I stopped by here because I work nearby and I decided to pop in after my shift to pick up some scented foam soaps. There was a short line when I arrived outside as they are limiting the amount of people in the building and it was probably about 5 minutes before I actually got in. They instruct you to just grab a paper bag and fill it with your items to check out as they don't have any of those reusable shopping baskets anymore due to covid which is understandable. Anyway, this place was fully stocked with their fall scents and Halloween stock. I got a little carried away wandering around in circles trying to take it all in. I was looking for a cherry blossom soap, the foaming version and I couldn't locate it anywhere. I asked an employee, who was super nice and tried to find it for me before letting me know they were out. However, as I waited on line, he'd found the last bottle in the stockroom and gave it to me. Talk about customer service, I was so delighted. I hadn't asked him to go out of his way to find it for me, because y'know it's just soap, and there were plenty of other scent choices for me to choose from. But it was just kind of a nice experience. I'm sad that I didn't catch his name to give him the proper recognition he deserved. Overall, the staff, were super friendly and patient. They apologize for the longer than usual wait time for check out and try to get you out the door in a timely fashion. I totally appreciate the measures they're taking to protect everyone's health and safety, and am super pleased with my first visit to this location. They left me with a great first impression and I'm looking forward to returning. read more

More than anything I'm all about customer service. I've been coming to bath and body works for a long time. I know due to covid changes needed to be made but there's a difference between not wanting to be bothered with customers and taking advantage of the current situation. They close at 7 pm and at I arrived at 6 pm . An employee was already on the end of the line refusing to let anyone else to stand in Line to go into the store. They had a line of about 6 people outside. The worker Theresa was very rude and said she knows these people won't be done by 7pm. It was a short line. The least she could of done is said wait a couple of minutes too see if the line moves. You can tell with her demeanor she just wanted to be done. It's sucks when ur rushing from work to make it an hour before with enough time but employee decide your time is not valuable. read more

This store was so unwelcoming. The employees were not nice at all. I asked one of the woman on the floor a question and she didn't even look me in the face. Almost every bath and body works store I've gone to over the years are mostly the same. Super friendly staff and always willing to help. Not here. I would have wales out but I needed a gift so I and to purchase it there. Avoid this location, find another close by. read more

It's the same as any other Bath & Body works. Security guard is a bit uptight for my tastes. Employees are customer friendly and actively engaging with customers on the sales floor. Same sales/deals as always. Lines seem to move quickly when they are there. Stock is orderly and sales floor is clean. Plenty of staff around whenever I come. No complaints. read more

Customer service will make or break your business. The Gateway location employees, not all but a select few, make you not want to shop here. No greeting, no thank you, no inquiry in terms of why you're returning an item and would you like to purchase something else. Unnecessary long lines. It's sad because this location is well stocked but you're employees are in need of training. Don't take people or they $$ for granted. read more

Nicely organized, with nothing broken and plenty of staff to help during this crazy holiday season. The store is a bit on the smaller size compared to other Bath & Body Works that I've been too. Pretty sure it's not too bad to browse through when there aren't a whole bunch of people in the store. The cashiers do move kind of slow. I felt like most of the time spent in the store was waiting on line. Good thing there were 4 of us. We took turns standing on line while the others browsed the store to save some time. read more

This Bath and Body Works is located on the newer side of Gateway mall. I went during the holidays season and the store was packed. The store was well stocked and organized yet a bit difficult to navigate with the crowd and narrow aisles. There were employees circulating around providing bags for customers to use to hold their merchandise. I found this helpful as I had walked right past the bags and managed to pick up an armload of lotions and body washes. The line to checkout was fairly long but once I reached the front, I was able to check out quickly. I had a coupon and the cashier was friendly and courteous. Brand new store and no grand opening sales or specials? That sucks. Out of all the employees there the evening I went (about 5) only 2 looked happy to be there and it showed in their work ethic. First young lady greeted and asked if she could help. Second young man tried to make recommendations when my cousin wasn't satisfied. Now when it came to the checkout line, two cashiers working both with customers and one Person in line ahead of me. The cashiers were sooooooo slow my cousin and I left. Came back to make a purchase after visiting other stores and although only one person with cashier and no one in line except us the process still took what felt like forever read more

Just went to this bath and body works to get a price adjustment on candles. I didn't have my receipt but I recently bought the candles five days ago and asked the cashier to look up my receipt using my credit card that was used. She told me she wasn't able to look up my receipt because their system doesn't allow them to do so. So I called bath and body works customer service and was told if I had the card that was used that the cashier would be able to look up my previous transaction and print out my receipt. So to the black woman with the natural puffy hair with glasses (not the one with the orange hair), customer service is apart of your job. If you don't want to service people then get a different job. I will be calling gateway bath and body works tomorrow when they open to speak to a manager to get her reported. Thanks for nothing you incompetent worker. read more

I like this location. New store with ample parking, friendly and helpful staff and lots of items for sale. I would've gave them 5 stars if it wasn't for the security guard following me around the store and flirting with me. I like to shop in peace and he made it uncomfortable. read more

