What made the experience worse was the attitude -- it felt rude and dismissive, and there was no apology or customer-focused service. I've visited other Nordstrom locations before and have always had great experiences with polite, professional, and attentive staff. That's why this visit was especially disappointing. Customer service is one of the reasons people choose to shop at Nordstrom, and unfortunately, this location did not meet those expectations. I hope management pays attention to the customer experience and provides additional training to ensure guests feel welcomed and respected.

On this visit I was looking for blue jeans. I found what I was looking for easily. I also had an online order that was ready for pick up. I took both items and was able to try them on in the fitting room. Both items fit well and I was on my way to purchase them. When I left the fitting room, I walked past a discounted pair of socks that will make a great Christmas gift. When I got to the cash register, I discover what a great deal I was getting. I stacked the discount I get using my Kohl's credit card, with a coupon I had, with Kohl's cash. The good deal that I got became a great deal. I recommend Kohl's based on their great apparel and tremendous value!

This review is actually for an online purchase from costco.com and there are some pluses and…read moreminuses, but I've listed the review under our go-to Costco in Mount Prospect, for better or worse. Anyway, we knew what we wanted and decided to order a mattress from Costco as opposed to a regular mattress shop as we have always done previously. It was "just" for a guest room queen size mattress and we thought we would see what the experience might be like and we bought a decent looking hybrid firm queen mattress for $800 (listed prices include delivery). Scheduling was seamless and prompt and the deliverers arrived right within their 2 hour window 4 working days after the order. The mattress was nice and clean and new unlike poor experience from some low rated reviewers. The customer service issues we had was with the deliverers who turned out to be 2 younger guys that worked for Costco's sub-contractor Ryder Last Mile. They were friendly and polite, but the first thing was they didn't take their shoes off or use foot coverings. I didn't like that but also didn't say anything not knowing Costco practices. The other thing was when I said don't forget to take the old mattress, they said "you need to call Costco and they will send another truck for it". I was surprised as the Costco.com site specifically said mattress removal was included, but again being Costco, I gave them the benefit of my doubt. I asked them to at least take the mattress downstairs and leave it by the curb, and they complied. After they hurried off, my first thought was I'm glad I didn't tip them as I was going to do if they were nice and competent, but they didn't deserve anything anyway lol. I immediately called Costco.com to schedule the pickup and also complain about the lack of old mattress removal, and the empathetic rep on the phone agreed they should have done so, and he immediately called the management of the cited sub-contractor, who then immediately had the same crew come back and pick up the mattress which they did within an hour. The Costco leverage and quality control really shined then as we have come to expect. In a second later phone call, I called back to complain and pass on customer feedback about their sub not respecting property with their lack of shoe coverings, and again another empathetic Costco.com rep agreed. He also then nicely offered a $50 credit to our account for the bit of trouble and I thought that was a nice touch and again befitting of Costco quality control. Anyway, overall, and despite the mixed experience, we're quite pleased with the Costco.com purchase here.

When I came in I headed toward the order pickup section. When I arrived at the "self pickup", nothing made sense. Their site didn't indicate they offered curbside pickup (I checked my email just in case I'd misunderstood how I was to pick it up). I called and was on hold about six minutes because no one ever picked up. (There were 20+ people in line and I didn't want to wait around there just to be told to go elsewhere; what's the point of pickup if not to be quick?) Finally I found an associate not behind a cash register and he went to get my order, which was in the back and not at all in correspondence to the system they had out on the floor. I guess maybe they expect people to stand in line? But that doesn't make sense when their pickup system says you should check your email to pick up your item. I don't know.
