As a child growing up in Dallas,I remember TV and radio ads routinely for Casa Manana Playhouse. After decades,I decided it was way passed time to check it out! Wow! Have I been missing out! We took in Hairspray yesterday and were blown away by the quality of the production. From the actors to the lighting,live music accompanyment, to the comfortable chairs and acoustics- fantastic. It's great. At least I should say used to be a site to behold... You can't see it as a theater in the round anymore because I forgot that they redid it and when they did, they took away the theater poo poo. Still a cool place.

We hadn't seen Shucked before and I knew it'd be the funny light hearted silly type of humor we'd enjoy together since we love laughing. We had a great time. My son wasn't originally planning on attending but his flight was delayed by 9 hours, and the box office provided exceptional service when I needed another ticket upon arrival. While the production runs are pretty short it's so special to have the opportunity to catch the touring shows. We valeted the car and pre ordered ice-cream for intermission. If you live nearby this is a no brainer and even from a good drive over I'm still considering several other shows. The performance hall is very lovely, plush seats, lots of nice options for snacks and drinks. Bring a sweater because it can get a little chilly but perfect escape for whatever weather TX is throwing at you. Every individual from valet, to box office, ushers and more provided such great service. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to returning and making more of a day of it while in the Fort Worth area.

The atmosphere was perfect for an afternoon performance, and it was nice that drinks were available. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. We were excited to see the show despite some of the bad reviews and it was a good experience. Sure, it's not a Hollywood or Las Vegas production, and yes, the concessions are overpriced, but young kids don't know that, and all the kids we saw including ours were cheering and hollering and loving it. So, if you go for the heck of it and want to try something different that kids will enjoy, then do it. Just know that as an adult it might not blow your socks off. A few critical notes: - The audio equipment echoes and isn't powerful enough to be clear to understand. It can make the show confusing. - The action can be loud, overwhelmingly loud at times, so please consider that if you have kids who are sensitive to that. There is gun play and cracking whips. - The concessions area was cash-only the day we went but there's an ATM nearby. The food was mediocre so I'd stick to drinks and wait the hour until you're back outside. Overall it was unique and I'm confident kids will enjoy it.
