It's raining roses in Bath & Body Works. Covered in Roses, Edgy Rose, Flirty Rose and Fresh Rose are some of the new rose lotions and potions available now and it's not even Valentine's Day. You can always pretend it is. I like Covered in Roses a lot as it stays true to form by not changing the fragrance. I still have the body wash and body mist that I use daily. The lotion finished and so I am trying out the new rose offerings. Each of these is in body mist, wash, lotion and perfume spray. Did I mention candles? Now candles are also made. Imagine an apartment filled with rose perfume and far less expensive than fresh roses. read more

There aren't too many BB&W locations in NYC nowadays. So, I just love stopping by this spot once in a while in particular because it's only few steps away from the 6 train. Friendly staff will greet customers with a warm smile as soon as they walk in through the door. Staff doesn't have an attitude, won't roll their eyes or get annoyed when you ask them a question about the products. They're so willing to help you find a certain product if you don't already see them in the aisles. There's never a long line (or even a line at all to begin with) for paying. They take cash or credit/debit card as accepted forms of payment. You can usually finish checking your items out in a breeze. Always excellent and fast service from the polite staff. Everything smells so divinely delicious at Bath Body & Works especially my favorite items like fragrance sprays/mists, body sprays/mists, hand cream, hand soaps, hand sanitizers, shower gels, body lotion and cologne on the shelves. The variety of scents will range from floral, fruity, sweet, spicy, fresh, and woody. I would say that my favorite scents for body care and fragrance sprays/mists would probably be sakura cherry blossoms, strawberry pound cake, champagne toast, lavender, pineapple mango, and rose. They usually have really huge clearance sales after the New Year or Christmastime. Bath and Body Works doesn't have very many stores in Manhattan. This location is in one of my favorite shopping neighborhoods. There's plenty of historic buildings nearby too. I'm enjoying the fall seasonal items, especially Halloween designs. Customer service is always helpful without a hard sell approach, I like that. Go when they have one of their 3-wick candle sales. The candles are excellent quality and a better deal that way. They have an array of different scents and products that many of us remember from going to the mall as kids, but they have updated as well with newer scents and sleeker packaging. A good place to pick up a gift or something for yourself. This location can be a little slow to check out, though, so leave a bit of time. read more

One thing about me? I LOVE a B&BW candle sale i bought $100 worth of candles and got sooo many. I tried to order 3 of my favorite scent (Mahogany and Taekwood - Intense), but that's a popular one honey so they automatically cancelled 1 of them from my order. I was not going to let that bring me down bc I ordered so many other candles. When I went to pick up my candles, I told the online orders lady, Samantha, that one of my candles were cancelled and I wonder if they have any in stock now . Unfortunately, they stopped carrying my favorite lotion which is the HandiBac antibacterial lotion. I hope they bring it back soon. A sweet salesman approached when I came in. His name was Eric. Beautiful smile and he let me know if I needed anything that I could approach him. Win! Then a bumble bee of an employee started swarming me. She was (Hawaiian and/ or Spanish with name ending in Lai) I believe. She was going all over the store attempting to take all other coworker's customers that they were helping, obviously to meet sales goals. She needs to know that this comes off as obnoxious and to be an excellent salesperson you need to be aware of how others perceive you, which she is not. She even followed me up to the register and stalked me (yes I felt uncomfortable) to make sure when the cashier asked who had helped me that I said her name. She then walked away. I let the cashier know it was Eric who really helped me and to make sure the sale went under his name. I think I will order candles online in the future. read more

Awful location. Went in and was assisted by an associate named Crystal. She was fantastic. I started to fill my bag with items. Crystal introduced me to your wall plug collection. So here I am looking, and find a wall plug adapter that I really liked. I asked a gentleman with glasses (acted like he was in charge but seriously needs some work) whom then gave it to another gentleman (stock?) to check in the back. I wait a few minutes now it's been like 6 mins (mind you I came in the afternoon on a Thursday... the store was super slow). I see the stock gentleman come from the back and he starts ringing out a customer. I go to the first guy I asked (aka fake boss) and he tells me they are still looking. I'm like ok. Almost ten minutes later and I asked the guy again and he repeats the same thing then his coworker points out that stock guy is back on the floor. So fake boss calls the guy over asks him in front of me if he finds it because I've been waiting and why didn't he respond via the walkie (the way he spoke to the stock guy was completely humiliating and patronizing, specially because he did it in front of me and in front of other employees and just the way he spoke was awful. The stock guy looked super uncomfortable and over life). I was outright annoyed and felt bad for the guy. Maybe if fake boss wouldn't have been so chatty on the floor with his coworkers and embarrassing his employees, maybe the interaction would have been much much better but no thank you. I handed my bag filled with product right back and the only thing he did was give me a fake apology. To another location I'll go. read more