I went to this Bath & Body Works, to return candles that I ordered on line to which arrived broken. As I walked into the store I went to a cashier to just ask what do you do if you ordered candles and they arrived broken? She politely answered "You can go get the fragrances that were broken and come back to me". She never stated I had to go wait on a line that was wrapped around the store, with only 3 registers open during high Christmas shopping. As I returned I stood off side to wait for the cashier. A rude manager with no hospitality or knowledge of appease the customers who assist in your paycheck stated "You can't stand here if you are doing a transaction you gotta go wait at the end of that line". I tried to explain to her what the cashier stated and she abruptly said "No miss you gotta get in line", and turned to the cashier and stated "Do not let anyone off of a no line to be helped". I was appalled! I put the candles down where I stood and walked out with the broken candles. Also I'd like to add that this store is approximately 7 miles from my home. However, I waste gas and time driving to Long Island Roosevelt Field store because their staff are customer friendly, ready to assist as soon as you enter the store, and if you have a return, (which I did twice) I didn't have to wait in line. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Went in there last nite which was 12/26/17 around 830pm. Being bored and pregnant I just needed to get out of the house. After hoarding all my candles,hand soaps, lotions, etc I finally make it to the front of the line. There's a nasty cashier with glasses her name is "LaLa". I observed this repulsive ape named "Lala" speak to this poor elder African lady with such disdain. I mean speaking to the top of her lungs at this lady, yelling at the woman to have a nice day, have a nice day, presumably because the lady was upset about "LaLa" throwing items into this woman's bag. Where on god's green earth does any cashier anywhere think it's ok to throw peoples items in bags at them and then continue to berate them as if this African woman is not an elder? If anyone spoke to my dog, cat or fish that way it would have been a serious problem let alone anybody that is family of mine. As I shook my head in disgust, she observed me shake my head and she gave me a sinister look. I was waiting for the little wench of a cashier to say something to rile me up specifically. But as I'm a black woman with decorum and class I know how to conduct myself. Anyway, continuing on. I asked the young cashier girl (she was caucasian and I missed getting her name) began to scan my items. As she's scanning, I asked her if I could use my 10$ off 40$ on every 40$ that I accumulate. She went on to say sure but she was going to ask her manager. The manager was this nasty wench "Lala". What credentials are needed to be a manager need to be reviewed because this ape "Lala" decides to open her big ass lungs to shout again in a berating way that I could not use the coupon in that way. She began to rattle off the store policy like a robot about how and when coupons could and cannot be used. Not a problem. Again I have decorum. There are children in the store watching this ape carry on and I refused to look like the ape that she was. It seemed as though because I shook my head at how she spoke to the african lady she was waiting to retaliate in some way. After the caucasian girl scanned my stuff it came out to 316$ and some change. I told her I wanted to use my victorias secret card account however I did how have my card on me. I told her usually when this happens I can verify using my license and my social security number. The caucasian girl seemed new and did not know what I was speaking about so she again turned to her manager to ask her how could she pull up that screen in order for me to pay for the items. This ape "Lala" started back up again. Shouting to the top of her lungs, "no you cannot use your victorias secret card in that way, not at this store, not at any store, only if you are paying a bill you can do that!" Maybe this is a new policy because I always use my victorias secret card at Bath and Body Works with or out without the card being present and on me. "Lala" goes on rattling like a robot it's now 915pm and the store is closed. At that point, this manager begins shouting at people, "the sale will be here tomorrow people it's not going anywhere". "Furthermore, I promise you it will be better tomorrow!" Never in my years of shopping and working retail have I ever heard of an employee encouraging people to come back tomorrow solely because she, "Lala" "was not trying to get outta here late and she had things to do". Since when in retail are you rushing customers out of the store, throwing items in peoples bags, shouting to the top of your lungs in front of children he day after Christmas or any day for that matter acceptable? I will never spend my money at this store solely because of the way this ape "Lala" carried on. I will continue to refer to her as that because her behavior as a manager working in retail was downright disgusting. I'd rather go anywhere else but here even if I have to pay for parking. I will also tell my friends and family to avoid this specific store because of this ape "Lala". I'm not sure if she got any gifts for Christmas, maybe she didn't have a man to celebrate the holidays with, maybe because she's out of shape, maybe because she's upset that she's working at Bath and Body Works. But girl nobody sent you to work there. So while on their clock, you need to take a refresher course on customer service, or on how to not get cussed out by paying customers who are willing to spend their money because that's where your actions are leading you to if it hasn't happened already. I wonder how many times this girl has been cussed out, if not beat up for how she speaks to people. I'm not sure if she has kids, or sleeping on somebodies couch, or can't afford to pay her phone bill, none of those issues have anything to do with how you treat people that walk into an establishment that you're "managing". read more

This location runs out of certain scents and products but the staff was very helpful. I had 25 dollar gift card and walked out with a bill of 63 bucks. How? I don't even know. Idle shopping gets me in trouble. Alot. But they had good deals (50% off on products). It was worth the visit. Speak to Coco and Zee, they were very helpful!!! read more

Came in and bought a few products , got in the car and looked at my receipt. I was charged for a product I didn't have . I went back to the store and waited 20 minutes for them to return and give me the item that wasn't in the bag . Decent location, if you run in and out and don't need to interact with the staff. I've visited many times, especially during the holiday season; however, super sales don't excuse rude, sour, sarcastic cashiers/ sales associates. I'm thinking because of the location, there may be a perception that the customers need the $3.75 lotions and sprays so much that they will endure the long lines and lack of professionalism. No! I'm disappointed and quite frankly offended by the lack of product knowledge and inability to be professional by sales associates. During my most recent visit, I notified the "manager" prior to leaving. She apologized, but the true sign will be the improvement of professionalism displayed on the selling floor, from security, to sales associates, cashiers, stock handlers and managers. When working, you are the face of the company and if you can't uphold the standards, step off the floor. Btw, kudos to the young man, William who endured the crowd with pleasantries and a smile as customers hounded him on of those very busy holiday sales. His smile was a magnet while the huffing and buffing of others turned others off. Customer service shouldn't be hit or miss, it is an expectation. I hope the staff here will undergo proper training.
