Due to availability I gave this hotel another shot AND I am glad I did! First the front desk team has changed and two delightful ladies helped me and my work buddy (Mitchelle was one) - she offered me water, asked me if I wanted points and explained all amenities to us both. Later I went to bar to work and Devin was amazing - they were attentive and curious and made me some solid manhattans. The room was super clean, quiet and plenty of hot water (I took a bath!) so this is back on the list for work and pleasure and appreciate the 180 degree change for sure. read more

Standard Courtyard experience. Hotel is a bit dated, with a lack of food options except for their basic Bistro, and somewhat underwhelming rooms. Not typically a fan of most Courtyards, for the aforementioned reasons, but stayed because it was close to the airport. read more

The property is a little older, rooms a little dated with a mysterious bodily fluid stain here and there on the wall. Everything else is clean and smells good. Staff is friendly and attentive. They are understaffed at the bar/grill so come a little later or stick to wine and beer for efficiency. Kitchen fairly quick, I guess because they are out of so many ingredients. Cheese burger had no cheese nor tomatoes, just meat bread and lettuce, no arugula salad either. Would have been nice to have been made aware ahead of my order. read more

Before I booked, I read a review that they had hot water issues with the shower. However that review was about 5/7 months prior to my visit so I assumed that issue would have been resolved. In that review, the woman said that she had a health issue that really required her having a hot shower in the morning and that she had called the hotel to be sure and they had insured her that the hot water was fine. However, when she woke up and took a shower, there was no hot water. I too was very sick. I had caught something and I had a terrible head cold and really needed the hot water to clear my congestion and sinuses before I flew out on an early morning flight. But low and behold when I went to take that early morning shower there was no hot water again so I don't know if I would trust staying here if hot water is very important to you and I don't even think a phone call would be enough since that didn't work for the other woman. I let them know when I checked out. I wasn't trying to get anything free. I just really think people should have what they expect, especially from a Marriott affiliate. Oh the other thing was their shuttle bus took a really long time to pick me up from the airport and had no air conditioner on the pick up, but they did on the departure. And quite honestly that can happen. It wasn't the end of the world if it had only been the air conditioner and the late shuttle bus, I probably wouldn't have left a bad review. The hotel was very clean. The staff was very nice. the bed was very comfortable as expected from the Marriott. I really feel bad giving them three stars, but I was tempted to give two. Rooms have bugs in them and very run down, the bathroom was falling apart, the lock on the door was starting to rip off the side trim around the door, and the lamps next to the bed were also clearly not upkept. The A/C is on a motion sensor and will shut off when you sleep, or if you are in the room not directly in front of the sensor(if you talk to the staff they will just say to deal with it). the lobby is ok though there is no free breakfast and the customer service is pretty bad overall. read more

The Courtyard Austin Airport is typical of older Courtyard locations that are in need of renovation and updates. I stayed overnight for one night. The AC did not work well in my room, I could not get the room to the temp. I wanted. The bed was comfortable, the WiFi was fast enough. The HD TV was tiny. There is a ton of room where the HD TV is - to put something in substantially larger. I dropped off my rental car the night before - and had the hotel shuttle come pick me up from the Airport. Their shuttle bus is this old, clunky, outdated vehicle - that has a terrible suspension system. Riding back to the hotel in it - it is loud, bumpy, and unpleasant. I was planning on taking the shuttle to the airport in the morning, but I just missed its departure - and was going to have to wait another 30 minutes for the next ride - so instead, I opted to take an Uber over to the airport. We crashed at this hotel before an early flight (4 am wake up call, yuck) and got a surprising amount of rest given the circumstances. The bathtub and tiny soap offered a spa-like experience after a day of running around Austin and eating BBQ. Front staff had the signature great service I love about Courtyards, and the room was clean, spacious, and super comfortable. The hotel is a crazy-short drive to AUS, but there's no sounds of place traffic. A Waffle House and 7-11 are within walking distance, and the private parking lot is very isolated. I felt very safe in the area. If you're looking for a quick stop or an affordable place to crash during your visit to the Austin area, check this place out. I'd return! read more

This is typical Courtyard, and I stayed there first night while coming to Austin for crazy SXSW, before moving to my preferred location in downtown Austin (Aloft). Well, Courtyard is not Aloft, and I knew what to expect. The rates were jacked up unreasonably due to SXSW, and that was expected too. It is clean, and common areas are fairly well updated. Breakfast was adequate. The rooms are of decent size, but everything is made inexpensively, from towels to linen to lamps.... The smell is not very pleasant, something chemical, and it was also expected. What made the whole experience much better, was the customer service. All front desk staff and bistro staff was very friendly and cheerful, liked that part! So, all in all, is adequate for 1 night stay by Austin Airport. read more

