This shop was really cute and folks were quite friendly. I love that they had items from various vendors. I chose some really nice room/linen spray with a scent profile called Berry Balsam, which smells fantastic. I was expecting a far too overpowering botanical, since balsam is a pretty strong smell, but this is a great balance. I also got some coasters, really cute, that are crochet and they're shaped like sunflowers. Prices were so reasonable. You'll find lots of fun finds here, for yourself or gifts for others.

However, the few pictures of the inside of the shop did draw me in and stood apart from the other spiritual shops in the surrounding area. My friend was looking for runes and I was curious what treasures I would find. The treasure I found was not of the material goods but the connection with the owner Kristie. I have an inquisitive mind that can never be satisfied. As an Aquarius in the Age of Aquarius, I've felt like I was summoned to help others but had no idea how. By watching and engaging with Kristie, I understand by aiding others in their spiritual growth, I evolve through small acts of kindness (it didn't need to be a grand gesture or some self-sacrificing ritual). A few things I found and love are the candles, specifically the mugwort candle, brass lockets, bone runes, pocket watch, and the seer. I have always been skeptical about the spiritual community, but I can't deny the recent experience I've had that there are unknown forces around us that can't be seen but are felt.

And when I say, a metaphysical store hates to see me coming (or maybe loves to see me coming) because I always leave with something!! They are truly one of my favorite types of stores to visit because I always find something that I can use to feed my mind, body and soul. On this particular visit, I left with a couple protection stones, the tiger's eye and the tourmalated quartz. With the current state of the world, this country in particular, and just every day life stressors, the added protection, is not only needed but welcomed. So, I was happy to add these stones to my ever growing collection. The price points were good - and the packaging is really cute. The store owner is super sweet. She allowed us time to really look around even despite the fact that she was preparing to close for the day. My overall experience, while brief and only once, was really good. I love to smell candles. Turns out they have a lot more than candles! From soaps to a selection of Yala brand clothing, Uncommon Scents is full of things to help me unwind after a long day. I didn't have a lot if time to look around initially, so I decided to sample oils from their bath oil bead bar and come back to try out their scent bar full of essential oils and other scents. They have a bath bomb that smells exactly like Oregon rain, so I grabbed that, too. The oil beads add the perfect amount of smell to a bath and I'll definitely be restocking them regularly! For my second trip to Uncommon Scents, I arrived with a vague recipe my mom gave me for the blend of essential oils she used to mix and spray when I was a child. One of the kind women that works there explained how the bar worked and mixed the recipe for me. It was exactly like I remembered it to smell, even though my mom had forgotten the exact measurements. I gave it to my mom for Christmas and she was so happy!