This place smells like middle school kids! Overly sweet, heavily fragranced, cheap packaging. This about sums up Bath & Body Works. What was even crazier, was that it is November 1st and they were playing Christmas Carols and there were Christmas Decorations all around the store. They had all Christmas products and scents. When I took out my phone to, you know, check in on Yelp, the register person told me to that I couldn't take any pictures. Very strange..... I'm a guy who has no shame to admit I like to keep my chassis smelling clean and sexy! I wandered into this recently renovated store the other day drawn in by the semi-annual sale where many seasonal items are running 50-75% off. Hey, even guys like me enjoying saving big bucks on his manscaping needs. It's all part of keeping my GTL fresh and in gear. As soon as I walked in the staff here is on you like drunk guys during last call at the club hitting on the last available females left in the bar. It's almost like a sign lights up as you walk in flashing "fresh meat"! Now, I don't mind someone asking if you need any help, but it gets quickly annoying when they keep asking and won't let you shop in peace. Stop following me around dammit! This store has a bit of everything and is well organized, bright, and clean. If you are looking for bath care and body care products this is a great chain to shop at. They have a terrific men's selection now of killer body sprays, shower gels, lotions, shaving products, and even colognes. No reason to smell rank and rancid, especially when many of these products are on sale as buy 3 get 2 free, and other dollar saving deals they run throughout the year. When I was looking around they were promoting huge sales on all of the seasonal items such as hand sanitizers, lotions, candles, etc., and is a great opportunity to pick up a few personal needs items or gifts. In the passing of my travels I stop in this lotion, candle, perfume store as the day after "Black Friday 2014" lured by their holiday sale. My hands were dried from the dry winter NYC climate which lead me to play with a few samples. One squirt of Vanilla lotion was very perfume-y and one spray of apple vanilla body splash had me sneezing all night and my eyes were watery. Whatever happened to simple scents? Why do their products emit such acrid odors? I sprayed onto the tester paper which emited a giant halo perfume aura of a one mile radius in the air. I quickly made a mad run to the exit making a face of discontent. Fast exit. It has been many years of absence shopping in Bath and Body Works as I prefer Gold Bond, Sauve or a non-scented but practical quality lotion. Merchandise is very well stocked and over- stock to cover the floor blocking aisles for customers to walk and freely roam. Overpriced. I rather keep my hands moisturized with Gold Bond and my body covered with Sauve. Staff appear seasonal hires while roaming this small store with company aprons. read more

Good lip stuff department and I really like their scented body washes, hand soaps, mini-hand sanitizers and candle/aromatherapy line. This store is nicely laid out, easy to navigate, well stocked and fun to browse in. I only ever really find myself in here if I need to pick up a quick gift for someone or if their window displays catch my attention when I'm in the neighborhood, they do normally have pretty lucrative sales and specials going on. Their products may not be la crème de la crème, but they do when you need a quick body butter, candle, lip gloss, etc. They also have a men's department and super cute holiday bundles that are perfect for easy gift giving. Sales associates here have always been the right amount of friendly to me and they wrap stuff up for you with cute baggies, ribbons, boxes, etc. Working in retail isn't always lots of fun, but people here are always smiling, nice job guys - it doesn't go unnoticed! :) read more

The clerk who helped us last night was so incredibly generous with her time, and so completely helpful. She suggested the best possible strategy for using their coupons (which get a little complicated at times, believe me) to maximum savings. She and the rest of the staff were friendly beyond belief, especially considering we walked in less than a half hour before closing on a Saturday night, when other people in similar jobs would be more apt to concentrate on whatever movie they were seeing with their friends after work. At one time B&B was all over the city. Glad to have found one where I was shopping but ever so disappointed. Two cashiers with a massive line of waiting people. I waited 20 minutes before putting my things down and walking out. Of course, you still have "ineffective" greeters at the front of the store who really don't know there function. I wanted room plug in odorizers. I could not tell the fragrances because there were not samples of candles or other in front of them for comparison. I mentioned it to the greeter and was told, "what we have is there." I'm not sure what the hell that meant but you're missing the point here. If you want sales, you must have service. The service must meet the expectations of the customer. You definitely need some training and some help. 20 minutes on line and still was not near the front of the line. Good bye. read more