Let's start this with the positive... close to the airport.. no noise from planes so you can sleep. Front desk staff is very nice and the price is right. AND there is a Starbucks just a half block with a 7-11 store as well.. all good. The not so great... the television in at least my room was very small and located in front of a small couch rather than in front of the bed... for a hotel this is not the norm. All business travelers get back to their rooms after all day meetings and sit in bed working on laptops doing emails. Fix the screen size as well as tv location and you got something. read more

To say that we were blessed to stay at the Courtyard Marriott Austin Airport is an understatement. We will be forever grateful for this hotel and the angels who work here and I would 100% recommend this place. Here's why: We booked our stay at the hotel after our Airbnb lost power and remained there for 5 days during the TX winter storm, due to 2 cancelled flights. Estella and her team worked above and beyond to make sure we felt as comfortable as possible. Even when a pipe burst in the lobby, Estella, her team, AND their significant others stepped in immediately to stop the water and diffuse the situation. Estella and team worked to hand out food, and Estella called our room personally when food was in the lobby to make sure we were fed when food sources were low. Leslie, Sarai, and team at the front desk worked tirelessly day and night to make sure all questions were answered, each guest was attended for, and called each room multiple times with updates on the water situation to make sure everyone was informed. The front desk team ALWAYS had a smile on their face and jumped at the chance to get whatever we needed. Overall, the team (and their FAMILIES) worked together (even jobs they didn't normally do) to help us feel safe and supported during this crazy time. The rooms here are TERRIBLE. The layout is bad and the nightstand size is laughable. I could barely fit my iphone and a water bottle next to the room phone. They did have a great waiting area in the lobby with booths and personal tvs. We happily waited there before we had to leave for our flight. Location is good, super close to the airport and parking is free. read more

Checked in at 10 pm. The hotel was oversold. Was given a room that when I walked in had a giant Dr. Pepper on the dresser that was open. Uh oh. . .this doesn't look good! Turned on the light and the bed was in a huge disarray! Not sure if this was someone else's room or housekeeping had not gotten to it. Regardless, went back downstairs to get another room. You would think that it would be extremely easy to get another room when that happens. Took about ten minutes as all their rooms were alloted for. Thank goodness I'm a Titanium Elite or I believe I would have been stuck. I only stayed here because everything was sold out downtown. Never again! Will remember to book more in advance. read more

Initially, I was not sure what to expect because of the boarded up/abandoned hotel directly across the way (which also happened to be my view), but once in my room I was pleasantly surprised. Kudos to the housekeeping staff as the room was immaculate and designed very well. I'm somewhat of a germaphobe and when I travel, have my cleaning supplies and disinfectant spray handy. Because I was on business travel, I was exhausted when I checked in and was grateful that the room was so nice. The bed was very comfy and I got a great night's sleep. There was no complimentary breakfast, but the hotel's restaurant, The Bistro is available onsite (a little pricey). There were restaurants within a six mile radius and a Waffle House right next door. A solid 3-star hotel, no more, no less. The room was clean and the front desk staff are friendly. The hotel is a two minute drive from the airport, which is the only reason anyway stays in this part of Austin. That being said, the hotel was not especially stylish, the rooms are small, and the beds are definitively less comfortable than the beds at the totally comparable Hampton Inn next door. The cable channels are also significantly more limited than the comparable Hampton/Hilton hotels in the area. Rooms are fine; typical for Courtyards. I travel all over the country every week. I was amazed that I could not hear the airport with a room on that side of the hotel. I wasn't crazy about the smaller, Panasonic tv, but the real issue was with the shower. No warm water 2 days in a row. It was like being at summer camp in my youth. Apparently there are "problems with plumbing in rooms ending in 18." Just my luck. Ask for a different room if you get 118, 218, 318 or 418; unless you enjoy a cold shower. read more

Not only was my group staying at the Marriott during Covid-times, but we were a last-minute booking during the Feb winter snowstorm that swept across Texas. Our flights were cancelled on Monday, and we couldn't get out until Friday. The 8 staff members (who were also trapped in the hotel due to weather since Thursday, away from their own families for over a week by the time we checked out) continued serving guests meals and water, turning over rooms and covid-sanitizing between check-ins, and operating in full. The staff was going out in their own cars, and canvassing local shops and Target/Walmart to find water and food to keep the hotel stocked. The gym and pool were operating (with social-distancing sign-ups) until electricity and water were shut-off city-wide on Tuesday night. I never worried about getting covid at the hotel, as safety measures were in place. Beyond dealing with the ongoing hardships of the storm and covid, every aspect of my stay was lovely. The room was spotlessly clean, well-stocked (AC unit, mini-fridge, TV with lots of channels, etc) and very comfortable. Everyone on the staff I spoke with was smiling, courteous, helpful, and did everything they could to make sure each guest was taken care of. Not only would I recommend this hotel and stay here again myself, I would go out of my way to do so because I know the type of warm, quality people who work here and the type of service they provide. 10/10!! read more

