No chairs in cabin. Not enough lights throughout cabin. Kitchen extremely dark. You can not see in extra small bath room. No camp fires nor charcoal fires. 2 inside fireplaces and you can't use them. No trash dumpers anywhere around. Corners of cabin can see daylight. Mice are plenty with large hole around a/c lines. Ants everywhere We stayed three days over $500.00. No wildlife of any kind except squirrels 61.00+ plus in hotel tax's. County. City. Charge per person. Per car every day. Nothing to do no water in lakes. No fishing. Park ranger stuck ticket on windshield because I was reading the cabin and they're on there no lights at all. The bathrooms are super small is not that clean cracks through the corners of the outside you know that tree right there where we sat I think that's where they're hanging out because that's where the other one is. Stayed in the deluxe cabin with my family this weekend. Very nice hotel-like accommodations. Great location close to downtown Bastrop which worked out perfectly since the Patriotic Festival was this weekend. From the top of the hill near the entrance you had a good view of the fireworks. Since we had grilled and just started eating when the 1st fireworks began, we watched from the cabin. Aside from the highway, we could see the whole show from the side. The owners, the Kitays, are super friendly and knowledgeable. The campgrounds are well-kept and clean. There are all options of camping available. We checked out the pool and splashpad which my 5-year-old enjoyed. Highly recommend and would love to come back! read more

Had a great experience here and the owner Elizabeth was so kind, definitely a great clean and affordable place to stay if you are on your way to Austin. This campground also has a charging station for Electric Vehicles and a great place to hang out, use WiFi in a heated waiting area. A 1-Room Cabin is incredibly clean and affordable at $58 plus tax per night. Was grateful to find this KOA campground just in the nick of time. Thanks Elizabeth! read more

This KOA transformed my frustrating day into a happy day! I wasn't able to pick up my son and his very heavy kayak at Fisherman's Park because they shut the ramp down in the middle of the day. The precious staff at the Bastrop KOA allowed me access to their ramp. Now that's customer service! And I wasn't even a customer! Thank you dearly. You saved my son and me a very long hike. Love this KOA. Very close to town. Sites and park are very clean. Public area are great. Owners are fantastic. Sites are spacious. The restrooms are huge!! There is no camp store but they offer a couple if things in the office. Nearby grocery and convenient stores. Can walk to BBQ, Dairy Queen, Churches Chicken and Sonic! Picnic Tables at Sites. Really nice pool and splash pad. Playground by the river. Deluxe camping cabins with potties and kitchenettes. This is the first day of my extended stay and I am beyond happy!! Best in Bastrop by far!!!!! read more

KOA saved the day. When a different RV park couldn't/wouldn't honor the reservations, I was faced with jumping through hoops to find a new location. The very attitude of the manager I spoke with brighten my day and they were able to accommodate us and even offered the retired military discount that I didn't ask for. Two stars because there were too many surprises. Not easy to get to, it's a funky piece of property, long and narrow with a small shore on the Colorado River. Recent flooding was not their fault but could you have told us ahead of time that some of the facilities were closed? Route TX 71 East was roaring right above us and the road noise was too much. A disproportional amount of semi permanent residents at the campground gave it a standoffish (if that's a word) feel. I thought pull through sites were really pull through sites. Turns out here at Bastrop Colorado River KOA, you share a pull through with another guest so it is really a back in. That's right, your RV and or Travel Trailer is back to back (literally 3 feet) from your neighbors back end. Draw the blinds!!! Will be back to Austin but will look for another place to park the travel trailer. read more

Staff/owners is so friendly. Very accommodating to helping us get comfy with our Kabin. Very affordable price for the location. Not five stars because there was no breakfast offered in the weekend, even for a fee and no real river access, along with what other posters said regarding funky location and freeway noise. But our Kabin was stellar and smelled fresh and new, the barbecue grill and fire pit were both accessible and easy, which is not true at all Koa's. All around well kept grounds, clean restrooms, etc. read more