Do you guys smell that? That, my friends, is the delicious fragrance of a caramel pumpkin candle aka one of the most spectacular things I've ever smelled. If pumpkin + caramel isn't your thing - no worries - there are a couple dozen different scents to choose from. It's hard not to get caught up in all those 'fall scented' candles too... pumpkin cupcake, spiced apple... Feeling overwhelmed? There's also a bunch of lovely sales people to help explain what's on sale, what the most popular scent of the season, etc. In the span of 10 minutes three different people, each one more smiley than the last, asked me if I needed any help. What service! Of course candles aren't the only thing they've got - lotions, sprays, soaps - oh my! So many to choose from and sample/tester bottles of every scent available to try. Not that you need any more reason to stop by Bath & Body Works - but this one happens to be really clean & well stocked, is easy to get to (6 train at 23rd Street is right there), and they always seem to have some sort of sale going on. I couldn't wait to get home to write this. I ordered and paid for 12 items, but soon after got an email that 6 were unavailable for instore pickup. I went to pick up my 6 remaining and was about to walk out when the manager of the Yonkers, NY store named Tree asked me what i was missing. I looked it up on my phone and showed him what i ordered versus what i picked up. He then offered me to take others in substiution which I was very appreciative of. Everyone in the store was extremely helpful without being overly friendly which was refreshing, because we all know this can be very annoying. So I went to Bath and body Works a few months ago and I was gonna write this review but my phone wasn't working and it took me a few months to replace it so I'm going to do this now so I went to the store to get a present for my daughter's birthday and a little something for myself so I got my daughters present and then I saw this hand sanitizer and this bath wash the flavor was winter candy apple it was lovely anyways so I brought it and I took it home but the bottles look fairly the same so I made the dire mistake of instead of using the bath wash in the shower I use the hand sanitizer in the shower and after that my Posterior have some severe irritation so I went in the mirror and looked and saw that it was red with bumps all over it so I went to urgent care and they treated me terribly they gave me stupid cream that I had to go to CVS in the middle of the night to get and it did not help at all the next day with the cream in and I went there and they said ma'am I'm so sorry for this inconvenience after I told them my situation but I saw behind the counter a young woman working there laughing I said to her young lady is this funny your company has harmed me and assaulted me I am bringing this to court. and then she laughed even more and called me a KAREN I find that extremely offensive so I said where is your manager I'm going to get you fired immediately she said that it was the managers day off. So then I told her I really don't appreciate how you like to harass older women based on a stereotype of their names being Karen my name is Carol Keller and I am proud of who I am you are not going to demean me by calling me Karen all the Karen's I know are actually lovely women and I hope your mother doesn't hear about this because she will be disappointed in you if I were your mother I would ground you on the spot. Anyways the court case was not allowed to go through because my husband did not want me to do it and I respect his decisions because you know he's paying for the Louis Vuitton bags in my right anyways I am never coming to this location again. read more

The prices here are a bit different on sales, but then again, you have to put the "Manhattan's rent" into consideration. The people here are friendly and they help you with your questions. I went to Bath and Body after work and shockingly was able to control myself. I love this place, and I love their sales!!! If only I could work there and they pay me in products instead of a check, I would actually be okay with that :o) ! None the less I came, I smelled, I touched EVERYTHING, and looked at all the new scents especially the Golden Pineapple Luau and the Tiki Mango Mai Tai. The store isn't too big, average size, but I have yet to visit a location with any serious square footage. There were workers there but they were walking around living there lives - I only say that because they always ask you who helped you (like the workers are running or making a big effort to help you out) when you're trying to make a purchase and I'm like I helped myself - does that mean I get a piece of the commission??? Overall, regardless of their lack of eagerness the people there are still friendly when you get to the register. The line isn't really too bad time to time unless there's a real good sale - then you're probably going to be there for a good while. read more

CANDLE DAY WAS SUCH A SUCCESS! . Upon my 7am arrival I was greeted at the door with smiling faces ready to help and assist my friend and I. Candles were every where, I was in candle heaven! The store was well organized and clean which allowed for great suggestions! I always love when the staff suggest their favorites and I actually purchased one that the Associate Vanity and Tafarah suggested. As my bag got heavy Rugi was right there to give me a hand. Im all about the wallflowers. Them shi&s is da shi$. Glade plug ins are dead to me, they dont even last that long. These wallfleurs last a long ass time and they have many scents to choose from with newbies every season and year. So fun to have a different scented home all the time. Sometimes the plugs burn out a lil too soon but have been told a few times to just bring it in and exchange it with a new one regardless of a receipt. I respect them for standing by their product and having such wonderful customer service. Also at times, the wallflowers and refills can be bought at a ridick low price of a couple dollars but they are not that expensive anyways and worth it for a sweet smelling home or office. read more

I happened to be near this location and there was a $10 off sale going on. Rather than trying to buy the store out, I purchased two of my favorite scents and smelled two other scents I am interested and buying. I was greet my a nice associate, who directed me around the store and they have done some renovation on this location since I last shopped and briefly worked here(prior to 9/11). Please don't laugh but I love bath and body products for my own personal smell good feeling and this location has many sales going on so it's cumbermelon body mist and pomegranate shower gel for yours truly .This park Ave between 22nd and 23rd st B&B shop is the typical layout as most other location , maybe a bit smaller but your soaps , candles , mist , gels, lotions , bath butter , etc are all available and so are the semi pushy sales people who need to let us customers roam in freedom . The buy one get one free, the 3 for 10 bucks , etc are not a bad ploy to buy more stuff. Maybe not the highest quality and you might find the same type products at dollar tree or dollar general but the nicely displayed stuff does pull you in to buy something . Bath and Body products are pretty much average but they always have these "amazing" sales that just manages to pull me into the store. The staff is very accommodating and usually willing to go out of their way to make your shopping experience a pleasant one. I am very fond of their body washes and they have ample lather and leave skin soft and delicately scented. Although, some of their scents are a bit overpowering. They usually release new scents all the time. So, if you don't see anything you like this season, be sure to check again next season.
