Purchased two orders online, for in store pick up. Send my spouse to pick up, he is in El Cajon daily. He went in, stood in line, very busy as usual. ( this is frequent complaint on this store ) Got to the desk and was told there was only one order. We live about 35 miles away. This is closest. Truth: There were two orders, but cashier choose to NOT CHECK for the second order. Husband asked her & she said no. Why in the world would the cashier not listen to customer, run my name and see the other order on their pick up shelf? So got one order, called up BBW.com and explained what happened ( above ) - they are mailing out my order no shipping cost. Will I be back to PW BBW? I've been holding back on writing this review, because I don't like to be the type of person who blasts an employee online, but I cannot seem to shake this situation. I was doing my usual Christmas shopping at the El Cajon Bath and Body Works, and it was extremely busy as expected. I had intended on using a gift card that I had received online. When I got to the register, I was kindly greeted by an employee as she rang up my items. Since the gift card was on my phone, she needed help with getting it to work in the system. This was not a problem, by the way. I understand that Bath and Body Works hires lots of seasonal people during this time of year. She proceeded to call over the manager, after she was instructed to by another employee. Not only did the manager do absolutely nothing to help her, but she yelled in her face and called her unprofessional for not leaving the register to grab her. After about 20 seconds of her berating the employee in front of a giant line of people, she left. The poor employee started to cry as she tried to figure out how to get my gift card to work. She was apologizing to me for the delay, which is absolutely ridiculous, considering she did not need to apologize at all. I think the person who owes someone an apology is the "manager" who yelled at her. Talk about unprofessional, you just screamed at your employee in front of dozens of people. It took everything in me to not say something to the manager, but I didn't need to embarrass the employee more than the manager already did. I decided not to call out this manager by name. I hope she reads this and decides to do better. Not only did you make your employee uncomfortable, you made me uncomfortable as well. You know who you are. I have shopped at this Bath and Body Works store many times. The staff is friendly and helpful. They seem to take great pride in the store because it is always neat, clean and attractive. On this day they were having a "Buy Three get Three Free" sale. This was the perfect opportunity to pick some of my Christmas gifts. I went in to "buy three and to get three free" but ended up "buying six and got six free" The cashier was efficient and knowledgeable of the promotion and suggested additional items for me to purchase. Because my purchase was over $35 I was able to purchase a tote bag (for $25) that had additional gels, lotions etc valued at around $100.00 (that's for me). Overall, this was a cheerful shopping experience and I was so happy with my purchase. read more

Shopping the annual candle day event during a pandemic was definitely a change but Bath & Body Works handled it safely and efficiently. The line was about 12-15 minutes long and stretched down into the side hall rather than down around other stores, with spaces marked in tape to help customers socially distance. There was an employee in the hall with a sample cart of the different candles available so you could smell them beforehand, presumably to speed up the time you would need to linger in the store. They allowed 19 people in the store at a time and provided each customer going in with a dab of hand sanitizer to keep things as germ-free as possible. Masks are obviously required. Unfortunately, there were only 6-7 scents available but we were told before going in that you could bring back any candle you bought that night and exchange it for another scent for the same price when more stock came in. I'm very impressed with the way this store adapted to the current health crisis and will gladly support them in the future. read more

This location is great they make you feel welcome and you don't feel like there following you like at the Santee location. this location usually has what you are looking for and what I like most about them is if it's not on the floor they will go to the back and look without making you feel bad or having an attitude. My husband and I walked into what we thought was a madhouse about 3:30 in the afternoon. My husband got in this huge line while I shopped. Christmas time last year a received a gift of perfume,lotion, and body wash. I did not like the smell so I went into Santee store to exchange it for perfume,lotion, and BODY lotion. This year I received same smell I did not like went into El Cajon location and they would not allow me to exchange (per the manager) the body wash for a body lotion I called Santee location while in El Cajon store and was told I could exchange with them. This location is alot better then the santee one customer service wise. However they still do not honor their coupons it stayed 1 item free up to $14 however i bought a bunch of candles then put a $10 one on the counter for my free item of xourse i was told that doesnt count and claimed because it was a tester candle which makes no sense because i was told as long as it didnt have black marker on the bottom of it from another employee it would be fine however you can buy this candle for $10 but it cant be part of the free items which makes no sense. These places really need to get promotions in order this was a complete false advertisement. read more

The worker needs to be careful how they treat the customer when they walk in if I tell u that I looking around to shop for my moms birthday and that i will get u if I have any question, but instead she follows me around I go to the front to get some hand sanitizer because I know what my mom like cuz I shop there all the time. Went in for the one day $8.75 three wick candle sale. It was busy. I asked a sales person who was stocking an area where the " You better not pout" candles were located. Her answer " I don't know there are so many flavors"-or something to that extent. Nice customer service-NOT. Asked if I bought on line would they be the same price-she was a bight confused. So I approached another sales person who walked me over to where the candles were located. Even if this employee was Christmas help, familiarize yourself with your product-just a suggestion. I love coming into this location but not after yesterdays experience, I would much rather make the effort to go to another location. I went in yesterday in the afternoon looking to buy some shower gels and maybe more; we were approached by a lady named "Gigi", who we thought was going to help us out but we were wrong.