Nice facilities, but the Internet is almost nil. My iPhone just couldn't keep connected. I talked to the lady in the office and she was going to talk to the owner about checking the repeaters but nothing changed. At $51. a night, we'll not be back. Too bad. Just stayed here this past weekend for 4 days. Very nice park. We stated on the tree side away from the highway. Nice and lots of shade. The site backed up on to a field with a bunch of pecan trees and some cows. Every morning and evening a large herd of deer came by and fed right outside the camper. Was nice to sit and watch them. My wife even went to the Bucee's down the road and got some corn to feed them. Really drew them in. The site we were on was very shaded and level with good parking space. The only downside I have for this spot is there is a tree that is over the right side. As you are backing in this tree will scrape the side and roof of your trailer. If you are able to may be able to back more to the left but I was unable to do this due to another truck parked across the road from my spot. No one's fault here as they were legally within their parking, but I sure could have used a few more feet to cut over where the truck was. Anyway, took out my antenna. I'm sure it can be salvaged and we rarely use it as we use a satellite dish. Basically my only complaint and it's not really a complaint. The bath/shower area is very nice. Large and plenty of showers. Also seemed clean. Nice pool and splash pad. I did jump in the pool and it felt great. One other thing, the camp is on the Colorado river and I only went down there once. The area by the river seems a bit overgrown. Also there is a fishing patio type area but half of it seems over grown with weeds. I didn't care to even try to fish down there. Over all we were very pleased with this campground. The owner checked me in and she was very pleasant. Sorry I forgot her name. I'd go again. read more

This is a good KOA, that is very convenient, due to location. Yes, it is close to 71, but most commercial operations are close to 71. We found some great places to eat, HEB just a few minutes away, (HEB by the way, a grocery with everything). Front Desk was most helpful, very knowledgeable, and I feel you could ask them about anything concerning RVing. The pool area was beautiful, but weather was not in our favor. Spaces are easy to access, power and water service was good. The KOA folks were quick to help us with local information. One note to remember is the 'back' entrance is easier to use for those of You with longer, and lower rigs. There is a bit of a drop at front entrance. Just pull off to left, check in, and go around back. The nice people at KOA told me so, but I didn't listen enough. I would definitely come back, and Bastrop is a great KOA. read more

Camping in our travel trailer over the July 4th weekend. Park is very clean and staff was friendly. Swimming in their pool was allowed by reservation only due to social distancing. Extra sanitizing was done after each use. read more

We liked the location of this campground, as we were heading to Austin, TX the next day but not too impressed with this KOA. We had a good pull thru site and it was a concrete site. There was a big dip to enter the campground not good for a 40' Class A to go over. Staff was friendly. Weeds were so high, my dog had a hard time trying to go to the bathroom and we had to find the trees as the weeds weren't as high under them, had ant piles, too many, had weeds growing on top of them. Lots of sand spurs. We would have only stayed one night instead of 2, but I had already paid for 2 nights and didn't know if we could get our money back, and didn't want to ask. Don't think I would stay here again. read more

I feel this facility is fantastic! The owners do everything they can to accommodate you, all of your neighbors are always friendly whether they be a full-time residence or part-time RVers. The laundry room is always clean, the pool is always sparkly blue and the park is quiet in the evenings. I feel safe walking at night, the deer come eat close by and everyone is pleasant. The recent flooding has temporarily damaged the beach front but once it's dried out it will be ready for use again! It's a great spot for fishing! Very family friendly, safe for kids to ride bikes, pet friendly too! read more

This campground is very clean and the sites are spacious, especially the pull-through sites. The office personnel were very friendly and extremely helpful when we noticed a tire losing pressure on our trailer. Elizabeth helped direct us to the closest tire store giving us directions to allow us to stay off the busy highway. There are very few trees, so little shade is available and it is very close to the busy HWY 71. It is also alittle bit hard to find with a very small KOA sign, so be sure to follow directions carefully. All in all, we would definitely come again. read more

Cabin very nice but neighbors are within a few feet away which I didnt like at all. Freeway next door which is good and bad, you decide. No trails along Colorado river from the camp ground, which I thought there would be. Instead a lot of tall brush. Fishing pier was about 10x10 area or a bit bigger. Not what I was hoping. Campsite is fairly small and with what seemed like many people living there and not just staying a week or so. People running place very friendly and accommodating. Bastrop park less than a couple miles away and has great very rustic but fully accommodating cabins which is where I'll go next time. Stores very close to camp ground as well as restaurants and downtown. PawPaws in downtown BAstrop best place I'd eaten in a very long time. Cabin has everything you need except body soap. read more

Refused us as soon as we pulled up. We went to the KOA in Leander/Northwest Austin first and thought we were all set because two employees had given my husband a numbered spot and taken his money. Then a third employee came in and asked him if the school bus was his. Once he said yes she told him that she could not allow him to stay because it was too old. Something about a ten year rule. He tried to explain to her that it is a 2007. Once he said that she said something about not liking it's appearance with mismatched curtains. Then she asked if we had any where else to go and he said no. She didn't really seem to care. Just said sorry. We think she called this KOA in Bastrop /SE Austin and gave them the heads up to be looking for us. Because as soon as we pulled up a lady came right out and said she had no room for us and they don't accept buses. So much for Southern hospitality. And our "school " bus is a conversion rv. read more