Predictable courtyard with the newer 2015 era revised decor. The one bedroom suites in this property are very roomy. My room had both a fridge and a microwave. I love that the courtyards are starting to provide microwaves to the rooms. Lobby has the bistro for breakfast and dinner rather than the older Courtyard complimentary breakfast buffet. Staff was friendly. My main wish is the Courtyards would upgrade the bedding to a slightly heavier comforter. All courtyards seem to have these too thin to help comforters. The full service Marriotts have much nicer bedding. I am also not a fan of the new Courtyard standard couch, they look cool, but are not very comfortable. The take up a ton of space but do not really seat 2 people very well. read more

We had a good stay here. The lobby and rooms were beautiful. There were a few issues with the room but nothing that anyone could really change since they were design flaws mainly in the bathroom. When making my short trips to Austin, I always pick this place. The first time I stayed here I was impressed, plus I joined the rewards program. Several years later, this place has been nicely renovated! New carpet, paint, & furniture. The lobby is nicely renovated with a restaurant and bar. The pay-for breakfast is always good! You have lots to choose from, before they had a buffet, but I prefer the freshly made food. If you don't feel like eating here, there is a Waffle House in front, a 7-11 next to the Waffle House, a Subway, Tex-Mex eatery called Javi's, and a Starbucks, all on the other side of 7-11, in a small shopping center. All of this is walking distance and up Ben White, like a 6 min walk is a Denny's. You also have a free shuttle to and from the airport and the staff is always friendly! Came to Austin for the JMBLYA Festival and this was one of the cheaper options. Shuttle picked us up promptly from the airport and we were able to check in around 10am vs. the afternoon time I was given. Rooms were nice, comfortable beds, and staff were all great! Provided us extra pillows, towels, and recommendations for restaurants around Austin. Would definitely stay here again! read more

tl;dr: Do NOT stay at this property --because if anything happens to you, they will not be able to solve it and they do not care. When we checked into the hotel on Sunday evening, my husband accidentally left the rental car keys at the check-in desk while juggling our bags. On Monday morning, we realized our mistake and called housekeeping and the front desk at ~10am to ask about my keys and both confirmed that they didn't have any car keys. My husband and I searched our entire room, the corridor/hallways to no avail. We went down to reception and asked again in person and were met with the same response "we don't have any keys". Panic started to set in, so we canceled all of our work meetings, and we kept searching. We thought that maybe we had made an uncharacteristic mistake and locked our keys in our car/trunk, so called triple A to unlock the car and incurred a $60 charge. The keys weren't in the car, so we asked reception again about our keys. At 3pm, after losing our entire day of work and being stressed and miserable, we finally called our rental car company to tow our car back to their location. I asked the Asst. GM one last time, if they were sure there weren't any car keys handed in to reception, and again, she said there was nothing in the system. Our car was towed -incurring hundreds of additional dollars -and we went back to our room to grab our things for check-out. At 4:00pm, we received a call from reception, telling us that our car keys were at the reception desk. Relieved, we went down to retrieve the keys, and asked who finally handed them in, to which he replied "oh the keys were here the whole time, they were just under this file". So, to recap the facts: * We asked about these keys to multiple people at the reception desk face-to-face and on the phone throughout the day * The keys had been there the whole time, the person at reception on Sunday couldn't be bothered to log them in the system and just left them there, and then all throughout Monday nobody (inc. the assistant GM) bothered to ACTUALLY check for them * We incurred considerable UNECESSARY financial costs thanks to the negligence and laziness of the entire staff * We lost a full day of productive work searching on a wild goose chase, incurred unnecessary stress and misery... and to add further insult to injury, it was my birthday. I literally spent my entire birthday calling AAA/towing services and searching for keys and that weren't lost. My husband and I are both platinum Marriott rewards members (and gold SPG). We have stayed in countless Marriott and SPG properties over the years, and we have never, ever witnessed such appalling customer service and such a complete lack of professionalism and ability to do a job from any other hotel staff. All it would have taken is for someone to actually just spend no more than 20-seconds looking at the actual reception desk and see these keys. We were clearly distraught the entire day, and the only thing we were met with was "sorry it's not in the system". How there was such a monumental breakdown in their process and lack of accountability is mind-boggling to me. read more

