Sometimes you need a special card for a unique occasion and Millie's never disappoints. They have cards for every occasion, even ones you did not know you needed. The shop is jammed pack with Hallmark items, ornaments and cards. They also have a variety of other items for a variety of occasions. The owner is so nice and committed to providing the best service. I was looking for a card and he asked if he could provide assistance. 9/6/2022 I stopped by today to pick up some birthday gifts, cards, Halloween decor, and fall decor. I was greeted by the owner as soon as I entered. I recently moved to the area and have stopped in a few times. What made me want to write a review is how great our last visit was. We stopped in for some cards and the manager or owner gave our toddler a big candy cane and talked to him about Santa. 5/5 stars for customer service and variety. I've only been in this particular Hallmark a couple of times, but when I am here everyone is very friendly. Staff greets you upon entering, they ask you if you need help, etc. The selection here is above and beyond anything I've ever experienced at a Hallmark store. Hubs and I visited during their holiday open house and shelves were stocked to the gills with a wide variety of items; decor, edibles, puzzles, accessories and more. It really is a one-stop-shop for all things gift-y. My main reason for visiting was to pick-up a 60th anniversary card. They are nearly impossible to find at big box stores. Hallmark had several options for me to choose from at all different price points. Yay! Needless to say, I ended up over by their Keepsake Ornament display. Big mistake. I don't typically buy tchotchkes, but there was a perfect ornament for my parents that I couldn't pass up. Hubs was amazed with their selection of Star Wars items. We spent $20 more than anticipated. Oh well. I'll definitely be back before the holidays are over. You can't go wrong here. You'll find something for everyone on your list. read more

I take forever to pick a card and at some stores someone constantly come and check on me which gets pretty annoying. I went to Millie's Hallmark yesterday and bought cards and some Holiday ornaments on sale. When I got to my car I felt that I needed to use the washroom so I went back inside the store and approached TRACI, the clerk who checked me out with my purchase. When I re-entered the store she already had that look on her face, like, what is it now?! So I asked her if I can use their washroom really quick. Her response was, "Oh you can't use our washroom, it's dangerous there!" So I asked, "Dangerous?" She went on to grasp for words but she obviously can not explain herself any further. Then she continued, "Walgreens is just a few steps away to the right, why don't you go there and use their washroom!" I was so frustrated and turned off by the rudeness and selfishness of this individual but nevertheless followed her insensitive advice and went to Walgreens and used their washroom. I called Hallmark's Customer Service and complained about the attitude of this clerk and the representative was kind enough to take note of my complaint. I debated with myself whether to go back to the store to return all my purchases since I was still at the parking lot but used my head and avoided confrontation, and realized that I should just call the store when I get home and speak with the manager regarding the incident. So after a few hours around 5pm I called Millie's and asked the female clerk who answered if I can speak with the manager. She replied, "Well that position is yet to be filled up!" It sounded silly so I asked again if I may speak with the manager. She replied, "She's not here, you just have to call again!" I asked her if I can get the name of the manager and she HUNG UP on me when I was still talking! I called again and this female clerk answered again. I told her, "Please don't hung up I just need the name of the manager!" I was already upset but I tried to remain calm hoping to get my point clear. She then said in a very condescending tone, "I did not hung up, the line was cut! What is this about, is this a complaint?" So I said, "Yes you hung up on me, you are very rude! I just wanted the name of your manager!" She kept asking, "What is this about anyway, is this a complaint? And I told her, " I'd rather speak with the manager so when is she or he available and what's the name?!" She said, "Well I can not give you the name of the manager if you don't tell me what this is about!" Then I asked her for her name and she said she's not going to give me her name because she's not allowed to! So I told her again she's so rude! Then she told me in a very loud voice, like she's controlling herself from yelling, "Why are you yelling at me? Look, the other line is ringing and you have to wait on hold!" She then put me on hold until she hung up again! I was extremely upset because she kept talking over me! When I was at the store the only clerks who were there were another middle-aged lady and a male clerk who was busy doing the stocks. So it's obviously TRACI! She's the opposite of what Hallmark core value represents! SHE DOES NOT DESERVE TO WORK AT ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE COMPANY LET ALONE, HALLMARK! SHE'S RUDE, INSENSITIVE, LIAR, INEFFICIENT! This was not my first time to have an untoward incident at this Millie's but the previous one was with another crabby middle-aged sales clerk but I figured I'd give this store another chance! And I have been coming back since that last incident, even though it's farther away, until yesterday! It's unfortunate that the Amy's Hallmark by Des Plaines closed and the staff there lost their jobs when they are the one's more deserving to work at any Hallmark branch! Besides, what does she mean by "their washroom being dangerous"? It was not my first time at this Millie's and I have also used their washroom in the past! I do not recall passing thru a "dangerous aisle or anything like that, nor does their washroom look any dangerous at all"! She's just selfish and even a racist! If I'm Caucasian she would probably did not have a second thought! Or maybe she's just lazy to help a customer to use their washroom! What comes around goes around! Karma is for real! I don't really spend time making a big deal out of stupid incidents like this because losers like this TRACI are a waste of time, if only she showed a little respect and kindness to customers! Since I don't have plans of ever stepping back at this Millie's Hallmark again and I don't feel that I would ever have the chance to speak with their manager, I went on to contact their Customer Service for the second time and complained about this TRACI again! Another thing to point out is that, it felt as if this individual already knew ahead that somebody would be calling to complain so she took the time to answer every call to the store, hoping that she could prevent any complaints to reach her manager! And if she WAS NOT GUILTY OF ANY WRONGDOING, WHY CAN'T SHE GIVE ME HER NAME WHEN I CALLED...she's pure EVIL! read more

Ummm...its 7:30pm and your hours indicate you're open until 8pm. All lights off and not a soul in the place. No note on door indicating an emergency closing either. Don't have hours etched onto your door if you're not going to follow them-this is a major disservice to potential customers. read more

Customer service is not in their vocabulary. Purchased two Keepsake ornaments for my niece and nephew for Christmas. Come time to open presents and someone else already gave them the exact same ornaments. tried to exchange the ornaments for two different ones and was told 'NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES ON KEEPSAKE ORNAMENTS." Very disappointed. They didn't want to work with me at all. Told me to go to a corporate owned Hallmark, maybe they would be willing to do something for me. If I could give this no stars I would!!! This is the WORST Hallmark store I have ever been to!!! The owner, Bill, is the RUDEST person I have ever done business with. I have been shopping at the store for years always trying to avoid him due to his horrible demeanor all while not knowing he was the owner. He treats people like they owe him for shopping at his store. Also DO NOT bring children there unless you want them to be followed and yelled at throughout the store no matter how well or misbehaved they are being. I will never shop there again nor will any of my friends. I will go to the Hallmark in Elk Grove on Biesterfield. The staff is always so pleasant and helpful. They have much more stock. The other reviews said Millie's is always stocked. Half of that store is sale items, AKA crap he hasn't been able to sell that I saw in other Hallmark stores YEARS ago!!! The other reviews were right that some of the staff is polite. They obviously don't go there with kids or don't go close to closing time which is another time he has been especially rude. He practically kicked me out the door. Find another Hallmark to go to. It is worth it to spend my money where I am appreciated as a customer!!!! read more
