Upon entering, we were directed to meet with our "fragrance consultant" - we were matched with Jake - and he only added to our fun experience. He took his time explaining everything and provided very clear directions on what we needed to do to create our custom fragrance. After selecting our base scent, we then picked out additional notes that were added to the base scent. There were 3 of us, and it was such a fun time - Jake has quite the personality so we were laughing and really enjoying our Sunday afternoon. Sure beats another afternoon of eating and drinking away the day. After all the scents were selected, your fragrance is sent over to the back of the store and the fragrance-makers create your speecial custom bottle and you even get to name your fragrance! So much fun. I really like my special bottle and look forward to enjoying it for days/weeks to come! The cost is about $85 for a 50ml bottle. It's great for birthdays, holidays, client outings or even if you just want to treat yourself! Have fun! If i go back, I'm going to try to go during the week when I "assume" there will be fewer people there and the noise level inside will be a little lower. It's a popular location!

Unfortunately, their flight was canceled due to circumstances completely beyond our control. When I called, I was not asking to cancel the appointment, only to reschedule it. To my surprise, I was told that rescheduling was not an option. As a loyal customer, I expected a greater level of understanding and empathy for an unforeseen situation like this. I was committed to keeping my business with them and simply needed flexibility due to a travel disruption. Their unwillingness to work with me left me feeling undervalued as a customer. In my professional experience working with many businesses, I have seen the best customer service demonstrated when unexpected circumstances arise. Unfortunately, this experience showed a lack of customer care and consideration that I did not expect from a company I had supported and promoted for years. I will certainly miss their products, but this experience has left such a negative impression that I do not see myself returning. It's disappointing when a single interaction overshadows years of otherwise positive experiences. I hope they read this and do better with their customers. Given the current environment with flight disruptions, delays other other transporation challenges this will happen to another customer and they will continue to disappoint and tarnish their brand.

It's easy to see why since AG perfumes are easily the most pure in their essences and smells, with perfumes which really do smell like pure roses, or pure violets or pure orange blossoms. Mind you how those scents will smell on you will of course differ from person to person since that's how really good perfume works, it works with your own body smells creating something unique and it takes some testing and shopping around to see which perfumes will work for you personally. Personally I love smelling like roses, even if it is a bit old-fashioned. I like sticking to things you can't go wrong with so while on a spontaneous weekend trip to NYC, I decided to go check out the only free-standing Annick Goutal store in North America. Mind you, this isn't the only spot that sells AG perfumes; at most finer department stores there is usually an AG counter but I find the experience of visiting the home-store is usually more personalized. Located literally next door to Magnolia Bakery (of cupcake fame) in NYC West Village fashionably fabulous Bleecker Street, it's a small store with the entire line of AG products on the offering. The salesgirl, Rosa was really friendly and even gave me a free "Rose Absolue" candle with my purchase. Now, the only thing missing from my AG collection is the "Violette" perfume and I'm good to go. It's not cheap BUT if you really want to give yourself something special, you can't go wrong with an Annick Goutal perfume.
