My Dad used to bring me here as an 11 year old. This golf course brings back so many memories that I had to visit it again. The course is so nice and well kept and the people who work here very friendly. Playing a public golf course on a Monday morning, I was not expecting the level of pretentiousness that I was greeted with at this course. Charging me a full greens fee and cart rate for my girlfriend to ride in a cart with me (who wasn't golfing), not allowing us to go out with our threesome because "only two carts are allowed on a hole at a time".... And to top it off they made us carry a fake set of clubs on our cart to give off the appearance to "members" that she was playing. I mean come on people. It's a Monday morning in 2025 and you're a public golf course. Get off of your high horse. I've played PGA tour and resort courses that are ten times nicer than this course and they couldn't care less if she rode in the cart and never charged us. Miserable old staff who just can't wait to enforce their "rules" on their prestigious $80 public track. I know you cape people are isolated from the rest of the world, but the country club snoot behavior is pretty much withering away (especially at public courses). This is why golf is unapproachable to outsiders (like my girlfriend) who I am trying to introduce to the sport. Because of miserable people enforcing ancient and unnecessary rules. Not playing here again until this course catches up with the times, which at this rate will likely take another 25 years. read more

Golf course was in great condition. The cart girl sat on her phone at one hole all day so you only got one opportunity to even get water during all 18 holes. The service at the restaurant was terrible. After being seated and trying to order we got waters only and no one came back to take our order for 30 minutes. We got 3 burgers and fries and a coke. We waited another hour for our food and items were strangely brought out one at a time. They forgot one order of fries and the one coke. When asked about it taking so long we were argued with that it hadn't been that long. When asked about the missing fries we were told we did not order them. Extremely rude servers. Will never go back. Going to try a different course next year for our annual gathering. I've never gotten into an argument with a server before in my life! read more

Sat. Aug 5, 2023 - 4 with Tee time 18 holes, course was in poor shape although a year with plenty of rain. The game was very slow because they had too many players overbooked a wedding party and it was not fun waiting 15min at each tee box! We called off hole 5 tee box request refund for back 9 explaining our experience. They agreed if it was not to our liking they wood. We got off and they refused because of management? Now we couldn't get back on because the wait was even longer! Not to mention the layout of the course on 3 different holes came together with all other holes ball's flying every which way! Very expensive disappointing experience with employees not understanding or offering an alternative! We won't be back. Look at condition of bathroom? The Course is one of the oldest on the Cap- interesting holes and good design. The staff is amazing- Kenny and John!!! The owner is all about money, doesn't care about her patrons. We rented 2 sets of men's clubs, 2 women's- the staff tried to tell her they all mixed up and wrong- she wouldn't listen. She has a "know it all attitude", Bottom line- would I go back? No! A very friendly welcome on a beautiful October day, and a most helpful ranger and starter. The fairways are wide, the course is mostly flat, the greens are gorgeous, and overall this was a very enjoyable golf experience for my wife and me. Not the most challenging course for very good golfers (we are average)--the tips are only about 6100--but we'd definitely return. read more

I recently played this course with a group during the month of June and the customer service was awful. We had 9 people on vacation in Yarmouth so we booked 3 consecutive tee times for 3 golfers each. The Tee times were 15 minutes apart. The poor experience began on check in when we were advised at scheduling to pay individually upon arrival and when we got the club house were not allowed to do so and the rate we were told on the phone was all of a sudden roughly $10 more per person. One person from each group had to take the full amount on their credit card which led to the next issue when one of the card numbers was written down wrong by an employee and in turn one of the people in our group was charged double without being asked, contacted on the course for 18 holes or told upon leaving. Our group was made up of roommates and family members and we decided to have 2 carts per 3 some to accommodate. Upon arrival to the course we were informed AT THE FIRST TEE that a single golfer would be added to each of our 3somes which none of us were thrilled about considering Covid-19. We were yelled at about heading to the first tee because apparently we couldn't go to the tee box with our own group due to covid but they happily added a 4th golfer without any consideration. On numerous occasions we were spoken to about playing too slow when our final tee time was at 315 pm and the group behind us teed off into us at 307. At the 9th hole turn around I stopped at the club house to ask if the restrooms were open. I was met by a snarky attitude from the starter about my request. After exiting the bathroom the starter had choice words of needing to get to the 10th tee because we were holding people up even though I had just asked him to use the restroom 2 minutes prior. After the 9th hole two members decided they no longer wished to play and the 4th golfer that was added to our group played through with out us leaving a 3some and a 2 some at the 10th tee. With this we decided to play as a group of 5 and were met again by the starter on the 11th hole who was not please with the fact that the extra golfer they assigned to our group left us to continue on and we had no choice but to play as 5 or a separate 3 and 2 some. The starter was the most unprofessional and rude human being while speaking to a group of paying customers who threatened to have us removed from the course due to "other people trying to play 18 holes" even though that was exactly what we paid for and were doing. Overall the employees are rude and the course is run poorly. The 9 of us that golfed that day vacation in Yarmouth every year and will not return to this location again. read more

Wonderful golf course right on Bass River. The course has a scenic view of Bass River. There are water features on the course, as well as heavy roughs and woods. Some holes are very short and some par 5s. A few holes have extreme hills. The greens and fairways are in imaculat condition and soooo green. There are Canadian geese on the course though. It is not usually too busy. There is a restaurant on site and small pro shop. The restaurant overlooks the river. There are practice greens and pitching sand traps for practice. There are many leagues and tournaments for all ages. It is usually not too busy. After 4 pm is half off. Reasonable prices. Carts or walking allowed. Great course, not overly difficult, but tough. read more

Played last friday, the course is poorly maintained by the town of Yarmouth. 9 holes took 3 hours to play, no rangers, staff not helpful or very friendly. This is the second time I've played this course. This is s well maintained course with beautiful views of bass river. Nice pace of play. It is a walkable course (although there are hills on the back nine) Very friendly staff. I will be back read more
