I was curious and joined the lineup. While waiting in line, a woman from Lush was handing out samples. I grabbed one. I normally don't shop at Lush stateside. It's a Canadian company and my local Lush store is fifteen minutes away from me. I tend to do a lot of damage whenever I'm in that store, similar to The Body Shop. I was looking at my photos and saw my Lush sampler. I realized that I should write about this store. What I got was Lush's snow fairy body lotion. It's cool that you see the person's first name who created the batch on the bottom of the container. The person also has the person's ID number that makes you wonder whether it's his inmate ID or Lush employee number. Snow fairy is pink. The colour either reminds you of strawberry pudding, or the colour of getting teeth moulds for retainers or night guards. I know that it's quite the memory spectrum, but those were the first two thoughts that crossed my mind when I saw this pink. It also explains why I don't work for Pantone. Can you imagine? Pantone 1414. Mouth guard pink. The smell of this body lotion is nostalgic. It was like going to The Ex in Toronto or some fair. I'd be chewing on bubble gum. When that flavour died, I got rid of it and had cotton candy. I'd then get a vanilla ice cream cone. It's all of those scents rolled into this body lotion -- bubble gum, cotton candy, and vanilla. I loved it. It absorbed quickly. It didn't feel greasy on my skin. So good. I dig Ridgedale Center. I was there a couple of times last month. Although I don't need anything at Lush when I'm away from home, as Dick's Sporting Goods and Urban Outfitters tend to catch the most attention for me at this mall, I do like this Lush store. It's on the second floor, diagonally across from Urban Outfitters. It's cheerful and inviting. It was brilliant to have Lush provide samples that day. The female staffer was so friendly and pleasant. It was a nice touch. If I were in need of anything at Lush while I'm in town, I'd come here. (90)

The store location is clean and of course the smell is great. We were the only customers in the store and nobody said anything to us. One staff was standing behind the desk while the other was washing a bowl out by the sink. It took us a bit to find what we were looking for and I would have asked but they seemed to busy to help us. The store was stocked well but it was confusing trying to find what we wanted. Once it was time to check out the staff member threw in some random samples and said thank you . No matter, but it would've been nice for her to acknowledge me while I was waiting. It was easy to tell that I knew what I wanted because I had my product in my hand as I waited, but she didn't even look at me. The woman she was helping was offered tea, of which I was never offered during my visit. While I waited I checked out some products of which I could have been sold possibly had the associate spent a moment of her time with me, other than ringing me up. A little customer service goes a long way and even if I didn't look like I could afford a big sale, you cannot judge a book by its cover, young lady. With a little attention she could've made the store three times what I bought. I will continue to purchase the few Aveda items which I cannot live without, but I won't forget the cold slight cold shoulder

There's always a demo going on so you can try the latest greatest. On a recent visit the staff was exceptionally helpful - I had bought an item at the airport store and gone to return it within minutes but couldn't because the manager needed to be there and she was away. I was assured that I could return it at any Aveda store later. This turned out to be wrong information - I could get store credit, not a refund. The Southdale staff member was very understanding of my annoyance. This is what outstanding customer service looks like. Aveda has lost its cruelty free bunny because it will test on animals in countries that require it. This is making me reconsider my relationship with Aveda products.

Several sizes, fabric types, design styles and colors to choose from with all items (shirts, pants, shorts, bras, underwear and more). The cashier was genuinely kind. Her name is Anna and she was incredibly helpful and very kind in helping it so so much. The brand often has sales and those are great options for buying and coupons as well for a great price.

So much for that visit. I drove along Grand Avenue to check out what was around the area. I saw Paper Source. It reminded me of a store in Winnipeg that I used to frequent. It was called The Paper Gallery. I loved it so much. If you are the type who loves stationery, greeting cards, pens, pencils, and more, you'd love this store. Paper Source gave me the same vibes. I turned around and parked on the street. It was free parking. Great! I walked into the store. My instincts were correct. The store had pens, pencils, greeting cards, and a lot of gift ideas. In short, I was in heaven! A post-Christmas sale greeted me. I saw ornaments, cards, and more all discounted. I did see the cutest felt penguin that was on sale, but the price after the sale didn't justify my getting it. I loved the pen section. From cute dog pens, to fountain ones, there was a pen for everyone. I ended up getting a disposable fountain pen. It writes well and it's the perfect size to carry in a small purse. Yet, it's the right size to write with if you have big hands. The plushies were adorable and deadly. I saw everything from avocados, to tacos. I loved the cookbooks. I wanted them all. I liked the one dedicated to soup. There were also book titles that made me crack up. If you can't think of anything to get someone as a gift, I'm pretty sure that you can find something in this store. I saw satin pillow cases, drinkware, candles, Spirograph, and more. If you're into sending cards, you can get extremely fancy by getting inkpads and stamps. I was into stamping in high school. It was nice to see how stamping has improved, but is still the same, if that makes any sense. I ended up also getting a sticky note dispenser in the shape of a typewriter. I have always loved typewriters, so I had to get it. I waited for a staffer to come to the payment area. She was pleasant and was helping another customer. I am a patient person who was not in a rush this day, so I was good. She came over and was extremely apologetic. She rang my items through her payment system. She then asked me whether I was a Paper Source, or Barnes and Noble rewards member. She uttered such magical words. I was the latter. It felt like Christmas. She let me know that my membership got me 10% off everything at the Paper Source. She also said that yearly, I get a premium tote for free. It's funny how I had eyed this tote when I first walked in. She showed me the pockets and keychain hook inside the bag that sold me. I loved it so much because the canvas thickness was perfect and it felt soft to the touch. I actually used this bag as my personal item on my flights home because it was more spacious than my purse and I could bring back more goodies! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and my transaction was done. She asked if I wanted my items in the bag. I said yes. I thanked this woman. She wished me a great day. I reciprocated and left with my new bag and goodies. I had a fun experience here. It's great when your original plans don't pan out, but you find a new store that you end up loving. (26)

Jen from the CR location had me message her about the redemption of my card as I was moving. She said she'd figure out a way for me to get my soaps! Even tho the card says only valid at the MN she talked to someone at the location I'll be closest to and says I'll be able to get my free soaps there! How amazing is she to get this figured out for me and how generous of the new location to accept my card! I'm so excited!!! I have not tried to redeem yet so I can't speak if it will actually work (I assume it will) but I so appreciate Jen doing this for me and I will always stop back to the CR location when in town.
