The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. The complexity of the spices, the balance of all the flavors--were really well done! It's a reasonably priced restaurant as well, and we felt like we were with family. Even the espresso and dessert (which was ice cream and spekkoek & were much needed after a spicy dinner ) were delicious! We'll be back soon!

This is a family-run establishment with a long history. Our menus came with Java-Bode, their house publication, detailing their 40-year history. The walls are adorned with vintage KLM Royal Dutch Airlines airplanes and advertisements. I love their nod to Dutch aviation. Our rijtsttafel was very enjoyable. Even though the plates look small, we were completely full and satisfied by the end. We managed to finish just in time for the reserved party to take the table, so it worked out perfectly.
