I am not an outdoorsy kind of gal, so this place was not on the top of list of places to visit. We went there on a rainy day with some family who were in town visiting. I can see the appeal of this place for those who are into hunting and fishing. They have a lot of merchandise and what appeared to be some great sales. We went there for more of a tourist attraction. The place was pretty much empty on a Tuesday afternoon so it felt like we had it all to ourselves. We played the shooting game a couple of times and walked around and looked at all the displays. I love going to Bass Pro Shop they got everything I need well sorta. I walked in and picked up a sales ad. They had a gun on sale that I wanted to purchase. So I go back to the guns. And ask the salesman I wanted to buy one of the Ruger predators that was on sale. He said they had no guns in stock. He never offered to order me one. He made a few phone phone calls and they in town had one in stock. So I left the store I made one phone call to a gun shop nearby. And they had one in stock. I got it for $20 cheaper than what the sales ad was. So I will not be back to Bass Pro Shop to buy a gun ever again. I was very dissatisfied with the way he treated me and acted towards me. read more

All I can say is fun fun fun. We spent hours in here just playing around with all the stuffed animals and fish in the aquarium. They have a restaurant, and a place that make amazing fudge. If you have a few hours to kill and just want to go check out some place fun and cool this is the place. read more

This is a great BPS and I have spent a little time in a few. Great place to blow a few hours and several dollars with my mini-me. In addition to the usual fish tank, this BPS has a little pond complete with ducks paddling along. There is a sitdown restaurant and a great little lounge area overlooking the water, not to mention the laser shooting range it was a little slice of hillbilly heaven. read more

The store is gorgeous, lots of interesting taxidermy, cool fish tank, etc. The variety is good. I think prices are on the high side. Most everything here can be had elsewhere for considerably less money. You're probably paying for the cool venue to some extent. I hate the pushy travel package salespeople downstairs. BP is probably a love hate for me. I like it on one hand but some things are less positive. Get rid of the timeshare sellers and lower prices by 15% and I'm a fan. read more

Where do I start. They have pretty much anything you want as far as outdoor needs go. The employees are very friendly and helpful. They also have an abundant selection of "adult" drink mixes for your pallet needs. I live right by the place so I am able to fish the lake they have pretty frequently. Let me tell ya, it is a great spot to fish as well! You can go in, buy your poles, reels, lures, licenses, boots, etc....then go try it all out in their well stocked lake. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best), I give the overall rating of the lake an 8. The lake was stocked about 2 years ago but there's some decent size fish. The only set back is, trash. I know it's hard to keep it completely clean but some areas are pretty rough. I highly recommend giving it a shot. read more

Stopped at Bass Pro to get my Duck Dynasty shirt. Huge selection of outdoor gear and equipment. Large boat and ATV selection. Prices are slightly high. Bought some BBQ sauce and rub and found the same product for almost half the price. I love the indoor fishing tank stocked with local fish. There is a man-made lake right outside with a walkway and viewing spots. There are two places to grab a bite inside. A must try is the fudge shop. read more

I'm guessing everybody knows what Bass Pro shops is already. This is their new store in Independence MO. Inside, its nice to look at the various stuffed animals and pelts they have hanging around. Outside, you have a big pond with a few geese and waterfalls to look at. In the lower level, they have ducks, a fish pond, and an aquarium. As for buying things, unless there's something you must have which nobody else sells, you'd be better to buy elsewhere as the prices are higher here. However, Bass Pro shops sell a lot of things other places don't. At the very least, worth the visit. read more

(This was to be under Bass Pro Independence Mo - that is who I chose to review and I was placed under Sunglass HUT??) The customer service in this location is less than desirable. I live 3 hours away and made arrangements to meet a dog breeder who lives 2 hours away in the parking lot of the store to pick up my new puppy. As we were right there and had another 3 hour drive home we decided to go in and make a needed purchase. I know dogs are allowed in the stores as I've seen them in every Bass Pro and I've been in many stores in the country. We were in the store for a good 40 minutes. I walked through the entire store carrying my new 7 week old puppy. Many store employees approached to see the puppy and love on him. Not one person said anything about my puppy not having a leash. He was in my arms. As we were in the check out another employee approaches me and gets within inches of my face. I assumed she too was going to visit with the puppy. Due to the fact she RIGHT IN MY FACE. I almost crossed my eyes just trying to focus on her. She identified herself as a manager and said loudly, "I'd like to inform you that we have a leash rule in the store. In the future you must have your dog on a leash" She was rude, loud and embarrassed me. I explained the situation to her and let her know I never shop with my dogs but since I was there we came in and HE IS A 7 WEEK OLD PUPPY THAT WAS IN MY ARMS THE ENTIRE TIME. I also told her there would be no future in this location. WHAT DOES SHE THINK A LEASH IS GOING TO DO AT THIS POINT. HE WAS SCARED AS HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ME YET, HAD HIS HEAD BURIED IN MY CHEST AND IS 12 POUNDS... AND WAS IN MY ARMS... NOT ON THE FLOOR NOR IN A CART. Doesn't sound like she understands or knows pets nor customer service nor is she very bright. If we hadn't just concluded our sale I would have left our items on the counter and left without giving this store my money. I agree with the leash rule but in this case she needed to use some common sense and she needs to be respectful to Bas Pros clients. I could understand her actions if this were a dog on the floor and I was being a difficult client. I will never go back. This is the second bad experience I have had in a Bass Pro and I will not go back to the other location either. Simply due to the fact that the other location had a rather rude cashier. I manager several clinics and tell my front line coworkers that customers will always make the assumption that what is at the bottom trickles from the top. Sounds more and more to me like Bass Pro doesn't put customer service in the forefront. That's fine... I'll use my hard earned money else where and give to those who appreciate it. Independence Mo store. Worst customer service cashier rolled eyes when asked if price was correct there where no tags where merchandise was shelved but was a tag on top of shelf the cashier ignored when asked again rolled eyes. We of corse said forget it. It explained while the Customer before just said never mind and left merchandise on counter. I go to this Bass Pro location for all my outdoor needs. The thing that I am impressed with the most is the staff here. Over the last 5 years I have purchased a handgun, rifle, bow, fishing poles, boots, and many other misc. Each department has such good people that know what they are talking about. They never try to push certain products or 'sell' you anything. I recently talked to Anthony in the hunting department. This guy really knows his stuff and is a pleasure to talk hunting with. Could I maybe save a few dollars somewhere else? Probably, but the staff and knowledge they have and pure enjoyment they have for their job is priceless. I'll continue to go there for my outdoor needs and look forward to working with the staff in all departments. read more

Big surprise when you walk into this store. There's a huge tank/water stream towards the middle/back of the store with huge fish in it. There's also a neat "back porch" area where you can watch wild life on the pond and test out some binoculars. The staff are friendly and do a good job of answering questions. It's an out of the way drive for me otherwise I would go there more often. read more

Cool store like to look around. Has spectacular decor. Store sells a wide variety of cloths and outdoor at be a little high priced but not to bad. The reason I rated it at 2 stars was down stairs they have the time share sales personal that harass you. I don't understand why bass pro would want this in there store. Today I told the timeshare sales person no thank you many times and he kept following us forcing you to be rude to him and ask him to please leave us alone. read more
