This place has everything you need for outdoor adventure, sports, clothing and accessories. Even lots of presents for kids for the holidays. However, the customer service is poor and no one seemed happy today or welcoming at all while we were there. I waited 45 minutes with my son in the gun section waiting for someone to even slightly acknowledge us. Two men were working the entire department and were certainly overwhelmed, but to not even look up and say "we'll be right with you...?" After waiting 2 and a half hours they finally figure out my gun is sitting in the back, with my order number and my serial number and someone has written the wrong name on the gun box. Completely understand that mistakes happen but come on, it shouldn't be that hard. They should have a better system in place.. after all we're dealing with FIREARMS. It should be a little bit more than a sticky note system. Thank goodness for Robby there to straighten it out, he figured it out for me and sent me home with my new rifle. Went in at 9:30, 5/7/2021 to buy a Tracker 800SV. The store was almost empty of customers. When I went to where the vehicles are located, there was a man in that department who was on the phone. Two other workers were moving an UTV. Never was acknowledged by the salesman on the phone even though I made sure he could see me. I spent about 20 minutes looking at the vehicle I was interested in ... climbing inside, raising the bed, opening the front cover. During that time, another customer came in looking for some help. but like me, he might as well have been invisible even though the salesman looked directly at us. He seemed to get frustrated and left. I stayed for about another 5 minutes and did the same. Once I came home, I wrote to the store from their website asking for someone to please contact me so I could purchase the UTV. It's been 8 hours and not a word. read more

FFL firearm transfer fee is now outrageous. Reputable store with lots of great merchandise but their recent firearm transfer fee increase is ridiculous. I have lived in a few states and when ordering a firearm online, it must be sent to an FFL dealer (like Bass Pro or a local gun shop). If you do the research, this fee will usually be somewhere between $20 and $30 depending where you go. I made an online purchase in Jan of 2021, used Bass Pro in Savannah as my FFL, and paid $30. Their price was reasonable and I was happy. I recently made another purchase online and was going to use Bass Pro as the FFL again. Thankfully I called them with another question because I was told their firearm transfer fee was no longer $30 and was now $75. That price is crazy and far above the industry standard for firearm transfers. I told the rep that $75 for a simple transfer was ridiculous and she told me something along the lines of the increase helping offset their costs etc. etc. Implying that it had to be done or something. I wasn't buying that explanation. Moral of the story, there are plenty of local firearms dealers in the area who provide the same great FFL transfer service without gouging you on a transfer. What's the point of finding a great deal online, then adding almost $100 to your total cost, just for picking it up? read more

I visited this location as I arrived in Savannah for a long vacation. I had planned to buy a second surf setup and I received amazing customer service last year. However, when I asked for some assistance, the gentleman at the counter was rude and dismissive. He talked down to me like a child and tried to push me towards one of their floor setups instead of the rod and reel I was going to purchase. When I told him that was not what I wanted, he began to argue with me and tell me I didn't want it. Then another customer interrupted our conservation and he went to help him, like I wasn't even there. He tracked me down, and attempted to engage me on conservation again, but I was interrupted again. However, this time it was an older short employee who cut into our conservation to complain about a customer he was helping. To quote this employee, "This guy was asking me so many question, you think he wanted me to bait his hook." He just kept going, but I left and decided not to spend my money. I am just reviewing this location here so you know what to expect from this location.* Ahhhh Bass Pro Shop. This is a massive two story store. They even sell boats on the lot outside. (Beware boats are $$$$$) They sell clothes, cooking goods, food, tents, hunting stuff, fishing stuff and just about everything. Great place to get manly man gifts. This store is also where I go to get all my deep fried turkey supplies for holiday dinner parties. There are also free Santa photos here at Christmas time. My kids love to go here to look at fish and shop for outdoor equipment. Don't be afraid to go in and shop. This store isn't just for guys named Billy Bob. read more

This is based SOLELY on the Boat Service Center staff. I've not experienced any other aspect of this store. I've been to the boat service center twice now (from on the road - as a full time RV'er with a Tahoe boat.). I want to commend Andrew, the service manager, and EACH & EVERY ONE of the other staff that worked with me, and on my boat, for their integrity, competency, patience, fairness, and willingness to step up even though I did not purchase my boat at their store. I find the customer care of the service department to be a rare commodity in today's world. Certainly 100% greater than the independent dealer I purchased my boat from. read more

As we usually do when ever we're in the area, we stopped to gaze upon all of the outdoor goodies and nik-naks Bass Pro has to offer.....TO INCLUDE the shirts that were on sale, in my line of sight, that I bought two of!! They may not carry the top-o-line gear and equipment (do a little research on camping and boating stuff) but it is fun to walk around and look. I would like to express the customer service via phone I received today. I called to inquire about the Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire color in rose gold and I felt like the 2 female employee that I spoke to did NOT even try to look it up in the system to see if there was any of the watch available or if you did carry the watch at the store. I felt like they just said "no we do not have it" just to get me off the phone. I did not hear them punching the keys on the keyboard, NOTHING. I was on the phone in less than 1 minute. How can you possibly look for an item in one minute? It's a new year! They should be expecting more customer in the new year willing to spend money for new hobbies. The employees need to have better customer service training. I work with customers and I know sometimes what it likes to be annoyed with them but they have to put their big girl panties on and suck it up. They could have checked or at least "pretended" to check and said "sorry ma'am/miss we do not carry the item. All they said was Oh no we do not have it. Less than 1 minute the 1st person I spoke to relayed the message of the item I was inquiring about? she did not even write down what I was asking because I would have asked again what I was asking for. Anyways I just wanted to express the way the situation was handled. Hopefully the employees of Savannah GA would be more helpful. I went to this Bass Pro today to buy a boat and the salesman Branden quoted me a price I accepted the price and put a deposit on the boat. The salesman drew up the sales agreement I signed some paperwork and left. About an hour later he called to tell me he made a mistake and didn't charge me for a couple of things and quoted me a new price. I told him I was unsatisfied and talked to someone else named Joseph. He told me either pay the new price or get a refund. What happened to honoring the sales agreement. If I mage a mistake they would say to bad and keep my deposit. Will never be buying a boat from them again. Unhappy with the way this went down. I asked to split the difference and was told no take it or leave it. We just moved to the coast and are excited to finally have time to get into the sport of fishing. We came here to have someone help us get set up with some quality equipment- rods, reels, lures, etc. We are both educated professional people and not lacking in common sense. The salesperson however, felt compelled to try to make us feel like idiots. Every time we asked a reasonable question- "What size reel is best for the type of fishing we're interested in? What's the difference between this brand of rod and that one?"... He would first stare at us like he couldn't believe how stupid we were. Then he would laugh sarcastically and respond with a short, curt answer that didn't explain anything about whatever item he was recommending. He did this every time we asked a question. After telling him I didn't enjoy being mocked, that I was asking questions so I would make informed decisions, instead of apologizing he said, "I'm not mocking you. The way you word things is just funny." I decided to step away from situation instead of blasting him. When my husband came back over and saw me walking away mad, he asked him what he had said to make me so upset. Again, no apology. His response was, "This job is SUPPOSED to be fun!" After we got home with our new equipment ($800 worth) we realized he gave us the wrong reels. When we called about it, he said we'd have to order the reels online then drive back to the store to return the wrong ones. Again, no apology for his screwup. We won't be back. read more
