. I recommend parking at the garage on Taylor and 3rd, grabbing sushi at Piranha before a later show (7pm/8pm) and taking a nice walk through Sundance Square to the Bass to get the full downtown Fort Worth effect. I grew up in Fort Worth, and the downtown area has changed so much (for the better!!) in recent years. The attendants who take your tickets are really sweet and all make sure to tell you how to get to the balcony so you can have full view of the angels that adorn the architecture of the Bass Performance Hall. It's a neat thing to do, especially if you have kids, at least on one of your visits. read more