The two best things about this Courtyard? 1. Its literally 2 minutes from my company's office in Austin. 2. There is a Waffle House next door to visit when you return from boozing it up on 6th street! At any given time there are at least 5 people from my company staying at this hotel. The staff really appreciates our business and goes out of our way to accommodate us with upgrades and incentives. The rooms are nice and clean. The lobby is spacious and has a small bar in it. The Courtyard is a quick 10 minute cab ride from downtown and a 15 minute drive to Barton Creek Mall. There isn't a ton within walking distance from the hotel (except the wonderful Waffle House!), but if you have access to a car this isn't a big deal. Okay, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying this is a 5-star hotel in hotel speak. Search for 5-star hotels on Kayak or some other travel e-commerce site and I assure you that you won't find this hotel. From a decor & amenities standpoint, this is a solid 3-star hotel. The reason I'm giving it 5 stars is that they were absolutely fantastic to work with when we had a large out-of-town contingent (40 rooms) coming in for a wedding. I negotiated with a number of hotels in the Austin area and no other hotel came close in accommodating our needs - whether it be providing a competitive rate, keeping the bar staffed until 3AM on a Sunday night, providing a private room for a day-after breakfast, helping with transport to the wedding site, etc. I would highly recommend working with them if you need to book a large number of rooms. It's a 3-star hotel but they work really hard which sometimes makes all the difference (anyone who has stayed at or worked with a 'boutique' hotel where the staff is indifferent at best should know what I mean).... read more

Listen up people - nobody WANTS to stay at the airport hotel. Even if you think you do, you don't. Sometimes its necessary, though. Like when you book your tickets to SXSW last minute. And maybe you're used to something akin to the W or the 4 Seasons, or renting an apartment for your stay. But here's the thing, if you DO have to book a less-than-schwank hotel, this is it. Yes, its a drag to take a shuttle back and forth to downtown. Yes, the decor is... ugh. And yes, there is a gas station right next door. But but but!!! The people here are extremely nice. The service has been excellent. The rooms are clean and well stocked. They had free bottles of water and what seemed like fresh baked cookies (macadamia nut and white chocolate!) in the afternoon. And best of all, they have a random little 'market' with things like microwave popcorn, HotPockets, and pints of Ben & Jerry's. So. I say save some cash and give this place a shot. They really are working hard to earn your dollar, and you won't regret it. read more

This was a great hotel to stay at. I reserved two nights from priceline.com for $140 before tax. We stayed here to booze at 6th street and to float new braunfels. The staff there was pretty helpful. The best part was their fruit infused water at the front. We raided it several times. This hotel has a pool. Didn't bother with it. No time. Also, there is a waffle house and a Denny's next door. And if you can't eat at all there's a Starbucks too. All of these great things are in walking distance from the hotel; in case you're still hungover and drunk from last night. Oh and there is a bar in the lobby. It has some strange hours. They close early on the weekend. Oh and i saw some guy try to steal beer from the fridge they were able to take two but the lady at the front desk probably billed their room. Location was fine as we only drove from San Antonio to Austin, for the George Strait concert. I've stayed at almost all of the hotels on the E Ben White Blvd strip (except the La Quinta-- haven't done that one yet), and this one totally wins. (The Comfort Suites comes in 2nd place, just FYI.) The rooms were super-clean, not a single errant mystery pube. The shower was enthusiastic, the bathroom fan was peppy, the interwebz access was speedy. Friendly staff, spiffy room, comfy bed, and decent toiletries. If you're expecting posh & spacious for $105/night, you're perhaps asking a bit much. This is a business traveler hotel near an airport folks, it ain't a W. (But hey, your travelin' pal Jill says: If you're lookin' for a business traveler hotel that is a little more funkay, try a Hyatt Place. I dig 'em.) My only complaint is that it's kinda hard to figure out how to get in the place. My advice: Turn onto East Riverside, and make a left at the Hawthorn Suites sign. It's straight back there. read more

Nicer on the inside than it looks on the outside. Close to the airport with nice enough rooms and solid amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. 2 not so great things: The elevator isn't air conditioned, so you basically get to spend time in a moving sauna on your way to and from your room. I also needed a shuttle back from the airport after I dropped my car off. I called the number they gave me twice, plus the hotel main number 3 times. No answer. Ended up taking a $25 cab ride back to the hotel. On the plus side, they reimbursed me for the trip and were very apologetic, so that was great. The shuttle ride to the airport for my actual flight was no problem. I don't think they serve free breakfast (maybe they do and I didn't see it). It looks like they have a nice cafe/bar thing though, but I didn't try it. read more
